I had some very old yarns I thought I would make blankets but I gave them away to my sister in law's brother's wife. Because I wasn't getting time to use and wouldn't for this year. But looking at your blankets I will give it a try. I hope so. Love all your blankets
I love your blankets and I must confess I like scrapghans more than regular patterns. My daughter sent me a picture of a loose crocheted long beach skirt she would like and I think that Spice of life you showed would work for that. I was ill in 2020 and 2021 and I made 20 blankets and gave away 19 of them. Thanks.
Love your stash blankets 👍thank you for sharing. I love your shawl also BTW. I’ve made scrapghans over lockdown one of the positives I took from the Covid pandemic 😊
Hi Leilonni! Thank you so much. It sounds like we share a love of making blankets. They are so very rewarding and keep us so cozy! Thank you so much for visiting and commenting! 💜
I am a first time viewer of your channel. I am in the middle of going through my yarn and planning projects. I have a friend that gets a lot of my odd balls and scraps.
I am very excited to hear about other people's interest in handiwork I love the yarn from different countries I love alpaca silk bamboo yarn I make clothes for children who love to get the things I make My children are not here in the world so to fill in the gap I give to them and I love to get a smile that's all God blesses me for it
So happy to have found your video! You’re so right - just use the yarn! You’ve given me that last push as I’ve been looking at The Spice of Life pattern (and thinking of getting more yarn 😮😮!). Nope I will use the lovely colors I already have! Oh and I love your use of black yarn with the lighter colors - great pop! Thanks again!
My all time favorite is a scrappy blanket! I've made loads of them, and I love all kinds of color. If someone seems to like them, I'll give them one. Thanks for sharing.
Ophelia, your personality will have a Jewish mother from New York so comfortable in her skin, she could let her guard down and not worry one bit about anything! Imagine a pitcher of room temperature Pepsi, having a bunch of ice dumped into it! The way the Pepsi effervesces all over-is your personality!😁🤭🤓! Keep up the great work on the YT channel. I'm a 58 year young guy whose been crocheting since I was 5 years old, &, I'm left handed-crocheting left handedly backwards-left-to-right! Doug
You popped up,on my iPad…and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Your scrap blankets are wonderful. I love to crochet blankets.. and I’ve knitted a couple… Lately, I’ve bern using Jayda in Stitches ripple pattern…and Red Heart Stripes, to crochet lapghans. They are addictive….I;m loving the bright colors. My stash is pretty small, compared to that of others.. I had to downsize quite a lit, when I moved from my roomy house, to a very small apartment. I;ve had to give away most of my scraps…
Love your blankets! I have been crocheting for 51 years and making blankets has always been my favorite thing to do. My favorite ones are my scrap blankets because they are so colorful and use the yarn you already have! Sandra Paul of Cherry Heart is one of my favorite designers. I have made her Battenburg blanket and it is beautiful.
OH MY 😱 HOW BEAUTIFUL ❤ I absolutely know what you mean by A LOT OF YARN IN YOUR STASH. I donated 6 large black garbage bags of yarn to Salvation Army. I wish I would have seen this video before doing that because I would ABSOLUTELY make these blankets. I would do the same thing when I saw a new yarn I loved 😂 Thank you for sharing these free patterns, I will definetly be making them with the yarn I didn't donate, so excited to pick the yarns to use. Thank you again for sharing. God bless 🙏🥰
99% of my yarn goes into hats I donate to our local WIC office. For years, I would scrap yarn to make scrappy hats. Some of the color combos were strangely unique. Now, need to give afghans a try.
The Spice of Life blanket was my very first crochet project and I absolutely LOVE it! I'm already working on a second one that is going to be my sister's Christmas gift, and I'm also going to download the Spicier Life pattern. Sandra's projects always turn out SO pretty and she has awesome tutorials on RUclips to help you out with all the stitches.
Yes, I've done scrapghans and I love to make afghans and blankets. I just get all my leftover yarns and in no particular order and crochet till they run out. No colour control. Your blankets are gorgeous!
This is the first one of your videos I've watched, and I love your energy and enthusiasm. Those blankets turned out great! Even the one with your "ugly" yarns. Lol
this is one of my issues i went crazy buying yarns when i first got into knit and crochet and ended up with alot of yarn and not knowing what do do with it ..i love all those patterns i think i might try the first one thanks for sharing :)
Yarn is just so beautiful- it’s hard to resist - especially when we see them in colors we love. Please do share if you jumó in to make it! It was a fun pattern. Thank you for visiting! 🙏🏽💕
When I started in yarn work my friend/coworker would buy me yarn at Goodwill so I have lots of small amounts of yarn. She surprisingly also found lots of full skeins of the same yarn. I just made mine with double stitches but I worked with whatever color of yarns I had and used 2 strands the whole time. I loved how they turned out.
I use 2 strands of yarn one is a large solid color skein of yarn the other is my scrap ball of yarns I magic knot together. I found your channel today. Thank you
I happened upon your channel today for the first time. I made the Spice of Life afghan and look forward to checking out some of the other scrapghans you mentioned. Thanks for inf
Love your video. I have made several stash buster blankets but never from a pattern I will have to check out your links. Great way to use up those one and two skeins of yarn. Last year I made crazy amount of scarfs from left over yarn and after I gave some away still have too many left for another round of giving.
HI Olivia...just found you! Boy do I know what you mean about LOTS OF YARN and STILL BUYING!!! I will try this idea....will even do one with lots of 'cakes' that I have!! YARN BANS are way to hard to follow!! ha!! THANKS for the GREAT IDEA and NO BOREDOM!!!
Thanks for the video and what to do with all my DK weight yarn. It’s funny how your video popped up just when I have been thinking what to do with my stash. I bought years ago on Black Friday sale and has been sitting in my closet for ten years! I do wish I had more colours but I think they will work great together. Thanks 🙏🏻
I have only just found you and I just have to say I’m so glad I have , I hate doing blankets but I’m really wanting to make one now so I’m going to check out the patterns you have made and have a go thank you so much xxx
Love your energy and blankets. You have a new subscriber. I crochet to donate to the needy and love making scrap lap and pet blankets. Never thought of incorporating different stitches in a project. Great Idea! 👍
These are fantastic! I love that you are using leftover yarn and creating something both practical and beautiful. I am a fairly new crocheter......not quite a year. I already have a fair amount of leftover yarn and didn't want to waste it. Now, I am very excited about using it for scrap-ghans. (And watching my children and grandchildren claim them ! Haha)
You are like my twin sister from another mister 🤣🤣 A few years ago I taught myself to crochet from RUclips videos, because my hands needed something to do. I love beautiful yarn and I love different stitches & patterns. I am also now left with a lot of left over yarn that I want to make something with so I can make space for new yarn 😁
I was just looking at my yarn stash recently and thinking I need to use up some yarn…and then, poof!…your video appeared! I love your blankets and you’ve given me the courage to give making a stashgan a try! Thanks for sharing your beautiful blankets with us and for your encouraging words! 😊
I like to use my scraps making fiddle muffs for the elderly and kids with issues. I also makes hats and scarves for the homeless. Then i make hats and scarves for operation gratitude. Operation gratitude sends care packages to our guys and gals over seas and their families struggling at home. they also give to first responders and everyone on the front lines. Very worthy organization. Thanks for sharing your items.
That is a beautiful thing you do. 💓💓 I’m sure they are so appreciated. I’ve done hats and scarves for foster children in the past when I had more time. I’ve seen folks put scarves and a hat with a tag around their towns for the homeless. I want to do that one day.
I'm into shawls for all my yarn journey and only once made a car lap afgan for my mom (cozy and warm but acrilyc) . But now I surf around to find blanket ideas so thank you for mention about wool/acrilyc - I think with our weather I need wool, even acrilyc been way more durable and washable.
Hello! I really love all three blankets 🤩 It has given me some great ideas since I never considered that a skein or two really work as a scrap blanket. I’m going to add this project to my “ to make “ wish list. Thank you! 🧶💕
Wow! I’m impressed with all your beautiful blankets. What makes them is definitely the textures. I made a scrappy blanket but used the same stitch throughout. It’s very nice but yours is much nicer. We all live in Florida so there is only a very short time when we might use a blanket. I am definitely going to try these patterns with all my leftover yarns. This is my first time here. Nice to “meet” you! Candace in Florida
I really like your color choices. They are dark, and medium, and look so warm. I seem to have too many pastels, and so am interested in these darker afghans.
New Subbie! Olivia! These blankets are absolutely beautiful! From a distance, all the colors make them look almost Aztec in appearance, absolutely gorgeous! I’ve also been looking for some easy patterns for tons of scrap yarns because I have tons! Lol! I was thinking about doing a wave pattern for my scraps but looking at yours, wow! I too love textured patterns as well. Thank you for sharing with us
Love the versatility and creativity of all the blankets. I enjoyed all of them. What a good use of yarn making beautiful and very useful projects that all can enjoy! I'm a new subscriber and know I will truly enjoy upcoming projects. Thanks!
Very interesting blanket s you have made with your scraps!😢 14:30 ❤❤❤

All 3 lapgans are beautiful. I'm hoping to make one soon.
I’m inspired! Thanks 😊

These are an answer to a prayer!
I love the way the stitches change.
It’s not a boring repeat.
I also love making scrap blankets and then giving them away
Love your stash blankets 👍thank you for sharing. I love your shawl also BTW. I’ve made scrapghans over lockdown one of the positives I took from the Covid pandemic 😊
Your blankets are jazzy and fun. Best of all they are used.
Those afghans are beautiful.
Very pretty blankets, I would love to get rid of all my scarp yarn 🧶thanks for sharing. God bless

I love it. They are all beautiful.
I love all of your blankets. They are just beautiful. You have inspired me to make a scrap blanket.
I love making blankets out of scraps. I’ve made many baby blankets that way and donated them to charities like Knit for Kids.

Thank you! Seeing all the colors make me so happy! And I used up A LOT of yarn! =D
Beautiful. Good ideas for prayer shawls or Linus Project items.
I agree with you. My stash is mostly odds and ends. I will try to do what you recommend to make a useful project.
