I so want to see him take that one more step: a low jacked Xlite SoftPhone (the app the scammers use to send/receive calls from their computer). Xlite is open source (for the most part). It wouldn't be difficult to just have it filter highly targeted countries (US, AU, UK, etc.), then encrypt and upload the number to a cloud server Pierogi's people monitor. They'd get every number the scammer called or was-called-by in real-time. I'm confident it is also illegal, because it's basically an unwarranted remedial wire-tap, but I wouldn't expect any charges filed (at least not from these colostomy bags).

The fact there is someone like you going out to save these people is incredible but also shows that there is a massive void in the policing of our society. • @XTJ7

I agree, it is a pity they are targeting vulnerable people. Also if she did end up calling her bank, it is good. When in doubt just call your bank anyways. They can check and make sure. And if you are the one who initiated the call to your bank, at least you can be sure it is not a scammer you're talking to.
That being said, people need to be aware of Google ads. Sometimes if you Google for a specific problem or phone number, scammers have an ad showing up in the first position. So it is best to go directly to the banks website and retrieve the number if you don't have it saved already.

The aid will not be restored until the Indian government cracks down on these criminal enterprises and shuts them down. It is ridiculous that countries give aid while scammers are allowed to operate and steal from citizens whose taxes are paid to help India. He was smart and told "medicare" if you were who you said you are, you would know my address. I asked him if he gave them and information and to hang up. I then educated him as well regarding the main things to look out for from scammers. I even called the number back on my phone to show him it wouldn't go through. He had yet another call come back in and he learned to block them and I immediately called back to show him again it would not go through and was yet another, or the same, scammer. Your phone number is being sold to many scammers. They use computer VOIP CRM system where data is fed to computer and it keeps repeating calls in many computers until you pick it up. May be it's good time to switch your number and be mindful of sharing your number anywhere, everywhere on the internet. Blocking their numbers is meaningless as they are random auto generated numbers.

Here's how I avoid that. My default ringtone is silence. Yep, silence. Then I add people who I want to be able to contact me to my address book and give them a proper ringtone so that I hear their calls. I do use voicemail at all. Everyone who knows me and wants to leave a message knows to text their message if I don't answer. Plus I have a Google Pixel - worth every penny - that phone auto drops known scammers and gives me the option to screen suspected scam callers without picking up.

I was like a sports fan watching a game 😂 My sister got scammed just last month trying to call Alaska Airlines to get flights for the kids cause she's getting married in Vegas in February. Luckily she has a good bank, it was flagged and she was able to get all her money back. Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky but we are lucky to have people like you and Jim Browning, and everyone else putting so much on the line to help innocent people and make those scammers pay for what they're doing. ❤

I thought I was too smart to get scammed. Scammers are psychopathic criminals who will do anything to get your hard earned money.

I know this isn’t what you meant, but I don’t want scammer hate to be misconstrued as Indian hate or Kulkata hate. India isn’t the problem. Indian people are not the problem. Kulkata isn’t the problem. These scammers are individuals committing crimes. Assuming that they’re based in Kulkata is a step in a dangerous direction of assuming that all scammers are Indian, assuming all Indians are scammers, etc… which we all know isn’t the case.
And again, I’m not saying that you’re saying that, but the assumption was already made about where they are located. It’s not a far jump to start making other assumptions when we have no idea how true they are. They very well could have been working remote from their house outside of Kulkata. Ya know? We have no proof that they are there, specifically.

@@PtylerBeats Yes, we have proof that they're there, because Pierogi's other videos have proven it. These call centers have 3 people working in a legitimate customer service department that the police won't investigate the other 25 people who are actually running a scam, because these scammers will point at the 3 actual people.
