    Could you measure the deck thickness please? Pretty important for the turbo guys.
    Thanks for the review and flow !

    Not sure if I missed it, but I would love to see you do a video on port, velocity and port size and whether it matters once the engine is under boost.

    I’ve ported these Enforcer heads, they absolutely need the opening widened .100” and blended back to get 300 cfm out of them. Reduce the size of the guide boss, a blend of the bowl, widen the short side a bit. Nice quality casting.

    I have a good friend in Australia that has a big warehouse like summit or jegs, he can buy the SBC dart copy for $60.00 a head, now you understand why they buy them. They are not cast in China, but Taiwan.

    It would be an interesting video if you upgraded the valve job and massaged the port. Curious how much flow you would gain.

    You should show port volisity aswell. That's where the real comparison is between the aftermarket heads.

    That's a good point you made about stock heads vs afr enforcer the prices aren't much when you have to do work on the stock heads so good know thank you for that information and definitely the flow number look way better on the afr so I can see a way better value already with afr

    On BBC big port heads, have you ever explored giving the long port intake valves a 50 deg seat and the short ports a 45 deg. seat? Reason, widening the torque curve and getting rid of the torque dip often seen before the torque peak.

    • @racerd9669
      @racerd9669 Год назад

      The TQ dip is in the Cam not the heads. Years ago I asked a GM engineer that same question, and he was in on the design team that did the BB head. He told me it was for packaging , go figure. When the DRC heads were designed by Warren Johnson what did he do . He got rid of all the long ports, and pointed all the ports at the cylinder wall, Humm , just like Ford does.

    Whete the inlet valve rocker pokes through into the inlet port, could you fill that void with JB Weld and smooth to not only block the vacuum leak, but also stop any turbalance and smooth the flow a little?

    For the money pretty decent. A stick 823 casting flows more than either head if I remember correctly. Near 315. But great Review

    • @jeredfowler7194
      @jeredfowler7194 6 месяцев назад

      An 823 gives up a ton of mid range torque vs the cathedral port heads on small displacement like 6.0-6.2 stuff but picks up a ton of power at the top. Tons of dyno testing on just RUclips to back that info up. But a good ported 243 can flow 300 plus that would be my choice for a 6.2 or less displacement street engine a more drag race oriented 408 I’d have a 823 style head 100%

    Do you test valve sealing on new heads you review? Reason many say many heads need a valve job when new right out of box as they do not seal correctly. So people need to figure the added expense.

    What is the largest valve size recommend on a 5.7 ls1. Im researching as looking to refreash my 04 VY HSV Clubsport here in New Zealand. Thinking of a simple bore clean,hone to 3.9.
    4" crank to stroke it out to 383 6.3Ltr. With ITB for intake. My only thing is heads. Sgould i just port, and plane my standard 241 heads. Or look for some 243 heads which have the larger intake runner, and smaller combination chamber

    • @jersyboyy

      @turbocarsmatterfastcarsmat2736I just bought a set last week lol. I got tired of not finding any solid info on them so I took the plunge. They are at least an 1/8" thicker in the deck surface than a factory gm casting. I didn't measure them, but having them side by side and just doing a visual, it was clear enough for me that even though they may not flow much more, the deck surface was worth it
