One of the reason why I love Yasmeen the most is becoz she never treated modeling as a lifestyle. She was never into self-promotion. It makes her even classier.

Just look at Versace spring summer 1991, and you'll understand. The only other model who also had a strong side-eye game was Shalom Harlowe.

Naomi and Yasmeen are a class of their own. Naomi is edgy, sassy and fierce whilst Yasmeen is classy, elegant and stylish. If I were to pick one id pick Yasmeen her walk is natural and her attitude is way better
Miss Ghauri for me! 1992 was her year. She opened and closed many shows, and was at her peak. Her walked was toned down in later years, but she maintained a very strong presence even with a less dramatic walk. Can't forget the green dress for versace spring/summer 1994 in which she looks like a marvel superhero with her statuesque silhouette.
Based on this video, I'll give it to Yasmeen. Yasmeen has a very unique walk that is impossible to replicate because one must have also her enviable hourglass figure to do it. Her waist is so petite, while her shoulders are broad and atheltic, and she has the right amount of curves at the right place. She is also taller than Naomi, and has a longer neck, which is why she has a more statuesque physique compared to Naomi's more muscular build, with surprisingly less curves. This makes Yasmeen the ideal mannequin for runway modeling, as her silhouette perfectly enhances any clothes she wears. But that is only one half of her fabulousness in the runway. Her movement and attitude are the other half that bring to life the garments and feel of the collection. The way her torso moves is graceful and seductive like the slythering of a snake, but down in her bottom half, those legs be galloping powerfully like a majestic horse, while her right arm be swinging aggressively like a boss ass bitch. This stark contrast creates a magnificent chemical reaction that is breathtaking to watch. And the attitude she carries looking all confident and fabulous is empowering. I would say Yasmeen has overall a more aggressive walk than Naomi's fabulous diva walk. But I think that is why Naomi's walk aged better. Naomi seems more calm and composed, hence it got a more classic look that is more adaptable to almost any fashion show regardless of time. Naomi's runway prime, however, was in the 2000s. That's when she truly mastered the art of walking. Overall, I would give the title of Queen of the Runway to Naomi because she has more longevity doing runway (continuing even till this day) and her walk aged better (though Yasmeen's walk might have been better compared to Naomi's 90s walk).
Yeah I feel like Naomi’s walk has aged better. But Yasmeen was great when it came to showing off clothes too, especially layered clothing. She managed to perfect pulling off jackets while spinning without disrupting the flow.

Yasmeen got my all time vote for all time runway model. Her editorial is less celebrated but still divine (esp w Azz. Alaia). About her walk, she was an intelligent runway but this video represent it poorly showing most of her video close up. She has many turn/strut/pose that been missed out here. As iconic as Naomi can be, i dont think she can beat Yasmeen in runway department.

Both are amazing! They are friends. Naomi is a strutter and is sassy with it. But Yasmeen is a graceful and captivating glider. Yasmeen has more presence too. It has to be Yasmeen cause she "invented a new way to walk on the runway". Thats a direct quote from Karl Largerfeld. And she is double jointed which means she can swing her hips wider than any model.

Both have very beautiful and confident walks...and both are very beautiful women..but here...Yasmeen has got very strong facial features..very broad shoulders that compliment her tapered waist and gives that enviable upper V section..which gives a grandness to the clothes she wear...and she looks taller...theres something Amazonian and athletic and prominent about her shoulders ..esp her long arms..longer legs.....and hence Yaass for Yasmeen Ghauri..she wins..its not just the strong swing effect walk..its also her strong features.
Totally agree with what you say. Yasmeen has an advatange to Naomi, regardless of walk, due to her more statuesque physique. Naomi's build is more muscular, but next to Yasmeen, she looks petite. Yasmeen looks like an Oscar trophy wearing the gowns, while Naomi also looks fabulous, but not the ideal mannequin with the optimal silhouette. And this says a lot considering it is very hard to upstage Naomi when it comes to physique.

There is a report put out sometime ago about how Pakistan women the distance between their ribcage and hip bone was long than most women.. thus giving Yasmeen a longer waistline then Naomi. So when Yasmeen walk her hips almost seem detached from her upper body and her shoulders didn't move like the other girls. SO it has nothing to do with her ethnicity what so ever. I'm not a big fan of extensions or wigs... I do hair and do extensions and i have seen how it can change a person perception of themselves with confidence... Which is more false and true to who they are. But this just my personal view point.
Sure women can or anyone for that matter can have a rib or 2 surgically remove to give that illusion... but Yasmeen has been blessed with a longer waistline than most models and you can see it in their walk.

Naomi in numerous times in her career has rocked short haircuts and short bobs with no extensions and still looked beautiful and killed it a vogue photospread with beverly peele is a great example of this. Dont see what extensions have to do with anything? Also now thats 2021 i think most ppl have come to the conclusion how much of the reports about her “attitude” was blown out of proportion.. shes a very direct and stern person hence why she still has a success career and loved by many designers

Yasmeen all day, everyday. She sets the bar. Perfection. Naomi was great but not as good as Yasmeen. Just that she stayed in modelling so her career is longer. No matter who, Yasmeen overshadowed everyone.
From the different videos I have watched, Yasmeen gets my vote - the main difference being - this might sound a bit odd - while their walks are sublime, it's the more purposeful & flowing movement of Yasmeen's arms/hands that add an extra allure. To me, Naomi's arms seem to hang and swing too freely & loosely, almost too relaxed, and Yasmeen uses her whole body to convey the beauty of each clothing item, and the arm/hand movement adds that extra bit of magnetism to Yasmeen's presence on the catwalk!

Yasmeen had the best silhouette out of all and on top of that, only three models so far have created a way of walking and those are naomi, gisele and Yasmeen. Karl Lagerfeld said that Yasmeen’s walk is the most difficult to replicate as you need to have a specific body and movement of legs .

Cheekbones can be maintained easily till 50s, my mom is her 56 and she still has very sharp high cheekbones. But you can still see slight lines between eyes and mouth, I must say. Its all genetic. I am in my 30s and I've inherited my father's genetic, soggy cheekbones 😂

Naomi continued her career coz modelling is all she can do. Yasmeen quit at her peak because modelling was only a fun thing for her, not a career & she went on to get an MBA and is a successful businesswoman with a family. If Yasmine continued, then we could compare.

Yes, Naomi is generally a more consistently good walker. Whereas Yasmeen at her best is a force of nature! Have you seen the Versace Spring and Fall 1991 shows? or the Oscar de la Renta Spring Summer 1992? Yasmeen is radiating goddess vibes!
