Yeah pugging so far has been a nightmare. With the changes to stops and every mob just spam casting all the time its rough. You overlap your kicks at any point and shit just goes in the bin.
I love when you have "unavoidable" CC just deleting kicks. Abomb Limb and Upheaval are REALLY bad about making someone waste a kick and the mob instantly recast.
they really need to make healer dispels universal imo i feel like 90% of healer metas in m+ is just who can dispell the most stuff in the season unless someones output is just broken
"It just feels really unfair" summarizes A LOT of the tuning of the dungeons as they came out and now Blizzard is trying to un-fuck them. What were they doing during beta?
They need to fix healing. They royally screwed it up going into this expac where healers are the payphone meme of sweating slamming their buttons trying to dodge trying to watch others cds and time their own defensives just to barely scrape through and then dps "are like wuts a defensive? Can't you just press more healing spells or use a cd? It was only one swirly I got hit by, it was only a couple of kicks we didn't land" Like it's not on that healers (already the hardest role in the game) now have this extra layer of shit they have to try and deal with.
I only heal and primarily do really high keys (18-19 last season, currently done most on 11), and I gotta say I don't really resonate with this. Yes, there are difficult moments but overall the pace of healing makes long term planning per pull a lot more important now than what we had in season 3 and 4 of dragonflight, which was basically whack-a-mole. I think the current way healing works is much better than it's been in a while, and also a lot more fun.
The grim batol mutated hatchlings were such a meme, if you ever used a stun or something on the last pack of them and synched up their autos you would die fully 100 to 0 on like a 10. They hit harder than the corrupter guys in the same pack. I’m always confused when certain mobs just have several times the auto attack damage they should, I assume it’s an oversight or some unintended scaling thing cause there’s no way they made them hit that hard on purpose
not to mention that the way every tank active mitigation works (except for block) is that if all the hits are in the same like, millisecond-ish, you either mitigate all of them or you take all of them in full. So chances are, if they ever get to sync their attacks, and if your tank isnt a warrior, he either kites away or he's dead, unless he gets blessed by the RNGsus' 10%ish dodge (for some tanks).
The issue with enemies in general is some mobs are just...uninteuitive on what their autos should do. I remember first boss of RLP I was on my bear and I'm like "oh it's a caster boss I won't waste rage on Ironfur" and then she smacked the shit out of me harder with her hands than the ice shard if she ever decided she wanted to randomly melee.
Fooled me once shame on you. Fooled me twice shame on me. Fooled me three times shame on... the blizzard balance team that must've been fired during one of the six layoff waves that have happened over there
The QA team definitely got fired a while back, there have been so many more bugs and a reduction in overall balancing past a certain point. They are now just off-loading the balance to the players/streamers to call out before fixing things.
@@Balloonbot Yeah but dungeons are absolute wank right now for pugs. Yeah yeah yeah I know you'll be the one to chime in with "I got all my score in pugs" and I don't care you CAN do that but the time investment is another full time job to cycle through the hundreds of pug keys you have to do in order to get a group that finally knows what they are doing. As a healer nothing has been more unbalanced as it is right now and I've always prided myself as a pretty damn good player but trying to do 9's is tricky and 10's is awful right now. Dungeons have too many mechanics, too many one shots, too gear reliant and too punishing for deaths.
@Theparadoxd7 it's just unfun. I'm deep in the 1% nearing title as a healer in DF and I was off meta Hpriest. But I've basically dropped TWW and so has half my team like my tank. The stops change with spam casting and increased death punishment, the sheer complexity of every trash pull. I played competitively putting in 60+ hours a week in DF and when I grinded for global rank 1 in aberus I played so much I had to put bandaids on my fingertips for extra padding but it's just unsustainable and all they do is keep making it more punishing and more complex like wtf do they want from us, if I'm a hardcore player and I think it's too much what the hell are the casuals supposed to do, how are they supposed to conquer this. Idk I'm rambling, it's just "ugh" whenever I see blizz going in the wrong direction. My tank and I are playing other stuff atm while blizz gets their crap together
The change that is still bothering more then almost anything is moving the guilded crests to only be in 9+ keys. Good luck getting invited to them, and even if you do a pug that is good enough to get you the 12 at the end of the dung. It puts so many of us into a plateau state with out gear compared to all other seasons.
Another solution to Putrid Waters would be adding an indicator to the targeted players prior to application so that you can press a DR, if they want to keep the initial hit damage.
i can get behind this idea.... or remove the upfront damage and make the dot ramp so defensives need to be used while the healer dispell CD comes back...
I just don't get how they did REALLY well with adding good indicators to like GB of all places, but screwed the pooch everywhere else. Another questionable decision for bad indicators is Izo. I know stacking makes it easier, but PUGs will be PUGs (they didn't do it on Yazma either) and I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't put arrows on the balls when it is a literal copy/paste mechanic from Dathea WHO HAD THE ARROWS. Honestly keeping with CoT the dispel balls on first boss need to be just larger visually. Little pellets shooting through the boss and stunning the tank right before the buster.
@@NewMetaTV It may not be easy, but it's delusional to pretend it's so difficult that a team who's been working on it for years cannot figure things out - they get paid to do that. You could literally randomly ask a bunch of players who ran dungeons higher than +7 and they'd tell you about 95% of the issues in existence and how to fix them.
Here let me one shot you. Here let me blow up your entire party. Oh you let that cast go off? Well this players dead, now you don't have the dps to kill this pack before the damage ooms your healer. Have fun.
I find funny before the mythic race started Blizzard looked at the numbers Pevoker and shamans doing insane hps, even hpriest are pulling big numbers and they decided to nerf hpally. I would truly like to understand the logic there.
Ehm when exactly were shamans pumping hps? Rwf people only brought resto shaman for cr totem, it is competing with post nerf paladins hps wise (at least according to heroic logs). That being said, it is really weird that evokers doing a thousand % more hps than their closest competitors did not get any nerfs.
Erm fuck right off Rshamans were not "pulling really big numbers" and you can literally check the hps logs to see hpally and evokers were doing the same level of numbers. The outliers here are evokers doing 30% (somtimes more) hps than other healers. And Rshaman has to deal with dogshit mana in raids.
As a Prot Pally main, this sucks! I’ll still play the underdog, looking forward to the upcoming changes which hopefully makes us a bit more viable in harder content.
I don't understand why they put siege in this season, everything about it is just so poorly balanced and not well thought out if not downright buggy, I don't think all the problems with it will be fixed before s2. Outside of unfair overlaps or outright bugs its not the hardest dungeon out there but the success rate is so low cause of al the random stuff that can just kill people (or make a boss dissapear...) So many BFA dungeons were A tier or even S tier and they chose siege... I know fh/ad were already in but damn
@@deenman23 They literally obliterated Fury after heroic week before people had tier set. Latest logs show Fury went from #1 to #21 raid damage lol. Worse tier set in game. Nerfed us before everyone got theirs. Crazy
In both raid fights with ST unholy is higher then fury. Overall in the entire raid unholy isn't very far from fury. Fury isn't as OP as everyone thinks. The raid fights just have very good timings for fury's burst so it looked crazy strong. Nerfing a class strictly off raid logs is pretty bad design. Once mobs start living through fury's burst, like high keys, you realize furys not as strong and these nerfs are a bit overkill.
@@joshbaker2047 They did worse. They nerfed off heroic content and didn't consider Mythic or Tier sets before the nerf. Which is horrible. No sustain dps now for higher keys. I love obliterating 20% of mobs health in 1 sec to watch them live for another 4 min after lol
Master Machinists avoiding nerfs is insane to me. Not only is the amount of unavoidable damage completely absurd, but the fight is still a RNG shitshow on safespots. I bricked a 10 yesterday because there literally wasn't a safe spot for the vents so you HAD to stand in the lava STILL on the ground from the previous vents (in the new "safe spot") to avoid Dorito's box which proceeded to just kill anyone anyway with it exploding.
I hope pres doesn’t get gutted in m+ because of raid, the issue with pres lies entirely in how engulf scales with higher target numbers. Engulf is actually a relatively hard ability to play around well but the payoff is just way too large in raid. I could see some utility nerfs being in order for m+ but output wise pres is fine, it has good throughput but is somewhat hard to pilot and play around
I don't think so, it does the best pure AOE damage out of the 3 specs, but it loses hard to prio/cleave damage to arcane and frost which is important in higher keys. Maybe with more gear the ignite cleave build that we saw in DF will get better, but right now it just doesn't compare to arcane or frost cleave. With that being said, all 3 specs are good and you will be able to play high keys with any, just not the highest keys maybe.
@@IncinerateFire Yeah people bring mages in the current meta comps for the prio damage, fire is good in general right now but fits that profile the least. That being said, for most of the playerbase doing whatever weekly keys, literally all the mage specs are super good right now and you can just play what you like and do well.
Agreed. Grim Batol is garbage, Siege is AWFUL, Mists is just boring as hell, Necrotic wake is alright, City of threads is annoying, Ara Kara is just meh. I like Dawnbreaker and Stonevault though. Delete Grim Batol and Siege from the game though. Horrendous dungeons, especially Siege.
Necrotic Wake "skillcheck" appears on 3rd boss, basically near the end of the dungeon - many groups I was in failed there at 9+, huge time waster if you are pugging. Siege of Boralus is just an awful dungeon to run, trash is extremely annoying and the first boss is bugged making Priests and Ele Shamans ninja pull it half the time. Mists of Tirna Something is pretty good.. if your healers do not shit themselves during trash after 2nd boss. Grim Batol is just.. well, there is reason there are fixes and nerfs happening to it each week. Stonevault is pretty okay, but there are definitely mechanics that may just end your dungeon run. City of Threads is a huge skill check for healers and tanks, even on 9+, with experienced people, I had many a run end before even killing 1st boss. Dawnbreaker is just a weird dungeon; every run I have people dying to weird bugs there. Ara-kara is a free dungeon if your group is semi-competent.
@Hekk. Stitchflesh is so much easier when you just slam every single spear on him. We burn him down right around the time he goes back up to the platform after the first dps phase on 10s. But he's an absolute nightmare if you don't use the spears on him.
resto shams are easy to play sure but the main issue is they legit have everything the best healer interrupt, the best poison dispel, hero, easy heals and decent damage all they don’t have is a CR but bring a dk and that’s there only weakness gone. then you look at poor priest who can’t even interrupt or dispel poisons
Even as someone who used to play Shadow Priest (since I rerolled 2 days ago) - I refused to inv priests to anything higher than 7, even as a DPS.. even though I was playing Shadow, lol.
Oh yeah poor priests who have been the top tier healer or 2nd more often than not for like the last 3 expacs. Also Shams don't have "the best poison dispel", it's a 45 sec cd when mechanics often happen on a 20-30 sec timer meaning you have to just raw heal through one wave of stuff.
@@ErebusFOG And there have been seasons where Shamans didn't have healing OR disease dispels or poison dispels and got wrecked for it. The poison addition is relatively new. Also big F you to druids they had it too good for too long.
@@Theparadoxd7 healing priest’s have not been meta since maybe shadowlands (pushing it), and shamans have a totem dispell which can target the whole group vs a pres voker who has a 1 min poison dispell that can only be used on 1 person. so whilst poor shamans have to raw heal through a debuff every 45secs every other spec has to heal through it all the time ! shamans have to much utility for this seasons dungeon pool you can’t defend that
I have no idea why out of the two "runners" in Siege they picked the Gutter. You CAN CC him if he tries to book it. Meanwhile if that first Spotter wants to pull the pack on the left, well, guess you are ending with like 105% count or whatever.
At this point, hands down, this has been the worst experience I've had with wow DUNGEONS as a whole, ever. I think I have about a 15-20% COMPLETION rate with keys (not just timing, but completing the key literally at all). I have (obviously) tried the general pug experience and have had a horrible experience with key success despite looking up guides, trying to stop as much as I can and use defensives when it feels like damage is coming out, always. I have tried lowering the key levels that I apply to just so it's casual so I can actually just complete a key for once and at least get crests or something, doing 5-8's. That doesn't work because people dont do mechanics like hooking stitchflesh. I have tried pushing my own key. That doesn't work even if you take people with appropriate IO, people are regularly leaving keys. Just for some contextual reference, let me just give you an example of what happened to my key this morning. Average 2.5k Io group in a +10. Perfect key, 0 deaths, 2 dps doing 2mil dps on average, it's a stonevault. We get to the twins. The healer mid pull says "SB" and leaves. My key is now a 9. I take 2.4k average players and try again. We get to the twins again and the tank dies at .9% boss health between the two bosses and we instantly wipe with 0% on the boss health. Instant disband. My key is now a +8. I take 2.3k average players because no one is applying to an 8, I've been in queue for 10 minutes so I take the highest IO applicants I have. We get to the first boss, the healer dies within 30 seconds of a pull and I don't even know how. He leaves after the tank almost solos the boss. I now have a +7 key. I have learned nothing about how to improve as a player and every single key that wasn't timed had absolutely no input from me as a dps. This shit is the standard experience for me. I'm not timing keys and it's due to things that are absolutely utterly out of my control, always. In almost every dungeon there is some wild ass mechanic that you have to perfectly do at almost all key levels and it's almost always failed in non-friend/guild groups. These dungeons have been tuned out of existence, there is no key level where you can just enjoy World of Warcraft and get loot. There's virtually no reason to do anything below a +7 when you could do delves with nearly 0 risk of failure with minimal effort. Even heroic raid is vastly more successful IN PUGS than mythic plus dungeons at all key levels from my experience. I pugged 7/8 heroic almost effortlessly and can't time a god damn +7 key to save my life.
idk its been pretty easy for me,got keystone master a few hours in to reset day 1,and got 2500 a week later, and im casual AF when it comes to m+,just doing it for crests and vault never pushing
@@deenman23 I've only timed 1 ten, every group you get insanely punished for even the slightest mistake with that challengers peril affix, the trash mobs in almost every dungeon are way overturned too, it's like we need the gear from vault just to do the dungeons
Unholy also does better boss damage, slightly more survivable is AoE from blood plague, better scaling with shaman buff, and has extra stops from their pet. You're losing sustained AoE, damage on 2-5 targets, and slows from Frost DK. Meta will probably end up UH for dungeons you can pull big and Frost for smaller pull dungeons
i heal 10gb with 610 item lvl on Rsham prenerf. felt like the hardest dungeon I have ever healed in my life.. people were literally less than 5% health multiple times
Was in a 10 siege of boralus and we were running fine until the last boss. The healer just couldn't handle it (which i can't blame them) and as a vdh i just felt like i could never get my hp back unless the healer spammed me.
@@tkaz123 For now until they need the extra healing and it will swap to pres as their healing is absurd. Most people just saw "Rsham in S tier" tierlists and have gone with the safe pick but once others start to gear their class they want to push on (which won't be for a month or two at least) then we will start to see the real meta emerge. Also Blizzard will probably just nerf Rsham too soon and Pres gets away with dominating M+ and Raid as per usual. They can't let Resto have fun anywhere in the game.
@@Theparadoxd7 RSham 100% keeps its top spot unless it gets gutted. It does just as much if not more healing in keys (Pres is on Chrono not Flameshaper like Raid), brings a unique buff (Pres+Aug IS redundant), and has better externals for raidwides. SLink is one hell of a drug when it also instantly chain heals to top people the group up. Also, idk why we are pretending Pres has been dominating M+. It was the margininally best healer in season 1 then got gutted to bottom 2-3 for the next 3 seasons when they effectively removed Temporal Anomaly from the game with 0 compensation.
Classwise I think they should hotfix more, meta has beeb stale already in my opinion and keys are horrible to pug in my opinion.. also dont like having to farm 90 crests from +9s
I think frost mage is better on some dungeons like arakara where some of the trash packs at the start are large and dont have many mobs with high health pools. They also are not the best at killing the adds on the first boss whereas frost always has and little damage to deal with them and a mass slow. I think the bigger your pulls, the more value frost has since the target cap also doesnt hit it as hard.
It depends. Arcane's prio damage in AoE during cooldowns is illegal. Even taking the Arakara example if you group everything on top of the lieutenant Arcane is going to shred it and still do decent damage to the rest of the pack through TotM and Barrages. Most of the time AoE damage isn't the limiting factor. Unless you are going to die to the fodder (see pre-nerf hatchlings in GB one shotting tanks) it doesn't matter how fast you kill the small things when the lieutenant is at half health. This is also usually why Warrior isn't good in high keys because they blow their load "padding" on worthless trash killing it "too fast" when a SPriest or Ignite Fire Mage will eventually just cleave it down anyway.
I dont completely understand how aug adds so much survivability, in the top keys with augs they are rarely casting blistering scales. So does the survivability come from ebon might and the stat boost?
@@jacobzoellner9770 3% stam from Black Attunement. Also main stat on tanks almost ALWAYS adds survivability (higher Ignore Pain, Ironfur, Stagger, etc.) and they also bring main stat and a straight up 3% throughput gain to healers (from Source of Magic).
I think regarding the Irontide Raiders as a general rule of thumb these "hook" effects need to just have a minimum range (only drag people from like 15-60 yds). They can still do damage or whatever, but constantly getting my casts stopped by nonsense is annoying af even if he only moves you literally 1 pixel.
Question: I've been playing Aug Evoker this season and it's really starting to piss me off. The tiniest bump/curb COMPLETELY debilitates Breath of Eons in that I can't FLY over a bump on the ground? Lol. Is this a problem for anyone else or do I just suck or am I missing something? Thanks!
No one in these comments is doing keys that require meta comps. Don't blindly follow the less than 1%. Your class/comp does not matter in your weekly keys.
some comps do make things substantialy easier, having a resto shaman that can interupt on 12 seconds and get a 30% dmg reduction 100% uptime is INSANE,the fact they have amazing single target and group heal is busted, runing with a ret pala on 10 keys is also super good with x2 freedom, bop, combat res, sustain aoe, extreme self defence, strong comps are even better for lower skiled people ironicaly
This is such a lame take. Better classes make any key easier. Can you time any +7 with any classes? Absolutely. Will having the best classes in your group make it substantially easier? Obviously.
Ahh the classic "You ain't the 1% take" that we see every time a meta comp video comes out. Classes that are good at the highest key level are still good at the lowest key level. When a class is overall just better then another class across the board. Even if you are doing low keys the key will be significantly easier bringing the good classes vs the bad ones. Idk why people's brains can't comprehend that.
@tettles please be our voice and talk about how terrible the reward system is in m+ rn. 10s should not be this difficult, and a weekly no leaver key is so unhealthy for our community.
If I hear "bUt It'S tUnEd FoR hIgHeR iLvL" argument one more time I'm going to scream. I don't care, I DON'T CARE what level it's "tuned for" we need them for gear progression. If the game had 9's as the difficulty you needed for vault it would be FAR more forgiving and acceptable but they've messed up and pugging is an absolute nightmare. I've had 3 tanks that just leave instantly if there's one wipe even after saying they are okay to join a "weekly no leaver". Wasting EVERYONE'S time.
Viqgoth as well. Balls spawns in water and just goes straight to the demolisher who one shots people with a 30% buffed slam. Skill issue I guess for not swimming in shark infested water to soak.

Can't you just press more healing spells or use a cd? It was only one swirly I got hit by, it was only a couple of kicks we didn't land"
Like it's not on that healers (already the hardest role in the game) now have this extra layer of shit they have to try and deal with.
@@OMGITSJAD When have they not adjusted raids/dungeons in WoW after it went live though? Same was happening 20 years ago

@@FeralKobold LOL, literally same, except I'm the tank.
The change that is still bothering more then almost anything is moving the guilded crests to only be in 9+ keys. Good luck getting invited to them, and even if you do a pug that is good enough to get you the 12 at the end of the dung. It puts so many of us into a plateau state with out gear compared to all other seasons.
I thought that they said they were moving away from oneshot mechanics? Feels like there are even more now.
i remember a time when ppl complained about 3 classes dominating M+. The current M+ situation seems like a Deja Vu
This will never not be the situation at the top end of m+

Outside of unfair overlaps or outright bugs its not the hardest dungeon out there but the success rate is so low cause of al the random stuff that can just kill people (or make a boss dissapear...)

@@deenman23 maybe for arms but fury is below aug on single target
I could see some utility nerfs being in order for m+ but output wise pres is fine, it has good throughput but is somewhat hard to pilot and play around
so far all the nerfs are focusing on flameshaper - chronowarder is unchanged
As he slowly covers the mages taking most 3rd spots.... I said it last week on his video.. Fire mage is the 3rd spot... Get ready...

Ara-kara is a free dungeon if your group is semi-competent.

resto shams are easy to play sure but the main issue is they legit have everything the best healer interrupt, the best poison dispel, hero, easy heals and decent damage all they don’t have is a CR but bring a dk and that’s there only weakness gone. then you look at poor priest who can’t even interrupt or dispel poisons
Also they are the only healer that brings Curse dispel (Resto druid doesn't exist) and theres a lot of curse dispells too.

The putrid water and AOE overlap just kills me from 100 to 0 in 0.1s lmao

Absolutely yes. The leaderboards currently are filled with Rsham at the VERY top of competitive play.
Good shit Tettles
Frost for the slows
Hell yea
why no link to the info?
I dont completely understand how aug adds so much survivability, in the top keys with augs they are rarely casting blistering scales. So does the survivability come from ebon might and the stat boost?
Yep stat boost and the aura plus all the passive rotational stuff they have, like upheaval knockup.
@@NewMetaTV what aura?

Aug meta is the most stupid shit. Mostly because it have been meta af since its release.
Idk man I’m not the best but we’re doing 10s and 11s across the board and you bet your ass it makes a difference

Evoker IS "broken" in throughput, but it is horrendously bad at dealing with mistakes like a volley going off since it only does high healing through Echo or abilities with cooldowns.
You look like Caoimhín Kelleher if you didnt have beard and glasses
healers just need to dispel faster. Also, if you bring a aff lock it becomes the easiest dungeon ever ( singe magic)
Bard class would fix aug probs. You could delete Outlaw rogue and give them a ranged support spec. 😊
Just give something to DH. Make it do debuffs instead of buffs for a similar effect as Aug.
Pls stop promoting Augs.
They are absolutely horrendous at the game and could never support me properly in any key even at 3.7k.
Since DF S2 the spec I avoid the most has always been Augs.
Do we really need to all climb to 4k (as feral lololol) to finally find Augs who actually understand their role ? I can count on my hand the number of racial aoe stops used through the previous expansion, zephyrs, sleepwalk skip going well, actually using their 2 dispells once, or even the times i've been buffed + breathed on fcking Berzerk rather than in the void or WHEN THE PACK IS DYING. They don't even give the scales on the fcking tank in 9 keys out of 10, even in +20. I can't.
I don't know man. Delete augs. So bad players can't be carried that high.
Tettles, please stop touching your hair so much.
He is insecure cus he always have bad takes
@@Robin...222 Yeah, but I mean.. come on. Every minute he touches his hair
Meta dude but still a horrible player
