I have watched around 20 hours of analyses on Arshad Sharif’s murder and this is by far the most intelligent and balanced. Especially loved the analysis that the battle field for civilian supremacy / constitutionalism has shifted to Punjab and will be interesting to watch how that unravels.

The overall feeling I got was that both Uzair and Shehzad are skeptics and think this is purely a power hungry struggle and that people who have been motivated by PTI to fight for civilian supremacy are just drinking the kool aid, which to be honest is a really depressing outlook. I think the only reason Imran has the people’s support and Nawaz didn’t when they were both in the same situation was that Imran could be seen struggling to improve people’s lives (even with the mistakes they were making) there was effort, there was regular communication directly with the public people felt engaged as citizens, for Nawaz his rallying call was its unfair the army allowed the courts to implement justice. Why should this sentiment be belittled as drinking the kool aid ?

@14:05 the speaker ascribed to DGI something to the effect of "we have closed ranks and there is no constitutional way for you to win a war" i.e. meaning IK wanting to change the government. Don't think DGI inferred that, he was saying we won't support anything "unconstitutional" to get another government into power including Khan sahib's and that is what the next set of military leaders have decided on. Political narratives of each political party aside, if the establishment stays aligned on this promise to stay out, this could be a good thing for Pakistan regardless of the circus between PTI-PDM.

The power of the pakistani intelligentia can be compared to the power US CIA had during the height of the cold war. In the US during the late 50s and early 60s, the so called threat of communism enabled the military to become so big and powerful that they simply became untouchable. They influenced all levels of government and includenced the public discourse. JFK spoke against it and paid the ultimate price.
In Pakistan, the so called Kashmir freedom movement is that catalyst that made the Army bigger than the actual threat. In my opinion, the significant power that Army asserts in all walks of Pakistani life can not removed unless Pakistan as a nation gives up the mirage of kashmir struggle. The LOC should be considered as a defacto border and effort should be made to normalise relations with India.

@The Pakistan Experience Always something to learn Shahzad bhai whenever I listen to your podcasts great job, keep it up. Just one thing I wanted to say, @27:07 the snippet of Arshad's tweet is fake. Yes he said pretty nasty things about many people and victims at many times, May Allah have mercy on his soul Ameen, but this tweet seemed photoshoped for several reason hence I checked and turned out to be fake. No such tweet on the mentioned date exists, in fact no tweet from his account with the word پارسل appeared in the search results. Apart from that, once again a very good episode.

@@ThePakistanExperience Twitter advance search feature. It let’s you use attributes like key words, Parcel ( I searched it in Urdu of course) in this case, exact handle you want to search a tweet coming from, the date and much more. Result didn’t show a single tweet from his handle with word parcel. In fact he didn’t tweet anything between Sep 14-15 2018 as the date stamp on the snippet shows that’s when he tweeted about Kulsum Nawaz, checked that as well to be sure. If the tweet was later deleted by Arshad can’t say واللہُ اعلمُ but it isn’t there on his profile.

There are so many open ends and the incidence happened on a foreign land. The basic question of who could benefit and who is at disadvantage from the incident. There is an argument that CTD (counter terrorism departments) don't issue threat alerts on their own but this time the KPK CTD did it. Reportedly the officer authorizing the threat alert was unwilling to issue it, owning to lack of evidence but he was forced to issue.

While listening to this podcast, i just found out there might be a way to prove that there is no logical way to explain the creation of human. And how we thought we are humans because we think logically but what if we are humans because we have the capability of being ILLOGICAL. An extension of that is, how can an illogical thought be developed? Also what if the part developing the illogical thought is actually influencing the logical thought in a way that creates a need within a need. For example, religion can create existantial crisis aswell as solve existantial crisis, what is the binary combination that leads to this thought?Just like an irrational number is something which has an r for every p,q such that p/q + r. So for every r there is another r so u can not have a logic where u can create an irrational number. Or mathematically there is no root. Its always an approximation. Shit im daydreaming while commenting

Creation is also by chance. It is the survival brain that is the strongest not logical. The logical part of the brain is the weakest. Religion, Sates, etc are an emotional entity which is also more powerful than logical or rational. Communism or arthasatra is based on logical supremacy. Triune brain theory.
