  • Next project on the channel that is really exciting for us, 1958 Ford F100 Long bed and 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor chassis swap. In this video, we tear down the Crown Victoria to it's frame as well as removing the body of the F100. This series of videos will highlight how to do this conversion as simple and cost effective as possible. We are shooting for $2000 initial budget to have a running driving shop truck. In the future, we will make improvements after we enjoy it for awhile. Also, you know me, this is staying patina!

    This is the first time I have seen your channel, and it didn't take me long to like & subscribe. If you want an inexpensive way to get brand new body bushings, look no further than your local sporting goods store. Hockey pucks make for a great replacement, all you need to do is drill a hole in the center of it, and if the original bushing cups are in good shape, you can wire wheel them, paint them, and you're good to go.

    when he was dropping the clutch to have the reartires spinning the whiole middle of the car flexed up
    about being able to turn the front wheels , think if you cut intoo each bend in the fender lip bend it out slightly and add a pie-sliver piece of metal intoo the caps the outer part of the fender comes out far enough to be able to steer without giving the fender a weird shape , would be nice to have some extra not too crusty fenders where you can cut the pie shaped pieces out of as that wouldve save a lot of hammering flat sheetmetal intoo shape while welding it in
    as for spacers to raise the body up slightly , wat i seen used are hockey pucks there about the right thickness cheap , plastic so whont rust or corrode and yoonly need to drill a centerhole to fit them

    • @BestDamnShopAround
      @BestDamnShopAround  Год назад

      Agreed! A different fuel tank would be ideal but being that we're on a tight budget for the first iteration of this truck we're sticking with the stock tank and doing a bridge style bed floor like you see on a notched frame truck. Almost full depth front and rear with a high center.

      Unfortunately the bed section has the get cut out and brought up 3-4” not matter what.
      The cv frame kicks up much more in the rear than a traditional truck frame. Additionally there’s a horizontal truss that spans the entire width of the kickup. So ultimately getting rid of the tank does change the vertical height of the bed protrusion.
