    It’s called an Amish mistake i.e. The Amish always make a purposeful error in their work as they believe only God is perfect. I made a mistake in the very center of my granddaughter’s knitted tunic dress. Doesn’t fix the mistake but made me feel so much better 😁. Love your blogs - greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦👍

    Oh, Anja, it is just absolutely gorgeous! I am so glad to see that you moved forward and finished it without ripping it back. Seriously, when it was in the park on the bench and fence, it just looked exquisite without any flaws what so ever. Such a good job of color coordination as well, my dear.

    Anja, I am so happy that you finished your gorgeous blanket! You sound very happy with it! I looked closely at it hangong on "your" fence and I don't see a narrower area! It looks humanly perfect!
    I made a stash buster a couple of years ago in a one row per color Jacob's Ladder pattern. It is beautiful and my son loved it so much that he had to have it! Didn't make a dent in my yarn stash! 😂 Mostly, I use a lot of my left over yarn to make stuffed toys, beanies & mittens that I donate at Christmas. But I'll definitely be making your gorgeous stash buster blanket soon. Hmmm...maybe I'll use the pattern for some lap blankets to donate too.
    Thank you fir your excellent tutorials!
    BTW - I've been putting your love lock on shawls since I saw that tutorial and my girlfriends love the freedom it gives them!

      Lynn Winter I hope you don't mind my interrupting, but I'd like to know more about making preemie hats, and I thought you might be able to steer me toward instructional videos. My daughter had a preemie last month, and I'd like to make some simple preemie hats to donate to her NICU. I'm hoping to use up a lot of my stash of scrap yarn in the process as well. Do you find that the places you donate to still want hats in the warmer months? Thanks for any advice you can offer me.

    Your blanket is totally gorgeous and I'm so glad you took it out of the naughty corner and finished it ! 😍 This is probably a stupid question, but was the yarn you used all the same thickness/ply? I'm thinking it must be, but hoping it's not because I have scraps of all different sorts.

    • @OpheliaTalks
      @OpheliaTalks  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Liz, yes unfortunately this is all the same brand of yarn I used for this blanket, I purposely always buy the same brand, so I can add it to my leftover box knowing that it is all the same and it will all go together for the scrap blanket! If you do mix up brands, at least try to have the same thickness, because that will make a big difference in your stitches, if you use thin and chunky together it is going to look odd, unless you don't mind... go for it!! xxx

      I always stick to one kind, otherwise you will end up with thicker and thinner patches in your blanket.... Thanks for watching! I am glad you are liking my videos! xxx

    Hello
    Top class blanket.
    Don't know if I've asked you before but where did you get the yarn bag please?

      Do you mean the muslin bag? That is from wool warehouse, they send the wool in it when you purchase from them...

    I REALLY like your Scrap Blanket!!! It is sooo beautiful!!! I hope that someday I will have the time to make one that is almost as pretty as yours. :) ... .... Just wondering, though, doesn't it concern you that the blanket was put on a possibly, dirty bench and was touching the dirty concrete ground when you took photos of it at the park?

      Jennifer Brummitt hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and I am sure that any blanket you attempt will look as nice if not nicer than mine! I don’t worry about wet or dirty... i also take them to the beach sometimes.... I want to use and enjoy my blankets and if dirty they go in the wash!!! (I mean I am not going to put it down if really muddy but I have never had a dirty blanket from a photoshoot) keep watchingxxx

      you would have to add multiples of three and then add your turning chain, .. does this help?
