The first RPG I ever played was a JRPG, it still lives rent free with me. Tales of Legendia for the PS2, the story is super out there and involved like ancient civilizations of space wizards who think they're the ancestor people of the world only to find out they're actually genetically modified ship parts basically. The gameplay was funky and fun almost pseudo fighting game and the character had catch phrases as they hit so eternally in my brain is Sennel Coolidge's "Ha ha! Eat this!" as he performed a normal attack combo. That being said when I first played Oblivion I didnt put it down until my PS3 Literally fried from too much consecutive play.
Listening to you talking about how much you love these games makes think about the games I loved over the years. The ones I put countless hours and multiple playthroughs.
I grew up with mainly Nintendo titles especially Zelda and Final Fantasy so I definitely gravitated towards the fantasy genre. Our family had a GameCube and a wii with a handeful of games for the family except my brother who built his own pc and when he first let me play Skyrim on his computer it really opened me up to more types of RPGs and when he helped me build my first PC I was able to start exploring so many games like Fallout and the other Elder Scrolls, Dark Souls and even Dishonored and it changed the way I interacted with my brother cuz I had something more to talk about with him and when I thought I would have a good build in an rpg he would show me his file and just put mine to shame but it would always make me wanna try new things to one day out do him in a game.
Brother you literally put all the rpgs I love the most on a single list, just subscribed. Also, if you like old rpgs I recommend you to play Silver for the Dreamcast and pc.
The first “rpg” I played was Star Wars the force awakens with startkiller. Though the game that really sent me into a lot of different rpg’s was Elden ring. Today my #1 favorite game is dark souls 3 with other dark souls titles/ fallout, and elder scrolls are all fighting for the other spots. Skyrim is fighting hard for #1. Man I love gaming. Thanks for the video bro. I’m glad you have some of those same incredible memories.
@@trrk1745 bro I love planescape torment! But I gotta admit I’ve never beaten it, even though I’ve tried many times. One day I’ll finish it for sure! is that one of your favorites?
As one of the lucky few who never really had too many crashes or bugs with Dragon Age Origins as a young teenager, I still tell people to this day that it is the best RPG I have ever played. Granted the steep learning curve and sometimes complex lore, politics and world-building for someone who at the time was not at all proficient with the English language, it was satisfying enough for me to slay darkspawn, romance Morrigan and watch the Battle at Ostagar cutscenes through multiple playthroughs and many hundreds of hours. With many fans split between the design choices of DAO and the newer games in the series, me being a bigger fan of Origins and 2 rather than Inquisition, I must admit I am excited to see what Veilguard will bring here in October.
Fallout brotherhood of steel the one on consoles was so good and anybody that says that it isn't never actually played it because if you're there with your buddy and you f****** do that s*** it's so good
When you said say the name out loud i verbally said might and magic dark messiah if you haven't played this game play this game it is video essay worthy just based on the mechanics

I'm gonna have to play Tales on the emulator, and yeah the way Oblivion and Fallout 3 would save on the ps3 would make it blow up your system.
