QD: I'm a heel striker. I always have to be careful with reviewers since most are mid or fore-foot strikers. That's why I always try to listen for comments about how the shoe would do for a heel striker.
You predicted the price increases 2 years ago or so! I got CM1 thx to your comments and they work well for my low arch. Firm shoes means longer distance to plow. Lighter is great. Price keeps me on my feet. Hopefully 170ish QOD. Heel Striker. Long runs seems great.
QD: Mid to forefoot striker. Always surprises me when I try heel striking in some of my training shoes and get more energy return and propulsion from the foam and rockers. Heel strikers got it good!
I used to be a heel striker, but I changed it over the summer of 2021 to forefoot. At first I would still heal strike on the downhills, but even that has converted to forefoot now as well.
What do people think is the best shoe for bad knees or specifically for protecting them from premature wear and potential injury. I'm trying to decide what to recommend a smaller runner friend who is in his 40s and starting to get concerned about his knees.
The "speedboard" has always been the downfall. No clue why they continue to produce their shoes with it when literally nobody likes it and makes the shoes dead. Every shoe they make without it gets rave reviews.
I feel like our running forms are so similar that I’m forever grateful for those reviews, as they save me a lot of cash and I can mostly rely on your experience
I’m happy you published this way ahead of the embargo date. Lesson to ON: read and reply to your RUclipsrs’ emails!!!! Seth, a revised scorecard of the shoe now that you know the $220 price, should be 0 😂😂 and recalculate the whole score.
How's the shoe width wise? I run in the GlideRide 2 but I just bought the last pair I could find in my size and need to start looking for a replacement soon. ( I can't find any GlideRide 3 in my size either )
Your a bit out@@Therunnerandthevalley123, Seth gained 171K subs on the 10-11 of June 2023 (depending on your time zone) and 172K on the 9th of March 2024 so that's 9 months.
I think its a matter of faith wether one would buy ON or not..for me, i am not 100% convinced in buying an ON CM because I am a casual Asics, Nike, Saucony runner and I am not brave enough to dip into the ON world considering the high prices for those shoes..Maybe one time, but the midsole is way too firm for me regarding the durometer. Btw I am a mid to heelstrike person on my easy and long runs but tend to change to the forefoot on faster paces/strides. Greetings from Germany :)
I tend to get on my forefoot when I'm running faster, midfoot when running easy. My friends know it's me catching up because of the sound of the forefoot striking the ground. I used to think this the typical human gait, but now it seems it's just me!
QOD: It's difficult to analyze your own footstrike. But, looking at the wear patterns on my shoes, it's mid-foot on my right foot and towards the outside edge of the heel on my left foot. I had plantar in my right foot 3 years ago and tried to run through it but couldn't land on my heel. Plantar is long gone but my right foot doesn't know it yet.
QD: Started off running with a heavy heel strike, have slowly drifted to mid-foot without trying over time as my body gets more efficient and my running improves.
Was forefoot but have transitioned to midfoot and improving my mechanics after my first couple marathons as I was getting foot pain. Seems to have improved form and no pain for close to a year :).

I’m really liking how On is finding their stride in their running line up now.
Somewhat agree, still mostly a fashion brand but they are trying to
as an overpriced & low durability shoe brand

Comparing this with the regular monster would be like a vs between Novablast and Superblast?
This looks fire
so what is this shoe? just a speedier version of cm2? trail? I don't get it

ON is too stiff for my old legs/feet.

QD - studies show most runners don't know their foot strike. They think they're forefoot but they're actually midfood.

Bible thumping necklace
It's called a scapula.
Price is $220 unfortunately
😱
Oh my! Was hoping for $200 max. That ON tax is really something.
It’ll be in the $150 range in about 8 months, just gotta be patient 😉
@@kalvin. 180-200 with big discounts.. You can get the CM 1 for 150 nowadays and the shoe is 2years old
I was really hyper about this shoe until I saw the price tag…

Seth cracked the huge milestone of 172k of subscribers. Congratulations!!!
Only took him 18 months... Maybe he can crack 173k before 5 years but gonna be tough.

Why not measure the shoes ? Instead of just going off of their spec sheet.

Mid-foot/heel striker leaning more to mid-foot. Try not to think about it much.
I begin midfoot, but with fatigue I tend to strike further toward my heel.
QD: forefoot but heel strike when I am out of gas (mile 22-23 of marathon)!
I think you are safe on embargo.., Canada shops are showing them off
Midfoot for most of my work, at around Threshold paces and up I move to forefoot.
I bought the CM2. Swimming in toe box. Returned them.
When does this release? It looks way better than the regular Cloud Monster 2
I switched form heel strike to mid-foot.
I am Mid-foot to Fore-foot striker.
Like 80% of runners Heel striker ❤
Midfoot/forefoot
