I listened to this when I was 13- just found it 30 years later and I can just picture walking through Reading town centre with my Walkman on and this being rewound to death.
Love rock melodios and this song is very beatiful. I known ride when i was young 20 old and now i have 56 old and love listen again and again thanks ❤🎸 🎶
Just saw them live for the first time in Boston and they played all of 'Nowhere' front to back plus encore. "Dreams Burn Down" was definitely one of the highlights, maybe the best song in the entire set -- could not believe how loud those noise breakdowns got. I knew they were a great guitar band but I did not give Andy Bell enough credit for just how good he really is until I got to see him play in-person. Extreme technical proficiency but such a sense for letting those around him have the spotlight and being more of a songwriter's guitarist when the moment calls for it. He is truly one of the best guitarists of the 90s. Mark Gardener's guitar parts were a clinic in textured complimenting of a lead player. Loz's drumming was stellar. The vocal harmonies were ethereal. I feel very lucky to have gotten to see them, and to boot they had good onstage banter -- they definitely seem like they are really getting a kick out of being a band again.
I saw them at Exeter Uni during the Going Blind again tour. I was stood next to a wall of speakers. Wowsers. Making Judy Smile made the girl I was with burst into tears. Happy days. Kudos to the drummer. Superb.
They took the guitar methods of Television Marquee Moon and made it even better. I loved Ride from first listen to this album. They just blew me away with warmth and technique. They played so fast yet was an elegant trip into romance such as this masterpiece performance. I was listening to the extended remaster of this collection last night, and had turned up the bass to listen to things in the rhythm section I may have missed, and yeah I had missed the Spooky Tooth drum sound, Ride has this and the guy is amazing. Dreams Burn Down is one of their best songs. Thank you for posting this KEXP live in the studio session. Amazing!
Ok Kids … remember this ? One of the best ever for their sound, Shoegazing was originally a few bands … some get recognition while others will due not… the band called RIDE were beasts sitting on the curbside and yet they took a backseat to no one 😌🫣🫥
Gotta admit, not immediately snagged by the vocals, but the instrumentation is great, and I do enjoy the singing, my initial impression is just that it's the weak link here. Awesome music, all in all!
Vocals were always the weak link in Ride probably why they never got as big as they could have ! "fey shoegazers" as they were called back in the day ! ( I am a fan by the way )
Nobody listens (or listened to) shoegaze music for the vocals, so it's not like Ride was ever going to be pointed out as the "next Stone Roses" or whatever was hip that preceded Oasis. And while neither Gardner or Bell are (were) great singers individually, their harmonies was as much a part of their sound as the guitars.
I still remember the feeling when this jumped out of my speakers for first time. Chills.

Awesome life do u have, Lucy Lu.
Special song, and this is a gorgeous live performance. I hope they are all friends again.
How have I not seen this before today?? One of my all-time favorite songs, live on KEXP. Watching Loz is exhausting. Love it. Thank you.

Ride was definitely an influence on Coldplay. Martin and the gang can’t deny that.
Give me that distortion, reverb, sustain... turn up to 10 ... jeez I'm back in the early 90s, welcome back boys.. 2017 could be a good un..
Es espectacular 👌👌

Rock&roll
Opening+riff have clearly inspired in my place by coldplay. Great choice mates :)
Oh dear! This song (and RIDE) probably pre-date Coldplay by 10 years. If anything Coldplay lifted it from RIDE.
You fucking idiot

Sorry about your guitar, but there’s zero chance because this is a Jaguar, not a Jazzmaster.
What model of blue Jaguar is this?
I see the tarantula's artwork there

oiralire Eh? The vocals are great!
The vocals are part of the Ride package.

@@isitrealgood Spot on.
I bet Coldplay crew listened it
Faltou reverb na voz
Real shoegaze.
92 live performance much better
drums need more thunder
that’s the whole point……..
Everything is clipping, unfortunately. The performances are on point!
If it aint clipping it aint Ride
Bass drum and snare sound awful.
