Potatoes and other nightshade plants and all starches are inflammatory to the gut and have other detrimental effects for people with autoimmune conditions/leaky gut and starches feed candida and parasites.
Allegedly, resistant starch is beneficial but in my experience, it feeds candida just the same.
Don't believe me, research further yourself and experiment if you like.

@@shantinaturechild6385 I think you are referring to lectins. Which is not too bad for potatoes. There are worse starches then potatoes, like legumes.

What do you think? I make my own prebiotic by feeding L-reuteri bacillus with Inulin in a in a base of half and half for 36 hours at 100 degrees F. This is suggested by Dr. Davis (RUclips) the author or many books. Thank you for a great presentation.

It's written that inulin also feed the bad bacteria!!

@@Super_Fun_Phonics I think the inulin, where the quantity is carefully controlled, is totally devoured in the process of multiplying the L. Ruteri thousands of times. There are no bad bacteria introduced during the sterile process.

@@tomtigner9824 l had bought inulin powder before knowing about the fact that it also feed bad bacteria and did the same as you did. I added it to my water kefir or kombucha to feed the good critters. Dosage is also key. If l eat 1kg of asparagus, endive, artichokes or Israel artichokes high in inulin I trust it's beneficial as it's a food. I know about fodmap too. It's tricky! Best stick to nature or low dosage to use up what you have. I will check out the person you mentioned!

@@shantinaturechild6385 I do not eat Inulin powder. I purchase individual bacteria, specific strains, known to be "good," then incubate them at a temperature needed by the particular one, to multiply the bacteria count to several billion. I feed my starter batch with inulin and it it consumed by the process and ideally there is none left in the final product. It is a yogurt like tasty dessert to those of us that use the process. If this procedure were not followed and inulin were consumed directly the carbs alone would be enough problem to cause me not to consume it. Thanks for the discussion.

@@propletrelooxretlitre5705 Thank you, I should be more careful, I should should have said, my own prBiotics . I don't really make them I incubate or multiply them, buying specific strains of several bacteria by feeding them them with inulin, potato starch or sucrose. I follow Dr William Davis' plan, you can google him. PeObiotic makers almost never tell us the strains they use and it is very important. BTW, we try to eat 20 grams of prEbiotics each day to feed the little good guys. There is so much more, please look up Dr. Davis and his program. He is the expert not me.

@@amarali1440 certainly inulin would be beneficial to the gut microflora in the absence of a balance diet made up of Whole Foods-plant based. I am happy for you that it is helping your son. There is an off a lot of reputable science on the micro biome out there these days. You don’t have to get it from quacks we’re trying to make a quick buck without having done any science themselves. As to olive oil I have no understanding of how that might be working.
