It's no wonder that the Metroid series helped contribute to the gaming term "Metroidvania." It's simply a queen of its genre, and will be remembered for generations to come. Even though inspired by the Alien series, Metroid isn't always about horror. As players, we sat in silence at the wonderful soundtracks such as Norfair, Overworld, and Torvus bog/Lower Brinstar. This game invokes not only a sense of un-shakable fear, but also limitless wonder.
It’s literally the only reason that that genre exists, I don’t know why Castlevania is also put in that group, considering that I think it was like sixth or fifth game that is anything vaguely similar to a Metroid game
Fun Fact: at the point that piece of soundtrack was made, they weren't EMMI beeps, because the EMMI didn't exist for Samus Returns. They're sound effects that were used for atmospheric creatures sounds and got repurposed into EMMI sounds. It caught me off guard on first listen to.
Not all ambient/atmospheric video game compilations are truly just that...there are often a few boss battles or other more upbeat pieces mixed in for whatever reason. This one though, you really did a great job of keeping it mostly on task. I listen to this one frequently while I work or attempt to sleep. Great job!
I just wanted to thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for this compilation. I put it on as background noise fairly often when writing, Journaling, or trying to draw. I love its mix of mystery, exotic alien place no one's been, and eerie that the Metroid Series has done really well over the years in their soundtracks.
Im glad you included one from other m but amnhonestly shocked you didnt include more, it has great ambient tracks of this nature. Also not everybody hates other m. I love it, and yes its story as well.
It's interesting how the first track, which you credit from Samus Returns (I haven't played that one yet) has very similar beeping to the EMMIs in Metroid Dread. I can see where they got the inspiration.
Listening to this fresh off of my first Dread playthrough, and my immediate reaction upon hearing those beeps was to mute my computer, lol... dread really is a fitting title.

You guys are sleeping on Samus returns, thats my favorite game of all time I enjoyed it more than dread, the music and gameplay are just so good in Samus returns
uuhh.. sorry, but after playing Metroid: Dread, hitting me with the "Area 3, Sector 1" from Metroid: Samus Returns right at the beginning video is NOT relaxing at all. Those EMMI type beeps make me stressed out

OH SAME. i legit turned my head immediately to see what track is playing *and why are there EMMIs*
I'm gonna make a EMMI then accidentally let it free
The EMMI beeps used for the remastering of the ambient "music" for Return of Samus was a startling effect for me.
So sorry to hear about your old channel, you deserve better. Thanks for the great compilations.

Lets goooooooooo, your metroid music videos are awesome, Infinite thx Vapid
This is definitely one of my favorite playlists. I've listened to it all the way through countless times.
Reading through these comments is truly uplifting. Thank you!
this is GREAT. Been a metroid fan for 30 years, and there's some tracks on here i've never heard. thanks vapid!
28:00 yes!
41:28 Double yes!
That underwater fusion theme is sick, totally forgot about it
The metroid series always has decent music that can invoke deep emotions
listening to this while I develop my own metroidvania and it's the perfect mix
Nice!!! Hope it turns out well
Something I appreciate about your compilations is I don't have to adjust the volume on song switches
This is going to be with me for the rest of my days, truly a piece of art! Tks for the post again
i think the first theme confirms that EMMIs were on SR388

Why you repeat images so many times there are thousands you can use.
Just gonna say it. SA-X is more terrifying than EMMIs.
Well, EMMIs causes deseperations feelings becouse is more impredictable, SA-X is more of fear and easy to avoid

Yeah Nintendo has a copyright on all tracks. But as long as you use it under fair use there isn’t a problem
Naw this isnt relaxing it's giving me flashbacks
