Family Matters just doesn't have that rewatch factor that easily translates through the generations. I love how Jessie brought up the fact that the nerd became the focal point of a show titled 'Family Matters'!!! Wake it up Ms. Woo!! 'A Different World', 'Fresh Prince', 'Living Single' and 'Martin' are much more relatable, even to this day! The importance in having a writer's room filled with people who look like and knows what it's like to be in the shoes of the characters they are writing has proven to be MONUMENTAL in why those shows and many others - have, and will continue to resonate with the black community. 'A Different World' made everyone want to go to college. That show deserved all the Emmys and a damn Nobel Peace Prize for that alone!
