I'm definitely going to go with the s20fe, because at the moment it is a lot cheaper than the s21fe! ( Plus, I don't like how they removed the SD card slot from the new phone. 🙁 )

The 865 is probably the best soc for battery life , maybe ever for flagship SoCs. That's why I kept my LG V60 and not my s21 ultra or my mi11 ultra . I get 12 to 13 hrs sot on the LG V60 and the other 2 could barely get half of that , even if I shut off the 120hz refresh rate. The 888 is a terrible soc and all the new ones too . Except for the 870 , which is an overclocked 865 , I'd avoid any of the new 888 and higher processors.
@Ron Cosby Thank you for writing this. Helps me feel better about my decision to purchase S20 FE instead of Oneplus 9RT or S21 FE. I felt that Oneplus sorta sucks with supports & updates. And S21 FE didn't seem good for the price & features to me. It's been just 3 days since I bought S20 FE.
@@aarkmish8087 the one plus definitetly has settled with their newest and greatest "software" and the the newer 8xx gen chips overheat a lot faster and need to throttle their peak performance after a certain amount of time (except for gaming Phones with a propper cooling system) the 865 and the 870 are more stable and run at 90-99% stability without any throttling or overheating. the s20 FE is a great choice, enjoy your phone🤓

A lot of features since Android 12 UI 4 upgrade are seriously impressive. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who plays lot of heavy games like bgmi or above. For battery life, I am a heavy user. I watch like tons of videos and do heavy multitasking. So I need to charge it twice a day. But for people who use it normally, it'd last a day. This exynos 2100 is different its good and battery at light usage can last up to 8 hours in s21 fe. I didn't find heating issue while gaming and lag or hang or frame drop during gaming sessions. But still onlie is online. If iam happy as user who stops me from using exynos?

I see here that at 3:39 hours of SOT the s21 fe exynos battery is at 60%. I have the same exact model, and at 3 hours SOT my battery is less than 18%. Definitely somethings wrong with my copy of the s21fe, I sent it to repair, I hope they validate the failure and get it fixed.
Watching this in s21 fe, i saw some reviews in Flipkart that battary backup is avarage, here i would say battary backup is not that bad it is good, for the first 4-5 days it would be avarage and after that some apps went in sleep and deep sleep, Now i'm getting 6 & half hour of screen time with 120hz i would say it is very good to me, *but some time with out using the phone battary is dropping little bit* hope it will be fixed by some days by the AI i think
oneUI 5 will fix that problem. I will suggested you to use dark mode and dark lock screen wallpaper. For less consuption of battery while sleeping turn of all unnecessary notifications and turn off Data,Location, Auto update. thnx ✌🏻

Hi Cielo. I get where you’re coming from, and so honestly speaking the S21 FE is every bit great for what it offers. But since you’ll be getting your first phone, I get the emotion behind it as well, so if you really have the option to extend your budget, I’d say go for the S22 Plus. Although I haven’t tested the phone personally, looking at the international reviews, it’s shaping up to be a superb phone in 2022. I know the S21 FE has the value and the lesser price, but if I have to pick, I’d go all in and get the top of the line S22 Plus. Cheers mate! ;)
As a student? Get used 20 fe 5g..i got both s20 fe 5g and s21 fe 5g and the diferences are very small.. S21 fe has more newer look and feel but it also heats up a lot (888 version) and no SD slot. S20 fe 5g looks bit older/cheaper with its design and thicker bezels but it does not heat up, has SD Card slot and its way cheaper now :) If you have money to waist and wanna look cool, get the s22+

And new models have disgusting software issues users say dont update it if you bought brand new. We are really being pushed to buy an iphone these days.

No its actually the reverse, sd888 consumes less battery meanwhile not gaming, then it proceeds to consume more in games but without consuming way too much, the exynos 2100 consumes way too much battery meanwhile not gameing and it should consume less when you are playing but then it comes the exynos problem and the cellphone overheats and the it ends consuming too much battery meanwhile gaming too, which makes its battery way too short. Sd888 its not a good chipset when it comes to battery drain, its not as good as the 870 but exynos is way worse

Bhai looks decide karne ka part toh khud se dekhna hoga. Mere liye toh S21 FE ka design slightly better hai kyonki ek symmetry follow karta hai. Uske alawa, ek saal ke extra software updates ke saath bhi aata hai. Toh agar toh 3-4 saal mann bangaya phone chalane ko, toh S21 FE ka support behtar milega. Finally, 8K video ka karna kya hai, 24fps pe chalti hai, stabilisation bhi kharab, details sahi hota hai par dynamic range weak, and space itni leti hai. 4k 60fps kaafi, gold standard hai. Video recording ka champ, iPhone 13 Pro, usmein bhi 4K 60fps max hai. Toh 8k se kuch ni hona. Toh mere hisaab se toh S21 FE behatar hai, baaki dekhlo. :)
There are still some factors you still have to consider for this test 1) this wasnt a fair test for the s21 since it had a smaller battery 4000mah vs 4500 on the other 2 2) maximum brightness (max nits) is different on all 3 Correct me if im wrong s21 has more than 1000nits I presume vs about 500nits on the fe variants 3) I wouldnt say this may have affected in the test but the s21 has a dynamic refresh rate from 48 to 120hz whereas fe variants are static 120hz So my opinion on this is if were getting about 5 hours ENDURANCE test on the s21 and about 5 hours 30 mins on the fe variants They're probably gonna last the same I feel the s21 should last more than 7 hours on normal usage (that is NOT IN CONTINUOUS USE). For context I have a galaxy a50s with a 4000 mah battery I am a light user, dont game often, dont use insta, use RUclips alot and the rest of the time keep my phone on stand by. I get about 7.5 hrs on my phone(NOT ON SCREEN TIME). And charge it just once a day, rarely twice. This is my opinion, some people game alot, or use social media, so they may get different hours on thier phone. Point is, if your a guy like me who keeps his phone brightness below 30%, dont use your phone intensively, close background apps ......... you can get more than 7 hours on your phone(NOT ON SCREEN TIME. atleast thats how I look at my phones battery life). Hi Amey! I absolutely understand your point. Thanks first of all for taking out the time and commenting and most importantly watching the video. So first the brightness on all phones are 1000nits plus. The S21 FE and S21 have about the same. Also the S21 has variable refresh rate so that is an advantage on its part in comparison to the static 120Hz the FE phones had to run at. With that out of the way, I'd say take these tests as a drag race. It's only a synthetic test you can say to find out who lasts the longest. You see there's always going to be a phone with its advantages and disadvantages, and if we take all into consideration, we won't be able to compare them. So yes you're right, a guy like you can last 2 days straight with a S21 with light use, I know it is possible, I've experienced it also. But then again, if you push that phone, or for that matter any phone, then even the biggest battery device out there won't be enough for a day usage. But I get your point it's not fair for phones like this but then again, see the fun part of things, as I said, consider it as a drag race. Thanks for reading, cheers friend! :)

Almost everyone who buy it will use on 120hz. How is it unfair when they have different capacities? I get 7-8 sot in even utube video or browsing.. The one battery drain I saw is on normal calls.. It's like 15% per hour.. Whereas what's app calls take only 2_5%.. Am on android 11 and didn't update as being an utuber I need to use external mic and I heard after update it doesn't work.. Any solution to battery drain.. And for all - to reduce heating switch to 4g and disable 5g..
I went for the S21 FE over the S22 because of the 4500 mAh battery vs 3700 mAh... Kinda regret this. I mean, my S21 FE battery life is terrible, as I can get barely 4 hours SoT. :/
Impossible. How can some people have 8 h SoT? On my previous phone (Mi 8) could never get beyond 5 h, and yet some people had like 7 h SoT and 40% left and shit... Do you put it in ultra battery saving, GPS off, 60 hz, data and WiFi off, or stuff like that. 8 h SoT is unrealistic.
s21 fe issues, bought it a month now, fast battery drainage, very fast, even without using it, it drains like 4%/hr, and ive used all battery saving steps i could think of. Another thing, they still have not fixed the issue wherein you can't play videos via browser, which is completely BS, regretted buying this phone, my 3yrs older Oppo even works better.
@Ravi Varujana for a month now it seems fixed after a few software updates, the battery doesn't drain that much, but still fast compared to other phones (vs my old Oppo phone). Although I still turn on my Power Saving on.
Still shows 2 years old snapdragon chips, can outperform newly build exynos. Batteries on exynos devices degrade very quickly than devices with snapdragon. I have snapdragon 835 device (which is more than 4 years old) which still has 90% of its full capacity.

Samsung phones tend to drain battery after 2 major updates (no matter clear partition or factory reset). It is noted from a lot of users that on standby s20 Fe on Android 12 loses quickly battery. one thing wrong about this test and its brightness! S21 Fe at the max level is brighter than two others. must test at the same nits and i'm sure S21 Fe better than S20 Fe.
Hey Aref! Sadly, I don't have the equipment to set the phones at the exact nits, and so I had to resort to setting all of them at their maximum brightness available. But yeah, you're absolutely right with your observation.

I have an s21 5g the S series battery aren't as solid as the A series , however it is still good for Me because I'm not a heavy user because i have two phones. On this s21 i just use WhatsApp RUclips and Instagram and I could get upto 7hours screen on time, however I don't use mobile much, so this phone lasts me a very good amount of time

S21 fe captures better images than s20fe for its fine tuning algorithm which is absent in s20fe. Better cpu and expensive Dynamic thinner display makes s21fe costlier than s20fe. Do some research and dont cmnt like a coward

Today i got 8 hours on screen time . I was getting 3 to 3.40 minutes on screen time with 120hz , increased touch sensitivity and power saving mode . Changes 1. i switched my Airtel network to jio because of network issue . 2. I purchased samsung 15w type c chargers. Earlier i was using samsung 10w or 15w usb charger . 3. I switched to 60hz 4. Android 13 latest update And i got 7 hour and 52 minutes on screen time still 4% battery left . Settings Power saving mode + increased touch sensitivity + power saving mode . Usage 3 hours youtube + 1 hour 20 minutes fb + 1 hour internet browsing
5.5hrs hua.. what about the rest of the hrs? Also I keep location off. And is idle battery drain there? This is exactly what I want and I use my current phone too like this.. If the battery is good I want it for camera. And samsung brand.

So there's no particular reason behind this that Samsung specified. So Exynos 990 wasn't a 5G chipset and they wanted to get a 5G version, so they launched the S20 FE 5G with the SD865. Similarly, Exynos 2100 was also a 5G chipset, that's why they launched the S21 series without the SD888 in India. But then again, the Fold and Flip come with the Snapdragon 888 instead of the Exynos 2100. Basically, there's no clear answer as to why Samsung decided this, only they can answer it. But rest assured, the Exynos 2100 is a fine chipset. I used it for about 5 months on the S21 Ultra last year, had no issues. Even this S21 FE is working absolutely fine. :)
Just put a high quality tempered glass at the front and leave the back bare. Don’t worry it won’t scratch. Please don’t kill the looks and sleekness of the phone with a cover. :)

Finally, 8K video ka karna kya hai, 24fps pe chalti hai, stabilisation bhi kharab, details sahi hota hai par dynamic range weak, and space itni leti hai. 4k 60fps kaafi, gold standard hai. Video recording ka champ, iPhone 13 Pro, usmein bhi 4K 60fps max hai. Toh 8k se kuch ni hona. Toh mere hisaab se toh S21 FE behatar hai, baaki dekhlo. :)

There are still some factors you still have to consider for this test
1) this wasnt a fair test for the s21 since it had a smaller battery 4000mah vs 4500 on the other 2
2) maximum brightness (max nits) is different on all 3
Correct me if im wrong s21 has more than 1000nits I presume vs about 500nits on the fe variants
3) I wouldnt say this may have affected in the test but the s21 has a dynamic refresh rate from 48 to 120hz whereas fe variants are static 120hz
So my opinion on this is if were getting about 5 hours ENDURANCE test on the s21 and about 5 hours 30 mins on the fe variants
They're probably gonna last the same
I feel the s21 should last more than 7 hours on normal usage (that is NOT IN CONTINUOUS USE). For context I have a galaxy a50s with a 4000 mah battery
I am a light user, dont game often, dont use insta, use RUclips alot and the rest of the time keep my phone on stand by.
I get about 7.5 hrs on my phone(NOT ON SCREEN TIME). And charge it just once a day, rarely twice.
This is my opinion, some people game alot, or use social media, so they may get different hours on thier phone.
Point is, if your a guy like me who keeps his phone brightness below 30%, dont use your phone intensively, close background apps ......... you can get more than 7 hours on your phone(NOT ON SCREEN TIME. atleast thats how I look at my phones battery life).

Hi Amey! I absolutely understand your point. Thanks first of all for taking out the time and commenting and most importantly watching the video. So first the brightness on all phones are 1000nits plus. The S21 FE and S21 have about the same. Also the S21 has variable refresh rate so that is an advantage on its part in comparison to the static 120Hz the FE phones had to run at. With that out of the way, I'd say take these tests as a drag race. It's only a synthetic test you can say to find out who lasts the longest. You see there's always going to be a phone with its advantages and disadvantages, and if we take all into consideration, we won't be able to compare them. So yes you're right, a guy like you can last 2 days straight with a S21 with light use, I know it is possible, I've experienced it also. But then again, if you push that phone, or for that matter any phone, then even the biggest battery device out there won't be enough for a day usage. But I get your point it's not fair for phones like this but then again, see the fun part of things, as I said, consider it as a drag race. Thanks for reading, cheers friend! :)

How is it unfair when they have different capacities? We are testing real world usage here, not how efficient a phone is although you can deduce it from the results
I get 7-8 sot in even utube video or browsing.. The one battery drain I saw is on normal calls.. It's like 15% per hour.. Whereas what's app calls take only 2_5%.. Am on android 11 and didn't update as being an utuber I need to use external mic and I heard after update it doesn't work..

Do you put it in ultra battery saving, GPS off, 60 hz, data and WiFi off, or stuff like that. 8 h SoT is unrealistic.

s21 fe issues, bought it a month now, fast battery drainage, very fast, even without using it, it drains like 4%/hr, and ive used all battery saving steps i could think of. Another thing, they still have not fixed the issue wherein you can't play videos via browser, which is completely BS, regretted buying this phone, my 3yrs older Oppo even works better.
@Ravi Varujana for a month now it seems fixed after a few software updates, the battery doesn't drain that much, but still fast compared to other phones (vs my old Oppo phone). Although I still turn on my Power Saving on.

Still shows 2 years old snapdragon chips, can outperform newly build exynos. Batteries on exynos devices degrade very quickly than devices with snapdragon. I have snapdragon 835 device (which is more than 4 years old) which still has 90% of its full capacity.

Samsung phones tend to drain battery after 2 major updates (no matter clear partition or factory reset). It is noted from a lot of users that on standby s20 Fe on Android 12 loses quickly battery. Hey Aref! Sadly, I don't have the equipment to set the phones at the exact nits, and so I had to resort to setting all of them at their maximum brightness available. But yeah, you're absolutely right with your observation.

I have an s21 5g the S series battery aren't as solid as the A series , however it is still good for Me because I'm not a heavy user because i have two phones. On this s21 i just use WhatsApp RUclips and Instagram and I could get upto 7hours screen on time, however I don't use mobile much, so this phone lasts me a very good amount of time

S21 fe captures better images than s20fe for its fine tuning algorithm which is absent in s20fe. Better cpu and expensive Dynamic thinner display makes s21fe costlier than s20fe.

Today i got 8 hours on screen time . I was getting 3 to 3.40 minutes on screen time with 120hz , increased touch sensitivity and power saving mode .
Changes
1. i switched my Airtel network to jio because of network issue .
2. I purchased samsung 15w type c chargers. Earlier i was using samsung 10w or 15w usb charger .
3. I switched to 60hz
4. Android 13 latest update
And i got 7 hour and 52 minutes on screen time still 4% battery left . Settings
Power saving mode + increased touch sensitivity + power saving mode .
Usage
3 hours youtube + 1 hour 20 minutes fb + 1 hour internet browsing
5.5hrs hua.. what about the rest of the hrs? Also I keep location off.
And is idle battery drain there?

Why not SD888 version of S21 FE?
So there's no particular reason behind this that Samsung specified. So Exynos 990 wasn't a 5G chipset and they wanted to get a 5G version, so they launched the S20 FE 5G with the SD865. Similarly, Exynos 2100 was also a 5G chipset, that's why they launched the S21 series without the SD888 in India. But then again, the Fold and Flip come with the Snapdragon 888 instead of the Exynos 2100. Basically, there's no clear answer as to why Samsung decided this, only they can answer it. But rest assured, the Exynos 2100 is a fine chipset. I used it for about 5 months on the S21 Ultra last year, had no issues. Even this S21 FE is working absolutely fine. :)
