- RIDE's Andy Bell plays an acoustic version of 'Vapour Trail' and shows the correct chords in detail.
Taken from a 2020 broadcast called "Happy Hour". Thanks to the original owners and producers of this recording.
He wrote this song when he was 19 years old. Unreal.
One of the most beautiful set of chords ever, it could loop non-stop and I'd be eternally happy! A song over 30 years old still sounds amazing!😍🙌
"and I've just noticed that the third finger stays where it is the whole time..." says the man who has played this beautiful song thousands of times.
Whatever format I hear this song it always sends shivers down my spine
Andy's definitely tapped into something with this song and these chords.
I dont want to live in 2022 its rubbish
@@smollande nah bro we get to have the guy that wrote this song teach us how to play it lol
His voice is still perfect and young, a warm for the soul gives you the impression that time has not passed.
I’ve been playing for 31 years now. Nobody has influenced me more than Andy Bell has.
Very generous of Andy to take the time to share this. Cheers from Singapore
Wow,it doesn’t get any better than having Andy Bell give a tutorial on his own beautiful song, with an amazing acoustic performance thrown in!
such an underated guitarist and songwriter his bass playing and tunes he wrote in oasis and beady eye were great to
I saw these guys at Maxwell's in Hoboken. 1990 or 91. Great show. Great record.
Amazing to hear Andy play it like this and also the tutorial at the end ❤
One of the greatest songs ever. Thank you🎉
I remember hearing this song for the first time. Such a beautiful song.
Best love song ever❤
Simple is effective is superb
One of my all-time favorite songs to listen to, play and sing. Great video.
how beautiful these chords are...
My god this magnificent music will last for the ages.
i started to cry when he started to sing :(
When I finally saw them I cried the entire song.
me too
@tzaddikim1a.k.aomegarinse368 Lucky you! I love acid! And I love Lush too!
OK....twenty years of playing this and NOW he shows me that at 4:56 he stretches his spidey pinky OVER his ring finger to play the B chord, thereby leaving the ring finger in the same position throughout the sequence. It makes it smoother to play but I need to re-program my brain and hand.😆
Great point. It sustains the ring if you leave the 3rd finger down as he does. Tough to master on a rick 12 I wound imagine but hardly as tough as say the intro to Mr brightside
Love the Es-125. Great punchy acoustic sound. Cracking song as well.
Oh my! This is such a gem - thanks for posting
I like how the chair is mic'd up
Thanks Andy
I tried to figure it out by a video of their live performance of this song but this is super helpful! :)) also, I could listen to Andy's soft voice read a phone book it's so nice
Total gent - shows how the magic is done.
Beautiful chords..
There's a pattern: musicians that learned to play by ear use to invent their own chords. Notice that he has to recall the finger positions by playing - and that's beautiful.
Brilliant! So grateful for this! 🙏🏼❤️
Still awesome!
Amazing
Love it
Superb
❤
Thanks so much!
TIL that i have been playing my favorite song, totally wrong for over 20 years.
アコースティックギターで奏でられるライドもまた乙なモノ。

p̴r̴o̴m̴o̴s̴m̴ 😆
Andy got a hair transplant.
Did he really?
nope - I'd say that balding pattern is a Bell family trait judging by a few of my Bell relatives
I much prefer his history shows.
