Imagine if they focused on DLC for that game instead of giving us Superstars and Jamboree. But on the other hand, why weren’t more N64 boards made as DLC for Superstars? That makes no sense. That was the perfect game for DLC and they flat out did nothing.

Just found out Super Mario Party Jamboree takes up 6.5 gigabytes of storage. This is A LOT compared to Super Mario Party, only taking up 2.9 gigabytes of storage. So at this point, were expecting a lot of content to be in this game just like Nintendo said in the announcement trailer.
It'd be nice to see another brand new board that we dont know about, as well as seeing a MP3 board would be nice! Considering how Nintendo did MP3 so dirty with the boards in Superstars, only giving it one board.
The Nintendo website says "With 7 boards in all" - we won't be getting more than 7 boards. My guess is that the crack in the wall is a shortcut to the minigame mode area which is equally blocked up at the start
@@JoshhMarshh I saw that a couple of days ago, but the problems I have with the website saying that is… 1. It’s worded in a way that sounds more like a marketing phrase to describe the advertised amount of boards in a way that sounds like a lot. Just like calling this game “bolder”. 2. If they wanted to keep the extra boards a secret, they would just be advertising it like it’s only 7. They’ve done that already with previous Mario Parties. 3. Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity also had a misleading announcement that made it seem like the game was the story from 100 years ago instead of a new story on a new timeline, Again, marketing strategy. 4. This one is the least important, but that’s NoA, and things get mistranslated or changed when converting the text. I don’t think that’s the case here, but it’s a factor.
@@papyrussemi2848 To be fair, he probably doesn’t want to get his hopes up, which is fair. I think that’s why I resisted so much when I first saw bits of evidence. Like, if he’s a giant MP3 fan, and it seems like there’s more boards and one or more will be from MP3 just to find out that nothing else is there, that’s a total bummer!
The same way Nintendo said the Booster Course Pass was Courses only and eventually added characters. Might be a rough example, but I don’t think this is a stretch at all. Just because Nintendo says this is what to expect, doesn’t mean it’s the limit.
I totally think they should do that, but it would probably be generic bowser minions instead. Hopefully I’m wrong about that though!! That, or they would make small Bowser clones instead of one giant one.
Great video! I'm going to prepare myself for it just being seven HOWEVER, your analysis was super convincing. Creepy Cavern would be PERFECT for that area. I don't understand marketing this as the "biggest Mario Party ever" IF you don't surpass or even at least match MP1's amount of boards. 10 boards- 5 new, 5 classic, would definitely be enough to make this a legendary party. We could truly use a "spooky" board and a "winter themed board" to complete things and giving us Creepy Cavern and Chilly Waters would bring us some much needed Mario Party 3 rep. Only remade MP3 board we've gotten is Woody Woods in Superstars, which I wasn't a major fan of so I'd be happy for some more!
Yeah, I will definitely be discussing NDCube’s strategy with legacy content in a future video because, while I absolutely love Western Land and Rainbow Castle, it was bizarre those were the choices, which is another reason why I think there’s more boards. So odd to do 3 remade boards from MP1&2… but only 1 from MP3.
I will take Nintendos word for it. They are claiming this is the biggest Mario Party yet, so they have to have more than 7 Boards. If they are lying it would be false advertising.
It would be so weird if they’re were like “Oh, well it’s bigger just because of the character roster and minigames.” or “Well, it’s bigger than the last 3 home consoles we did.” But Nintendo is weird… but not weird enough to put a design on that wall that mean nothing!!!

Only 5 boards remade for Superstars with no free updates or DLC was crazy! That’s why I feel like maybe 5 remade boards for this game sounds crazy… but I still think there’s a chance.

@@Literatez Me too. Like, if for no other reason, I hope they do Eternal Star to fix my biggest issue which is 3 courses for the warp pads. It’s so easy to figure out which one goes where, and I wish there was, like, 10 of them, or if it was just random every time. It’s such a great board with bad replayability.

I feel like if it’s 10 boards, Creepy Cavern and Deep Bloober Sea are the most likely choices. Like, Creepy Cavern is my least favorite MP3 board, but I’m so convinced that’s the cavern, and while I think Waluigi’s Island and Pirate Bay have a shot, Waluigi’s Island seems like it might have too similar of a vibe to Goomba’s Lagoon, and I just don’t see them remaking a 4th MP2 board in this game.

Ya know, I guess it could be a cave that takes you underwater to Deep Bloober sea!! In fact, maybe that cave just takes you to a board that isn’t outdoors, like Luigi’s Engine Room, or maybe Bowser Land is indoors… even though it doesn’t look like it is, but it could be.

I think there’s going to be a design, or multiple designs, covering the mountain to signal it as the Bowser map. It would be kind boring if the design was mostly the same as it is right now. So, maybe a Bowser statue on top? Although, we already have a giant Bowser statue in another part of the world, so I feel like it’ll be something else.
In the e-shop when you go to preorder the game, the description says something like "7 boards in all" which makes me thing that there will only be 7 boards. Now I'm not sure if it's possible they could be saying 7 boards only for there to be hidden and unlockable boards or not, but it is very weird that there is a crack in the wall on the board game island. Don't get me wrong, I would love for there to be as many boards as possible because it will lead to more to check out and play, though I'm not entirely sure if it's possible or not.
@@mysticalaces8623 In olden days, they used to advertise 5 boards in the game when there were 6, but wanted to keep the final board a secret. That being said, there is no guarantee the crack in the wall is a board. Maybe inside that cave it’s just a stupid gallery of layouts of the original boards or something weird like that where it involves the boards/completion of unlocking the boards and isn’t a board itself.

Well, yeah. I pointed out that Bowser’s Keep, Western Land, and Mario’s Rainbow Castle are all being built, meaning they’re unlockables. Once they’re unlocked, I think that’s when the other possible unlockable boards will start being built.
Well going by what u said u are definitely on to something like I had a gut feeling we’re goona get atleast another 1-2 unlockable boards and yes for Mario party 3 I have a feeling it’s either the 3 you said Chilly waters, Waluigis island and creepy cavern I honestly think 1-2 out of the 3 will be chosen
Yeah, I can't decide between Deep Bloober Sea or Waluigi's Island. Waluigi's Island is the more favorited board, but I feel like Goomba's Lagoon has too similar of an atmosphere, whereas Deep Blooper Sea is different because it's underwater. But if they're doing Chilly Waters, I feel like Pirate Bay has a good chance since half that map is a beach.

Anyways i think there is a secret 8th board, i never noticed that marking the past few time watching the trailer, definitely interesting to point out as it does look like its hiding something. Now an extra 5 boards would be awesome and i like the theory of there possibility being GameCube mario party boards, that's would be so awesome to have. But we shall see in the September or October direct if there is more boards or if there is anything else new to show (which im sure there is lol) anyways good video and breakdown on the possibility of more boards, it would make sense :)

I'm betting that two of these potential secret boards are Creepy Cavern (the cave) and Koopa's Seaside Soiree (the beach), the blank patch in the top left is a custom board mode (or at least something like Dungeon Builder in the Link's Awakening remake), and the suspicious wall breaks when you beat the other boards to reveal a spaceport and rocket ship to take you to a new space board.
I don't think we'll ever get a custom board maker. I think that would be far more difficult to implement than people realize considering what makes a board great is it's gimmick as opposed to the layout.
That's why I proposed something akin to the Dungeon Builder in Link's Awakening, where you just stick together pre-made chunks of board and use some sort of default gimmick. Of course, if a board maker doesn't happen and the cave to the right *is* the entrance to King Bowser's Keep, then I will accept the cracked wall being Creepy Cavern and the blank area being the rocket ship.
Im expecting them to release this, then next year when thw new switch comes out they will rereleass the game as Super Mario Party Jamboree Deluxe, where there will be multiple new boards and characters
@@ItsKevRA I was thinking that. And even if they did end up porting Jamboree over, I could see them making any potential DLC available for both platforms. The only reason they didn't bring the "Deluxe" content to Wii U's Mario Kart 8 was because that was a dead system and they wanted to prioritize the Switch. We're on the precipice of Switch 2 and the OG switch is still selling well, so I think they'd still prioritize both platforms for potential DLC.
i really like the idea of getting dlc packs, it'd be a good thing to keep people from twiddling their thumbs waiting for the switch 2 to come out and if the rumours are true that the switch 2 is backwards compatible then it could help advertise jamboree as a playable on switch 2 thing and help momentum there, i think there's a lot to gain from paid dlc for this game in terms of what the whole packs could be it makes sense to just have a board, a character or 2 and a dozenish minigames, all classic, all non-returning from superstars, hopefully with some handheld representation and i think it would be nice if some of the classic coin collecting minigames were converted into koopathlon minigames, just a few packs like that would be amazing to see, but since this is nd cube you really never know but im just enjoying how this game is giving so much to talk about it's always nice to see plenty of discussion :)
I just don’t see DLC as being a thing. I mean, it could be, but I don’t think so. Like, having those areas on the island just be DLC as if they had planned all along to release them after launch sounds odd to me, but then adding a bunch of boards around this island after that also sounds odd. On the bright side, I don’t think Nintendo will be twirling their thumbs until the next gen console releases. This releases in Oct, Mario and Luigi in November, DKR in January, and then I think we’re getting the next Switch early next year!
I feel that this is where the DLC for Mario Party Superstars went, maybe Mario's Rainbow Castle and Western Land were planned to be in this game, but Superstars didnt sell as well as Super Mario Party, so they maybe decided to make another game and put them in there
@@PeachyFanboy It did sell as well though. Yes, Super currently has sold 20 million while Superstars has only sold 12, but Super has been out twice as long. If you go back a few years, Super had only sold 13 million copies, which is a little more than Superstars, but barely. Plus, Super announced online play and was was around during the year of the pandemic when people were buying more systems and games than usual because they couldn’t leave their home.
I don't know how to feel about Western Land and Rainbow castle being in Super Mario Party Of course I'm happy they are bringing them back but on the other hand , it would've been much better if they were in Superstars alongside one Bowser Board In Super Mario Party they should focus on new and amazing boards , while the legacy content resides in the superstar series. This whole situation feels odd.

@@MarioandJulius I have a lot of theories about why there’s no GCube or Wii representation, some I’ve discussed before, but I’ll mostly talking about several possible reasons in my third Jamboree video.
I'd like to see more than 7 boards but im not going to get my hopes up, 7 is a lot when looking at the last 2 or 3 games so its probably all where going to get. However I agree there is probably something behind that X, if not a 8th board then maybe a trophy room or stats room that only unlocks when you've played at least once?

Like, why put ALL the boards in in one area with no extra modes… then throw in a non-board over there later? Like, if it’s not a board, I feel like it’ll be a stupid decoration or something. Not an area you can explore, but something like a star that signals game completion or something. Similar to MP3 have character faces carved into the mountain in the background when you completed the story mode.

@@deatheater810 Gamecube needs to be its own thing where they bring back and fix the orb system in MP5-7. Plus, the N64 games came out first, so it makes sense to do them first. They also look FAR WORSE graphically. I mean, when I play MP4-7 on my Gamecube with my friends, we all think they look pretty great. Hell, we make fun of MP8 because it looks worse despite being on a newer system lol Meanwhile, N64 graphics looks fucking awful and are a complete eyesore. Last but not least, MP1&2 are getting the biggest benefit out of being made because MP1 boards had a random item system, and MP2 you could only hold one item. That’s why some people argue Woody Woods was worse in Superstars because MP3 had a crazier item selection and you could already hold 3 items on that map.
I refuse to believe NDcube is finally getting their shit together, I can’t let myself get hyped for this, to many big letdowns in modern gaming. It’s a nothing burger, hold the bread.
I feel bad for NDcube; they finally have a promising game. But people are still like, "I. WANT. MOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEE!" Now instead of talking about finally getting a REAL Mario Party game, people are going to be making videos about "how much of a disappointment Jamboree was" like superstars because it didn't have 48 boards, 50 characters, 200 minigames, or DLC. 7 boards is the most we've gotten since Mario Party 5 in 2003! (Mario Party 9, if you include "those" boards.). It's also not about how powerful the machine is or how much storage they can use that limits how big the game can be; it's about creativity and time. NDcube's team is like 1/3 of Hudson Soft's, which (along with yearly games being incredibly hard to do) explains why the games went from every year to every 3 years. And on the creative side, we've had hundreds of minigames and dozens of boards, so they're obviously trying to come up with as many boards as they can without repetition, sacrificing size, or sacrificing quality. Don't get me wrong, I would love 8+ boards, but I recently played MP6 with 6 boards, and I still had fun for hours and felt there was lots of variety, so 7 is enough.
Did my video say this game will be a disappointment if we didn’t get more? Nope. Also, I have said repeatedly on this channel that more doesn’t mean better. Mario Party 5 had more boards than usual, but they all suck because they had no gimmicks and just focused on making the new capsule system. And Superstars is my favorite MP game despite it having less boards than usual. I have also said we don’t need a ton of new maps, because real board game players spend at least 40 bucks for just one map, so having a multiple for 60 bucks is awesome. But I saw evidence that there might be more unlockable boards. That’s what the video was about, which I feel the need to point out because it seemed like you just came here to comment that you’re unhappy people are talking about more possible boards. I could be wrong, but you had a lot to say about virtually nothing I said in my video.

That’s why I started making videos because I would be guy making the tldr comments and figured a video form for my word vomit would be way better 🤣 And I will say I understand your concern, but I don’t think people are going to be upset with the amount of boards even if it is seven. In fact, almost all the videos and comments I’ve seen are people acting like this game will be the best game because of how many boards it has. I actually saw a kid just yesterday post a video that said what determines the best party is the amount of boards it has, which is why MP10 is the best because it has, like, 15 boards when you factor in the amiibo boards. My next video will kind of me being the yang to most people’s yin, because while I do think this game has the potential to be good, everyone thought Super looked great… and then it turned out to be the worst home console Mario Party ever, and it wasn’t because it had a small amount of boards. It’s because those boards sucked, and while the new 5 boards could be great, the could actually be terrible. We won’t know until we play them.
My dream would be if announced a DLC pack in waves and we get 2 new boards from each version of mario party + 5 minigames in multiple waves like they did for Mario Kart. That DLC could be announced for release alongside the Switch 2 release to promote both together

My guess is that Switch 2 will launch with a new Mario Kart and they’ll do a booster course pass for that game instead, which honestly makes sense. I won’t fault them for that at all lol

1. It’s worded in a way that sounds more like a marketing phrase to describe the advertised amount of boards in a way that sounds like a lot. Just like calling this game “bolder”.
2. If they wanted to keep the extra boards a secret, they would just be advertising it like it’s only 7. They’ve done that already with previous Mario Parties.
3. Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity also had a misleading announcement that made it seem like the game was the story from 100 years ago instead of a new story on a new timeline, Again, marketing strategy.
4. This one is the least important, but that’s NoA, and things get mistranslated or changed when converting the text. I don’t think that’s the case here, but it’s a factor.

@@papyrussemi2848 To be fair, he probably doesn’t want to get his hopes up, which is fair. I think that’s why I resisted so much when I first saw bits of evidence. Like, if he’s a giant MP3 fan, and it seems like there’s more boards and one or more will be from MP3 just to find out that nothing else is there, that’s a total bummer!
The same way Nintendo said the Booster Course Pass was Courses only and eventually added characters. Might be a rough example, but I don’t think this is a stretch at all. Just because Nintendo says this is what to expect, doesn’t mean it’s the limit.
If they bring back Eternal Star, they could replace the seven Koopa Kids with the Koopalings
I totally think they should do that, but it would probably be generic bowser minions instead. Hopefully I’m wrong about that though!!

Great video! I'm going to prepare myself for it just being seven HOWEVER, your analysis was super convincing. Creepy Cavern would be PERFECT for that area. I don't understand marketing this as the "biggest Mario Party ever" IF you don't surpass or even at least match MP1's amount of boards. 10 boards- 5 new, 5 classic, would definitely be enough to make this a legendary party. We could truly use a "spooky" board and a "winter themed board" to complete things and giving us Creepy Cavern and Chilly Waters would bring us some much needed Mario Party 3 rep. Only remade MP3 board we've gotten is Woody Woods in Superstars, which I wasn't a major fan of so I'd be happy for some more!
Yeah, I will definitely be discussing NDCube’s strategy with legacy content in a future video because, while I absolutely love Western Land and Rainbow Castle, it was bizarre those were the choices, which is another reason why I think there’s more boards. So odd to do 3 remade boards from MP1&2… but only 1 from MP3.
I will take Nintendos word for it.
They are claiming this is the biggest Mario Party yet, so they have to have more than 7 Boards.
If they are lying it would be false advertising.
It would be so weird if they’re were like “Oh, well it’s bigger just because of the character roster and minigames.” or “Well, it’s bigger than the last 3 home consoles we did.”

What's driving me nuts is that many Mario Party Fans seem to think that 7 Boards are enough.
I mean an ongoing Franchise should become bigger in terms of Quality and content, so that way of thinking perplexes me

@@Literatez Me too. Like, if for no other reason, I hope they do Eternal Star to fix my biggest issue which is 3 courses for the warp pads. It’s so easy to figure out which one goes where, and I wish there was, like, 10 of them, or if it was just random every time. It’s such a great board with bad replayability.

I feel like if it’s 10 boards, Creepy Cavern and Deep Bloober Sea are the most likely choices. Like, Creepy Cavern is my least favorite MP3 board, but I’m so convinced that’s the cavern, and while I think Waluigi’s Island and Pirate Bay have a shot, Waluigi’s Island seems like it might have too similar of a vibe to Goomba’s Lagoon, and I just don’t see them remaking a 4th MP2 board in this game.

Same. Like, I think that’s why I was so against believing it at first… but there was just too much evidence to not believe it’s likely. Guaranteed? Of course not! There is a chance the marking on the wall, is like, a gold star you get for completing the story mode or something lame. I just think more evidence supports the idea of it being a board.

the bowser stage is inside the big stone structure on the right. so what are they building on top of it? 🤔
I think there’s going to be a design, or multiple designs, covering the mountain to signal it as the Bowser map. It would be kind boring if the design was mostly the same as it is right now. So, maybe a Bowser statue on top? Although, we already have a giant Bowser statue in another part of the world, so I feel like it’ll be something else.
In the e-shop when you go to preorder the game, the description says something like "7 boards in all" which makes me thing that there will only be 7 boards. Now I'm not sure if it's possible they could be saying 7 boards only for there to be hidden and unlockable boards or not, but it is very weird that there is a crack in the wall on the board game island.
Don't get me wrong, I would love for there to be as many boards as possible because it will lead to more to check out and play, though I'm not entirely sure if it's possible or not.
@@mysticalaces8623 In olden days, they used to advertise 5 boards in the game when there were 6, but wanted to keep the final board a secret. That being said, there is no guarantee the crack in the wall is a board. Maybe inside that cave it’s just a stupid gallery of layouts of the original boards or something weird like that where it involves the boards/completion of unlocking the boards and isn’t a board itself.

Well, yeah. I pointed out that Bowser’s Keep, Western Land, and Mario’s Rainbow Castle are all being built, meaning they’re unlockables. Once they’re unlocked, I think that’s when the other possible unlockable boards will start being built.

Yeah, I can't decide between Deep Bloober Sea or Waluigi's Island. Waluigi's Island is the more favorited board, but I feel like Goomba's Lagoon has too similar of an atmosphere, whereas Deep Blooper Sea is different because it's underwater. But if they're doing Chilly Waters, I feel like Pirate Bay has a good chance since half that map is a beach.

I'm betting that two of these potential secret boards are Creepy Cavern (the cave) and Koopa's Seaside Soiree (the beach), the blank patch in the top left is a custom board mode (or at least something like Dungeon Builder in the Link's Awakening remake), and the suspicious wall breaks when you beat the other boards to reveal a spaceport and rocket ship to take you to a new space board.
I don't think we'll ever get a custom board maker. I think that would be far more difficult to implement than people realize considering what makes a board great is it's gimmick as opposed to the layout.
That's why I proposed something akin to the Dungeon Builder in Link's Awakening, where you just stick together pre-made chunks of board and use some sort of default gimmick.
Of course, if a board maker doesn't happen and the cave to the right *is* the entrance to King Bowser's Keep, then I will accept the cracked wall being Creepy Cavern and the blank area being the rocket ship.

Im expecting them to release this, then next year when thw new switch comes out they will rereleass the game as Super Mario Party Jamboree Deluxe, where there will be multiple new boards and characters
I think the next gen Switch will be backwards compatible and that they won’t need to make a Deluxe version. Could be wrong though.
@@ItsKevRA I was thinking that. And even if they did end up porting Jamboree over, I could see them making any potential DLC available for both platforms. The only reason they didn't bring the "Deluxe" content to Wii U's Mario Kart 8 was because that was a dead system and they wanted to prioritize the Switch. We're on the precipice of Switch 2 and the OG switch is still selling well, so I think they'd still prioritize both platforms for potential DLC.

i really like the idea of getting dlc packs, it'd be a good thing to keep people from twiddling their thumbs waiting for the switch 2 to come out and if the rumours are true that the switch 2 is backwards compatible then it could help advertise jamboree as a playable on switch 2 thing and help momentum there, i think there's a lot to gain from paid dlc for this game
in terms of what the whole packs could be it makes sense to just have a board, a character or 2 and a dozenish minigames, all classic, all non-returning from superstars, hopefully with some handheld representation and i think it would be nice if some of the classic coin collecting minigames were converted into koopathlon minigames, just a few packs like that would be amazing to see, but since this is nd cube you really never know but im just enjoying how this game is giving so much to talk about it's always nice to see plenty of discussion :)
I just don’t see DLC as being a thing. I mean, it could be, but I don’t think so. Like, having those areas on the island just be DLC as if they had planned all along to release them after launch sounds odd to me, but then adding a bunch of boards around this island after that also sounds odd.
On the bright side, I don’t think Nintendo will be twirling their thumbs until the next gen console releases. This releases in Oct, Mario and Luigi in November, DKR in January, and then I think we’re getting the next Switch early next year!

I feel that this is where the DLC for Mario Party Superstars went, maybe Mario's Rainbow Castle and Western Land were planned to be in this game, but Superstars didnt sell as well as Super Mario Party, so they maybe decided to make another game and put them in there
@@PeachyFanboy It did sell as well though. Yes, Super currently has sold 20 million while Superstars has only sold 12, but Super has been out twice as long. If you go back a few years, Super had only sold 13 million copies, which is a little more than Superstars, but barely. Plus, Super announced online play and was was around during the year of the pandemic when people were buying more systems and games than usual because they couldn’t leave their home.

Of course I'm happy they are bringing them back but on the other hand , it would've been much better if they were in Superstars alongside one Bowser Board
In Super Mario Party they should focus on new and amazing boards , while the legacy content resides in the superstar series.

@@MarioandJulius I have a lot of theories about why there’s no GCube or Wii representation, some I’ve discussed before, but I’ll mostly talking about several possible reasons in my third Jamboree video.
I'd like to see more than 7 boards but im not going to get my hopes up, 7 is a lot when looking at the last 2 or 3 games so its probably all where going to get.
However I agree there is probably something behind that X, if not a 8th board then maybe a trophy room or stats room that only unlocks when you've played at least once?

Like, if it’s not a board, I feel like it’ll be a stupid decoration or something. Not an area you can explore, but something like a star that signals game completion or something. Similar to MP3 have character faces carved into the mountain in the background when you completed the story mode.

i think they need to get boards from the gamecube era they are focusing too much on the N64 boards superstars all N64 boards, Nintendo online with mario party 1 2 3 and now they have 2 N64 boards in jamboree show some gamecube love
@@deatheater810 Gamecube needs to be its own thing where they bring back and fix the orb system in MP5-7. Plus, the N64 games came out first, so it makes sense to do them first. They also look FAR WORSE graphically. I mean, when I play MP4-7 on my Gamecube with my friends, we all think they look pretty great. Hell, we make fun of MP8 because it looks worse despite being on a newer system lol Meanwhile, N64 graphics looks fucking awful and are a complete eyesore.
Last but not least, MP1&2 are getting the biggest benefit out of being made because MP1 boards had a random item system, and MP2 you could only hold one item. That’s why some people argue Woody Woods was worse in Superstars because MP3 had a crazier item selection and you could already hold 3 items on that map.

I feel bad for NDcube; they finally have a promising game. But people are still like, "I. WANT. MOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEE!" Now instead of talking about finally getting a REAL Mario Party game, people are going to be making videos about "how much of a disappointment Jamboree was" like superstars because it didn't have 48 boards, 50 characters, 200 minigames, or DLC. 7 boards is the most we've gotten since Mario Party 5 in 2003! (Mario Party 9, if you include "those" boards.). It's also not about how powerful the machine is or how much storage they can use that limits how big the game can be; it's about creativity and time. NDcube's team is like 1/3 of Hudson Soft's, which (along with yearly games being incredibly hard to do) explains why the games went from every year to every 3 years. And on the creative side, we've had hundreds of minigames and dozens of boards, so they're obviously trying to come up with as many boards as they can without repetition, sacrificing size, or sacrificing quality. Don't get me wrong, I would love 8+ boards, but I recently played MP6 with 6 boards, and I still had fun for hours and felt there was lots of variety, so 7 is enough.
Did my video say this game will be a disappointment if we didn’t get more? Nope.
Also, I have said repeatedly on this channel that more doesn’t mean better. Mario Party 5 had more boards than usual, but they all suck because they had no gimmicks and just focused on making the new capsule system.
And Superstars is my favorite MP game despite it having less boards than usual.
I have also said we don’t need a ton of new maps, because real board game players spend at least 40 bucks for just one map, so having a multiple for 60 bucks is awesome.
But I saw evidence that there might be more unlockable boards. That’s what the video was about, which I feel the need to point out because it seemed like you just came here to comment that you’re unhappy people are talking about more possible boards. I could be wrong, but you had a lot to say about virtually nothing I said in my video.

And I will say I understand your concern, but I don’t think people are going to be upset with the amount of boards even if it is seven. In fact, almost all the videos and comments I’ve seen are people acting like this game will be the best game because of how many boards it has. I actually saw a kid just yesterday post a video that said what determines the best party is the amount of boards it has, which is why MP10 is the best because it has, like, 15 boards when you factor in the amiibo boards.
My next video will kind of me being the yang to most people’s yin, because while I do think this game has the potential to be good, everyone thought Super looked great… and then it turned out to be the worst home console Mario Party ever, and it wasn’t because it had a small amount of boards. It’s because those boards sucked, and while the new 5 boards could be great, the could actually be terrible. We won’t know until we play them.
My dream would be if announced a DLC pack in waves and we get 2 new boards from each version of mario party + 5 minigames in multiple waves like they did for Mario Kart. That DLC could be announced for release alongside the Switch 2 release to promote both together
@@luckyleescott That would be awesome, but I don’t think they’ll do that since this game will be on their last gen console.
My guess is that Switch 2 will launch with a new Mario Kart and they’ll do a booster course pass for that game instead, which honestly makes sense. I won’t fault them for that at all lol
