Adkins seemed so happy to be just a backup, a no name, who was happy enough to get in the nfl
These good players don't understand how good they have it.
SeaPandas21 it really is a blessing to be in the league despite the thousands of talents striving to at least be on the practice squad
Just being in the NFL is big. Backup or not.
SeaPandas21 and he didn’t look so bad. 11 Games 17 compilations 2 passing tds no INT
@@lalohernandez9061 I was just learning about compilations in my accounting course. I didn't know there were compilations in the NFL too.
*cough cough* Antonio brown
that story about the falcons defensive coordinator tripping over having him on tape throwing left handed and right handed was hilarious ;D
erbgorre right! I was cracken up when he told that story lol
Seems like Glanville. He was quite a character himself. They could do a good video on Glanville, honestly.
is it weird that i can throw with both my arms
erbgorre ppppppppp
Bryan Yi no
Adkins seems like a cool humble dude

Sam's my first cousin.

After watching this video I want a current Fan #12 Jersey signed by Sam.
Agreed
only nfl films could make this non story into something worthwhile and interesting.
@agreensubstance seahawks are gay? Like homosexual?
@@idontwantone132 homosexuals r gay. Prove me wrong
That’s why I liked NFL Films.
How dare you sir! How dare you.😑
“12 is not my number it’s our number now.”
(Soviet union anthem starts playing)
Slavshit
I was looking for this
😂 taking it a bit far aren't we?

He’s a great guy
Chris 6:29
6:29 he left him hanging
The perfect music was playing too
Xavier Reyna he went for it anyways
I wish I hadn't see that
In the arms of an angel...
6:33 he didn't get the kid either
"The Only Man to Wear 12 For the Seattle Seahawks" and then they immediately show Zorn wearing his jersey
6:02 perfect timing with the music
It’s great that the guy who wore the #12 is the embodiment of a player was also a huge fan of the game and the Seahawks
He just trolled all the bandwagon fans lol
Frank Gotti facts.
Ya cause every fan should remember backup QBs from the 70s...
Frank Gotti yup and love it
Seriously? Seriously?
GucciArzola Or maybe they were too busy with having a life to google search a backup quarterback from the 70s. But your guess is as good as mine
Wow.. as a packer fan... this video brought a smile on my face. Much respect Seattle 🤜🤛
daAnder71 2 years. Ago
It’s kinda funny, one of my teachers in 8th grade was Adkins’ daughter
Sam's my first cousin. Our fathers were brothers. Our Native tribe in Virginia just received federal recognition yesterday.
Mark Adkins cool
yeah that's hilarious
He is my sister, we went to school together
We are all.... Adkins
I thought 12 meant the year that Seattle actually got fans.. 2012.
Jade Morrison p lol
So who was in our stadium every game before that year? Robots?
Davis2Nguyen uh ohhhhhh. Seattle “fan”
I'm asking a simple question lol
Jade Morrison they sold out most games even when they were terrible, do some research
6:16 Dobby is a free elf 😂🤣
Adkins after his jersey was retired:
"They love me"
Still can’t believe they didn’t run the ball
OfficerFriendly I can’t believe the 49ers are 0-5
Still too soon
+YER BOi you can't believe the 49ers are 0-5. are you stupid? they were 2-14 last year
YER BOi maybe you mean the Giants
OfficerFriendly Still can't believe the 49ers forced a ball down to Richard Sherman 😂😂
Then a certain "12" beat them in the Super Bowl in historic fashion....
But Seriously I have respect for Seahawks and their fans. Hope there is a rematch in the SB.
BeastMode 21 Actually it wasn’t a certain “12” it was a certain “21”
CaptinNapkin 02 thats what they're talking about just rearrange the numbers
That's crazy
BeastMode 21 Seahawks. not going to the super bowl
BeastMode 21 #patriotnation
Nfl makes such cool films
Good for that guy....he is living the dream. I cant even imagine being able to play in the NFL. Even being on the practice squad would be a dream come true!
Seattle seahawks: were home of the 12th man
Texas A&M:
*AM I A JOKE TO YOU?*
Exactly these dudes aren't the real 12th man A&M is
A&M started the 12th man way before the Seahawks.
@@kevinkim5290 exactly
Texas A&M 12th Man since 1922. Seattle 62 years too late.
Lmao Seahawks pay A&M for the right to use the trademark
6:31 that dude owned being left hanging
bruh this man has the purest heart and from the film he looked like he played really well too
I am really enjoying these mini series clips from NFL Films. They are colorfully put together and good background/research done. I enjoyed this video and I'm a diehard Niners fan! Seahawks have a fine organization and hell of a fan base.
A&M had a 12th Man in 1922 a whole 52 years before the Seahawks were even founded.
They know. They actually pay A&M for the rights to use it
Ian Dickeson and Minnesota had it a whole 22 years before y’all did
Ian Dickeson in 1922 tho, before anyone even really knew what football was so I don’t think that really counts
Idk why but the part where they talk about the film with Atlanta made me laugh harder then it should have
He seems like a really genuine guy and a nice person.
I love this guy he seems so happy
How many Seahawks fans even know about awesome players like Joey Galloway and Warren Moon, etc.
Gregz0r. I do
Gregz0r like none
Jim Zorn, Curt Warner, Brian Blades, etc.
Daz Can't forget Marcus Trufant.
Gregz0r lol Steve Largent is better then both of em
Born and raised as a Seahawks is amazing never mess the 12ths
Yeah...won't be too happy next season when they are the bottom of the barrel in the NFC West division lol.
not happy but we will still support them and you never know we might be the top of the NFC West division
Not Me lmao you sure
Such a humble guy
Another great video from NFL films.
I respect the real Seahawks fans, but its a shame they had a bunch of bandwagons come in in the past few years. The same happened with my team (panthers) also...
there are a lot of bandwagon Eagles fan as well. Even though my profile pic is Tennessee titans, I'm a real eagles fan since 2012. I was 6 then, but I still loved football and philly!
What's wrong with bandwagon fans? The way I see it if a team is doing bad you shouldn't support them because if a bad team constantly sells out what is the hurry to make them a better team
Nickolai Buck so loyalty doesn't mean anything to you?
Nickolai Buck what do you mean what's wrong with bandwagon fans? fans Who start jumping on a team as soon as the team starts winning and then leave and go to another team when that team starts losing is not good. You must be a bandwagon fan then.
Ryland Cisco same. My team gets more bandwagoners (patriots). And because I live in MA, I’m not a bandwagoner which is good. But I... ERRORERRROREROROORDEATH
lit
Ramsey #LockUp#BestCB#GoJags yuh
wtf how do i see u everywhere lol
salah areikat because he’s Superman he fly on the field and on RUclips
nice
GO JAGS
This is such a great story. Pretty cool of the Hawks to have a career backup be such an integral part of their home game rituals.
I love his attitude. Adkins made a good point that "It's not his number, It's our number." That's why Seahawks fans are the 12. What a humble guy, What a good story. That's how you feel respectful.
They liked 12 so much they gave him a super bowl😎
So actually two guys wore 12.. Adkins and Zorn (for part of a game)
Respect! ✊🏼
you learn something new everyday more football knowledge i love it 😍😍😁
Left that poor kid hanging at 6:33
You do know that the 12th man name belongs to Texas ATM. The Seahawks had to stop calling themselves the 12th man in order to avoid a lawsuit, now they just call themselves "12s"
Yes because "Texas ATM" is definitely a school
EXACTLY!!
Someone with intelligent observation!
@@farfetched1660 hey pal you just blow in from stupidtown
Texas At The Moment.
ATM's!!! HA!!!
I, a Texas A&M alumnist, once wore a t-shirt that said "Texas A&M - Home of the original 12th Man since 1922." One guy asked me where I got it, and he said he wanted one so he could troll Seahawks fans when he returned to Seattle.
He wasn’t a bad back up Qb have to love the fact he was just happy to be a seahawk that’s awesome!
When you realize the Seahawks didn't even invent the 12th man and everyone acts like they did 🤔
No one is saying they invented it, it's just a way to acknowledge the fans and how they contribute with noise. Do you know who invented the term? No, because no one probably really knows. When football was first invented random fans and players were probably referring to fans like that.
And neither did the school who "invented" it
Seattle is whack
Uh well duh, every team has a 12th man dumb ass.
It doesnt matter if A&M did it first. We made it relevant. Stfu
You can thank Texas A&M for the 12th man
Its just too wholesome. Seattle youre not allowed to be this wholesome.
Sam seems like the nicest kindest man ever I’m happy for him
They don’t know because most of them are bandwagoners no offense to real Seahawks fans you guys are great.
You can't blame the kids for not knowing though. That one kid with the glasses looked to young to be allowed to use the Internet lol
After Wilson came is 2012 that’s when everyone all of a sudden was a fan since the beginning
According to Wikipedia : Samuel Adam Adkins (born May 21, 1955) is a former professional American football player. He attended Cleveland High School in Reseda, CA and Wichita State University. He played for the NFL Seattle Seahawks from 1977-1981, and is the only member of the Seahawks to wear the number 12. In 1984, the number 12 was retired for the Seattle Seahawks fans (aka the "12s"). The 12s is often considered to be the fans in the stands, as there are 11 players on the field at all times. While this rings true for crowds at home games in general, it became a prominent nickname that most football fans associate with the Seahawks.[1] He and his wife Dayle have 4 children.
Since his retirement, he has worked in broadcasting in the Seattle area, as the color commentator for the University of Washington football radio broadcasts and more extensively as a host and correspondent on the Seahawks post-game show.

He's my first cousin. I haven't seen him since I was a small child.
What an awesome dude!!
Loved the switching throwing arms story haha
I doubt they even know the QB who wore #8
I mean Hasselbeck lead us to the SB, so I would hope that even Bandwagoners would know who he was.
Spinning Void the fact that he was able to do that was amazing
Pre Wilson- hasselback was the best quarter the Seahawks had, the dark days of being a Seahawks fan when we had Seneca Wallace trash- Charlie Whitehurst aka clip board Jesus and Charlie Frye, keep in mind I'm 22 so and as far as I can remember Seahawks were Trent dilfer and Matt
Matt Hasslebeck.
Abel Leyva that would just be sad😂😂
Gang
I am a 49ers fan but I will put the blood rivalry aside for a minute to say you have great fans not every team can say that so congrats on having some of the best fans in the league
I love this because it makes it seem like his one of us
Rip to that guy trying to give that highfive to Adkins at 6:34
Aggies did it first! Aggies own the rights to the12th man as well!
Nicholas Boswell nope. The distinction of first 12th man goes to the University of Minnesota, 22 years before A&M used it
@@tcnugget we used the 12th man as soon as the school started. Get it right
@@jerrywashere-pu7cd I did get it right. You started using it in 1922 but the university of Minnesota used it in a newspaper article in 1900 and the university of Iowa used it in an alumni publication in 1912. So you guys were actually third.
legend
Very respectable guy
Its actually starting to taper off slowly since Seahawks arent as good as before.
2easydesigns not really tho....
DoubleJT1234 yeah it is tho
unless you live in Seattle i don't think you can say its tapering off. It hasn't and won'
t. We'll continue to sell out our stadium and other teams will continue to have giants gaps in their stands.
and continue to always have a deafening stadium
It might be tapering off in different states, but if you've been in Seattle your entire life, then you'd know different.
Seattle stole the 12th man from Texas A&M
I'm sure the term pre-dates Texas A&M, fans were probably saying it when football was first invested. There is no way A&M was the first to think of it.
So Proud to be a 12. Go Hawks
00:46 - I've seen Tifos that take my breath away before. But this...this is unique. This...I wish the NFL had more fan culture like this.
LOL THE FIRST SAID 1 TH
So please Take me at least someone appreciates it
Best franchise in NFL history #GoHawks#StayLoud#12thMan
Earl Thomas #EarlthePearl#NoFlyZone#12thMan no,not really
Yeah they suck ass
70s 80s 90s they sucked ass
Seneca Wallace
I've live in Tacoma my whole life which is 20 miles south of Seattle I've never seen or heard of the 12s till like 02 or 03 and out fan base is 90% bandwagon riders couldn't name 5 players that played for us in the 90s lol I don't mind the new fans it's just crazy how many 12s u see everyday it's legit the Hawks bring everyone together in Washington .. Put all bs to the side for a cpl hrs on Sunday's is awesome .. I hope everyone will get to experience what we have been so lucky to have in our lives .. GO HAWKS
Great story Congrats
Love Seattle love the team seriously but there are a lot of bandwagon fans
Fan when we had a Napoleon on the team. But was young enough to not be to overboard.
You can still wear the number 12 in madden as the Seahawks
Its madden.
it’s madden.
what a great guy
What an HONOR for Adkins. A true Seahalk at #12 for ever.
#GoHawks
Whatever, Seattle leases the term 12th man from the Texas A&M Aggies and have to renew it every so often so shut it.
Will S we all know
Of course the Aggies weren't even the first to use the 12th man but whatever. Now keep trying to get your years right as to when the bandwagon actually started
And colleges don't pay football players, yet pay the coaches as much as pro coaches while students struggle to pay tuition.
He’s such a happy person
That is just so cool.At least dude got the recognition for something since he didn't have a great career at all.
David Holcomb he was a god smh
I always thought it was a player that won a ring or something special then died tragically.
A&M was first
He seems like a real nice guy! Go Hawks!
What a top blokes!
Seattle ain’t Seattle without the 12s
Richard Sherman or the refs
Nick Green lol you think that
Love me some Sherman
Oh it will always be Seattle.
Stole the tradition from Texas A&M
Great guy! Great story!
Man, I love western Washington I think it's a great place to live
The 12th Man is Texas A&M. But, OK, Seattle... 🤷🏽♂️
Texas A&M fans - the ORIGINAL 12th man!
hey man, love your sport videos!
Thanks bro!
Ninh Explains...
I love your explaining sports vids. I finally understand Cricket now!
Thanks man, I appreciate that!
What a good guy
Adkins sounds like the type of guy you would have a good time just sitting on the couch drinking some beers and watching football, such a likable guy and hell who can say there number will never be worn ever again cause its retired. (Yes I know they didn't retire it for him but still)
Only real hawk fans know it was blue and green back in the days we been doing the 12th man also look back the 05 super bowl you'll see the 12 flags they use to call flags on us back in the king dome haters gonna hate though we been killing it since 2002 three super bowl appearances one win 10 conference championships gtfoh GO HAWKS!
Koi Matai CenturyLink is nice but the kingdome is the hawks true home.
Patriots Nation 💯
Koi Matai too bad most current seahawk fans don’t know about this
TheEmeraldMan382 nah tacoma dome is
No its the Kingdom. The Tacoma dome is the home of the Tacoma Rainers baseball team.
I thought num 12 meant how many players on the defense or offense
Seth Curry there are 11 players from either team on the field at one time. The 12 stands for the fans who get so loud they can affect the game
Seth Curry its the fan whos loud which create false starts when really only 11 man is playing on field.
Hold on now we could count to OC or DC as a player, right? I mean I think they're technically the 12th man?
+Josh Hause YES THX YOU
I bet the Seahawks gave him a Super Bowl ring when they won in 2013. He probably is one of those players that have an excellent relationship with his old team he probably has an ambassador role with team.
Really cool guy!
Out of state seahawk fans are the real bandwagon fans
Manny being Manny not really because many states don’t have football teams
Out of country lol
Manny being Manny I was raised in Canada, but my mom was from Vancouver and was a diehard Hawks fan, does that make me a bandwagon?
Manny being Manny what if I live in Oregon
It doesn't matter where you live a fan is a fan. The further the more loyal. It's easy to be a Homer, everybody agrees with you and you are a follower. These people that you say aren't real fans have to deal with Homers all the time. People that live on the other side of the world, where soccer is called football. Those are huge fans because they have to listen to soccer fans.
The fam base was born 2012
Very cool story!!
Lucky guy. There our rival, but I respect how passionate Seahawk fans are.
But the Seahawks haven’t had a penalty because their fans were too loud
#ChiefsKingdom
Nah we get the other team to have a penalty because our fans were too loud not our own team lol.
what’s the 12 mean ?
Ulices Rodriguez on each side of the ball there are 11 people on the field. The 12 suggests that they can change the game so much that it's like there is a 12th man on their side of the ball
they stole it from A&M.
A story about a genuine. Advil's personality drove this and it couldn't have happened to a nicer bloke. Well done Seattle.
He's so happy
