@peterjones6321 Man, I grew up listening to this song. I know it's in a radio station where there isn't much ambience, but you just gave me an idea! I'm going to take the audio, apply a simple amount of reverb to each instrument as I would mixing any other song for someone, but the SAME reverb they used on the original, and post it. You're right. This song, and RIDE, have shaped my musicianship in ways that most of the "session" musicians I've worked with simply do not understand. Can't wait to follow up on what you said.
They are brilliant, and I'm seeing them in Sydney, 9th August. Get this - they are also playing a 5 A.M. show at the same place for those who are probably still awake (for um.. haha... any number of reasons LOL)
HAHA that is an AWESOME way of putting it... as if he has 8 limbs. I get it. It's a PITY that the "Tarantula" album didn't portray that AT ALL... I have a very first pressing of the album as I was working at Warner Music at the time - you can hear the audio fading in and out (as in old, re-recorded 2 inch tape) on number of occasions.
My eyes are sore, my body weak My throat is dry, I cannot speak My words are dead, falling like feathers to the floor Falling like feathers to the floor You gave me things I'd never seen You made my life a waking dream But we are dead, falling like ashes to the floor Falling like ashes to the floor Definitions confine thoughts, they are a myth Words are clumsy, language doesn't fit But we know there's no limit to thought We know there's no limits Now it's your turn to see me rise You burned my wings, now watch me fly above your head Looking down I see you far below Looking up you see my spirit glow
They were so young when they encountered success with their music. And since they were tired of touring after releasing Going Blank Again, and the thing about Gardener and Bell being kinda like the leaders, that led to Carnival of Light and their later separation.
This particular Ride track holds a persistent position in my personal Top 10 favourite tracks. It's one I never tire of hearing.
It is quite frankly stand out of a bunch of gems...beautiful.
I agree, classic ride ❤️

totally agree, brother ..
Drummer is an absolute beast, looks like he has multiple sets of arms at times
How awesome is the drumming? Brings so much urgency to such an otherwise chilled song!
that drummer still got it, damn
Yea he fuckin killed it
Totes!
They all did
Larry Mullen on Meth
@cyytr0n Yeah, he's a machine. They ALL still got it, damn!!!
When i saw this live, i almost shit my pants. So fucking awesome. Loz is a god.
Eight miles high... I love Ride and their harmony singing !!!

That drumming is masterful
loz is the best.
Jesus Christ that outro is insane! Wish it was on the album 😢
I love Ride. So glad they are still playing together. This sounds immense.
I saw them a couple of years ago in Sydney. The lead singer isn't the pretty boy he once was, but it was still an awesome wall of guitars....
The drumming tarantula...
Was that pun intentional
Yes

Brilliant 👍
The Beatles influence is very obvious in this one I love it
Also really reminds me of I am the Resurrection by Stone Roses
"Taxman" bassline (though I like seagull more)
@@renaatsenechal start by the Jam iis taxman! Dead same !
Drumming is pure Keith Moon
its similar to Tomorrow Never Knows
I will never tire of listening to this band, their compositions were of another level ..
Still love this band. Timeless songs. These guys had a handle on how to weave melody, harmony, rhythm and noise into something danceable.
30 years ago I was a member of the Ride fan club, when I found them live on KEXP well that made my day. Thankyou Ride
Absolutely wicked performance guys! Remember you smashing this out as opener at gigs back in the 90s! What a tune
Oh my... I didn't listen to this since the 90's. I feel so old and so young at the same time. Still efficient anyway.
Incredible.. So underrated!
Hello from France !
This band is unforgettable, and "Seagull" opening their "Nowhere" LP is just a masterpiece.
That sounds awesome, best live version I've heard👍✌️😊😊
Loz always kills it
AMAZING!!! what an incredible band.
Best drummer
What a f@#$king tune. Really enjoyed this live this spring in Boston for the Nowhere 30 tour.
Toujours aussi performant, une merveille.
C’est vrai
Saw them live in 1990. Best concert ever.
Me too Nottingham. And then again this year in Boston US. Amazing.
The harmonies are spot on.
little pitchy, dawg
maybe but the arranging is really good i think@@matteframe
Timeless and always speechless
Best clip of Seagull I know..
Am a huge fan from singapore.. Always the best band eeveh!!!
Hey for anyone in Australia, they are coming here around the 9th August - and playing 2 gigs each night/morning at each venue.. 9pm and 5 AM!!!
Great Walkman memories
such a good band
Dr Loz on fire. 🔥🥁
I-LOVE-THIS-SONG
"Nowhere" is legendary.
10000000% the best and there are still the top band im my list… Evergreen.. Shoegaze forever
Ride haven't been shoegaze since their first couple of EPs, LOL
Great stuff! cool sound of the nineties!
That fucking Jersey 🤙🏽
damn, my ears say a lot of thanks!
Kind of like Crosby Stills and Nash on steroids, very great music
Goes full spacemen 3 at the end, brilliant
they still rock. great band
super good drums as usual
going to see these tonight in london on the Nowhere anniversary tour. Hoping they start with this
🎸🔥🎶🥁love it!
That riff taken right from Taxman.

I love RIDE😆👍👍👍
WOOOOOOW
Ecstatic. Loz rules.
they sound just like off the album ... this is soooo effin good ...
F***** h***! As good as ever. In fact, probably better than in the old days.
great
holy shit
Top....top...top...
My idea of the perfect post pandemic evening: a small intimate club featuring both Ride and Stereolab in no particular order.
Blast section at the end! 🤘🏻👅
Epic
YASS
Отлично! годный музон!
sick
Ô louco, bicho
any info on the drummer's t-shirt? a killer one
❤
Waouww ! 💪
Jim ... I hear ya Man...
this song like film intro idk what is name i forget
I ADORE LOZ COLBERT SO f#@*ing MUCH!!!!
Je crois que j'aimerais bien être le producteur de ride pour 4 ou 5 chansons.
Missing some shoegaze core on the guitars but it still rocks. Such a great song, one of my favours of them.
Yeah doesn’t really capture that “wall of sound” but still great
Apt. Nowhere isn't even a shoegaze album. Hilarious that so many people think it is.
These dude use to have cool hair! There guitar sound was trancendrix? And the drummer was sick! Still cool!
They were so young when they encountered success with their music. And since they were tired of touring after releasing Going Blank Again, and the thing about Gardener and Bell being kinda like the leaders, that led to Carnival of Light and their later separation.
Who invited Zac Dingle to play lead Guitar...........seriously......love you ride chaps...xxxxx
Anyone know what backwards delay pedal Andy is using in this?
Andy's using the Eventide TimeFactor
Taxman with transcendant harmonies
Fucking awesome.
Drumeo must make a challenge for a drummer to this song.
How does his Rickenbacker sound like it’s not a 12 string?
This is like a well-oiled machine
Think I actually prefer the KCRW live version better.
BIGBLOCKBAND!BBB
Beautiful Beautiful Guitars.. The Drummers ok...
¿It's me or they actually sound like the Stone roses?
miles better than Stone Roses (although I like them also)
reni … hold my beer
taxman
