Morals aside, if there is money, people will always scam. If you lived there, you might do it when facing poverty. And, at least he's not physically threatening you. The only way this will stop is through public awareness and phone companies filtering these calls out. Neither will ever be 100%.

What needs to happen is on every show on tv and every bank information telling people what is going on with scams. People must tell the old folks in their lives to hang up on those calls and delete the junk they get on their computer. The way to stop scamming is through knowledge.
In college, I briefly worked at a scam call centre in the USA. It was advertised and the job involved calling people asking for charity donations for various charities. I joined thinking it would be great to have a job where I help the community. After a week or two, I started to work out that it was a scam when I tried to look up the charities, and then worked a few more days before quitting. One group was ICOPS - Illinois Council of Police and Sheriffs, which both I, and the people I was calling confused with FOP (Fraternal Order of Police). Another one was a veterans group - I can't remember the name.

As a person growing up in low income, if I found out someone did this to a loved one that gets by check to check this would anger me extremely. Yeah I was so confused at the "run over" part. I think it might be that he tried to fake an accent during calls, and that part stayed. But, it might be that this guy is faking it. I really hope he's not, but like he said, always keep that 1% of doubt.
If we can see his face I can't imagine what people in the call center will know. when you see somebody everyday and you hear them everyday you know their face immediately. This is one of the poorest attempts to try to hide someone's identity unless you do want him to get caught but of course this is all about making your RUclips channel better
Pretty sure hes moved on by now but you have a good point. There's prolly a good reason for them to feel comfortable lowering his anonymity like this given how many pains they took before this. Personally i think more should have been done, like blurring his face even more and using a voice changer. It wouldnt have lowered the quality of the video at all so i kinda disagree with the opinion that it was done for views. If hes quitting and somewhere safe then there was no reason for it.
The story about Joel was amazing and the 2nd movie about him was good, so there should be a movie about this guy, the private investigator, and you as well, because that spy level event that happened where Steve had to go in and put a USB in a computer but Jim Browning wasn't answering, Steve was running out of time and one of the last emails you received from the undercover scammer was to tell his story, this is his life and then you didn't hear from him for a while... That would make an epic film.

Instead, have the red dot facing you, giving you the best quality possible, with the mic either vertical to you or horizontal to you, as long as the mesh is in front of you and the red dot is facing your direction.

Lately, our callers are hanging up when asked for their name, a call back number, or company. Previously, they just went in circles. The callback number seems to create more hang ups. Now, if I could get them to stop calling!

As someone who has been working for a call center as well, cold calling people and trying to sell them shit they don't need... I can confirm that the way most call centers if not all, get the potential customers info, Is super fricking shady... People signing up for contests, people clicking agree without reading the small text etc... My old boss would always say - "I know doing this (cold calling) suck. But remember, they agreed to be contacted by us and If you put pressure on them and don't give them time to think, you'll most likely get a sale!"... We would often be so quick, that people didn't notice they said yes to a subscription instead of a one time purchase... We were also told that older people are easier to persuade... It's a shit job, and I don't understand how people can stand the constant angry people on the phone, and most importantly how they can stand having that on their conscience.. I know I couldn't... reason why I quit.

I get scam calls from the "CRA" and they say I'll be arrested but then when I talk to an "agent" they immediately hang up.

Lately, our callers are hanging up when asked for their name, a call back number, or company. Previously, they just went in circles. The callback number seems to create more hang ups. Now, if I could get them to stop calling!
He will be recognized on his voice and probably his face. There's some very distinct characteristics.
Someone asked about the accent. CLEARLY the ppl that get scammed aren't worried about a accent or red flags they're worried about jail. The accent doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam anyway.
I hope Steve was able to find work away from this.

But isn't he still working in a call center scamming people still as he's giving out information I don't get it because if he's not really scamming people don't you think that the call center wouldn't even have him working
Also, I know this is unrelated, but your Blue Yeti is laying down. The microphones inside it are facing forwards. So you should be talking to the "Blue" logo. You get much better audio like that. In your current configuration it's the same as talking to someone while facing 90 degrees away from them.

No, none of this is honest. If you listen AND pay attention, keeping details in mind, Steve says he has a wife, but in this "interview" he calls her his gf. NO ONE, NOT EVEN AN "ALOOF" MAN would have that bug a mix up. He also has a dupers delight smile on his terribly bad blurred face.
Ben himself had made a big error; he claimed they have saved many from losing MILLIONS, yet in the very next video he states HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS. What kind of crap are they trying to run on us??!!
Another thing I forgot to mention- Steve let his real accent (british) slip iirc 14:44 or about there. This is absolutely ridiculous. This is only from 3 videos that I caught. I'm starting to believe PG IS indeed some sort of scammed himself 🤬
As someone who has been working for a call center as well, cold calling people and trying to sell them shit they don't need... I can confirm that the way most call centers if not all, get the potential customers info, Is super fricking shady... People signing up for contests, people clicking agree without reading the small text etc... My old boss would always say - "I know doing this (cold calling) suck. But remember, they agreed to be contacted by us and If you put pressure on them and don't give them time to think, you'll most likely get a sale!"... We would often be so quick, that people didn't notice they said yes to a subscription instead of a one time purchase... We were also told that older people are easier to persuade... It's a shit job, and I don't understand how people can stand the constant angry people on the phone, and most importantly how they can stand having that on their conscience.. I know I couldn't... reason why I quit.
