I love homespun yarn!! Liked it better when there were more options, but I love it. I use an H or I hook and rarely have problems.

Homespun is not one of my favorites but it can be useful for a project when I need to combine skeins of donated yarn.
The direction you wrap your yarn is opposite of the way I wrap mine. Except that when you double wrap the yarn, you wrap two different directions. Now I'm eager to try your design to see if mine finished blanket looks very different. My homespun yarn is in storage so I need to retrieve it.
I'm pretty sure the magic knit is just another way of tying a square knot which is also very secure.

I left my tree up till after valentines before. The rule is when the ornaments, are falling off the dry tree take it down. No lights after it gets dry tho. With an artificial tree it is till the cats are daring to steal ornaments and climb it. The first time I watched you was when you showed the big stack of scraptastic blankets . They are pretty awesome!

It takes approx 6-7 seven ounce skeins of Red Heart Super Saver 4 weight yarn to make a throw size afghan. (50"x60") It depends on the stitch used and the tension.
I base this on personal experience and uses of lots of Red Heart yarn. There are similar yarns that are compatible.

I have a lot of homespun. I did knit a blanket a long time ago. I also made a sweater it’s very heavy.
I went up in my attic and got it down. I did 100 stitches with a p hook 1 strand of homespun 1 strand of worsted weight. I’m doing 5 rows and changing colors. I have a bunch of a variegated green I may change the worsted weight every 5 rows in another one

I just finished a shrug made from Loops & Threads Madrid with cuffs and border from Homespun yarn. Because the Madrid is a self-striping yarn, I kind of had trouble selecting a solid that would coordinate. I had doubts about the Homespun until I had finished the first cuff, but I love the finished result. I used a Susan Bates Crystal Lite hook and it worked nicely. 😃

Hi Camper! Definitely try mixing it with another Yarn..... it's a game changer! Also, there's no reason for my workings on my stitches. It's just how I crochet 🤪. They are just regular hdc, so just do it however it feels comfortable to you.😊

I don’t understand the issues with Homespun. It just takes some finagling to get used to the texture. Also after a certain number of blankets the household can only use so many so I donate yarn to Goodwill that way others can also have fun using nice yarns and who knows? Maybe they make scrappy blankets too ☺️
