- [4K Excellent Low Light] Full Dinosaur Ride-through in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Is it me? or is the Dinosaur ride track almost identical to Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland?
"Take off on a scary, prehistoric tour aboard a rip-roaring Time Rover to save a dinosaur from extinction." - Walt Disney World website
This ride scared me so much as a kid! It jerked around a lot and was so bumpy that I was absolutely terrified I would fall out of the car and get left behind all alone in the dark with the scary dinosaurs. A fate worse than death....
Erin Delic dude what....
Same! That happened to me!
Especially when the Trex looking one was chasing you, I cried dude.
LookedFiddle 18 that wasn’t a t-Rex.
Erin Delic SAME the dinosaurs scared me the most...
Greatest POV of this ride, I can actually see things!
There is a hidden Micky mouse head at the end of the ride for anyone who bought the little book thing to check off hidden mickys
I remember that once after the end of the ride, the tv monitors on the exit paths will show CCTV cameras "instaled in various zones of the Dino Institute" streaming Aladar´s (the iguanodon) persecuting and following personel in a funny way. Meaning that the whole ride actually helped the crazy scientific to achieve his plans!
This is my favorite Disney ride ever, in any Disney Park, this is just my all time favorite Disney ride.
Best POV of this ride ever !!
+AMagicProduction But some of the effects weren't on, like after the asteroid impact, that time tunnel should be flashing, but here it didn't.

Oof
I love this ride, probably one of the reasons Animal kingdom is one of the best Disney parks. But the Carnitore Dino thingy scared me when I first rode this. Lol- I need to ride it again
I respect your opinion, but Hollywood studios is my favorite with the star wars rides.
+ccateni WAN Hollywood studios is one of my favorites too, Disney has made some of the best family parks
TheyMightBeBricks agree, i like universal, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom.
The correct name for the large horned carnivore dinosaur is Carnotaurus.
Anything with dinosaurs = instant win
Did you know at the part when it gets bumpy you are riding over a saltasaurus tail and if you look back it turns to look at you and your car?
I didn't know that, that's great trivia though!
Tis true! I took a track walk long ago, and the first dinosaur you see actually has no tail because it wouldn't fit, so they installed it on the other side. And the story is that it's Salty's tail.
Huh never knew that
I find this ride so interesting especially the walking Carnatourus
I rode this ride 4 times with my husband on our WDW trip. It wasn't until the 3rd time that I even noticed the dinosaur at the end (where the boulder is on Indy) and it scared the crap out of me!
I remember riding that when I went and absolutely adored it! I miss Disney world 😢
2:14 monster attack of the carnotaurus!!! 2:58 incoming pteradactyl!!!! 3:14 the Carnotaurus approaches us for another attack!!! 3:37 MASSIVE ROAR OF THE CARNOTAURUS!!!!!!!!!! 3:45 to save Aladar the iguanadon!!! 3:54 for the end of the carnotaurus!!!
great video and it only solidifies for me how dark this ride is for much of the ride, even when filming with your camera. thank you again 😊
i remember riding this with my brother after obtaining a fastpass. We were having a nice conversation about how disney does things like this and how they make it feel so real, shame you cant hear a damn thing on this ride
The lighting and brightness is legit in this video!!!! Awesome bro!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
AMAZING VIDEO 😍😍 one of the best quality videos of this ride I've seen! Fantastic job!
This has been my all-time favorite ride since I was 4, I hope they never take it out.
"I freakin love this ride" 😂😂
Awesome video (as are all the others I've watched)! Thanks for posting. The ride looks good too, except for a few missing effects at the very beginning
Somehow I got my mom, who is terrified of pretty much any slightly thrilling ride (she won't even ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and she reluctantly rides Pirates of the Caribbean because she doesn't like that tiny drop on it) to go on this. She actually took it quite well and had fun. But she made the mistake of wearing her hat on the ride, and it flew off her head! I wonder if it's still there somewhere, or if the dinosaurs ate it. 😂
Best quality video I've seen of this ride!
It is the exact same track and ride vehicles, but completely different surroundings, as the Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland. Both are great and thrilling, bur Dinosaur has an increased fear factor. Thanks for a clear video of this attraction.
I have a really bad fear of dinosaurs. Even the ones that eat plants. I can't watch Jurassic Park at night by myself I get way to freaked out. If I went on this ride it would kill me
+Jonathan Calderon Me too :)
loool me too, im watching it in a little screen 😂
Same i thought i was the only one.
This attraction is fantastic. I'd go again and again if I could
Fantastic. I've been hoping for a long time you'd make it to the east coast. I've been on this once and always wanted to have a good POV to think back on.
They're not gonna make it! They're not gonna make it! ... You made it!

"Rare footage of Carnotaurs and Iguanadons in their natural habitat"
great quality video, but sad that you can clearly see the effects that have been reduced or removed over the years. The primary one that sticks out to me is the "scanning" laser and fog effect at the beginning as you enter the tunnel.
+haiderodes I remember the first iteration of this (called Countdown to Extinction) was absolutely terrifying. They have toned this way down (on purpose - it used to make children cry) with more lighting and scenery, but originally it was like riding a bucking bronco through 80% pitch darkness with dinosaurs lighting up and flying out at you. The first 'computer, full stop' moment was followed by lighting up the carnotaurus in your face. The scene where it runs alongside the car was mind-blowing, and the final full-figure didn't light up till you were right underneath and it was lunging down...which is when they took the picture.
I remember going on this ride with my dad
This ride uses the same tech and has the exact same layout all the way down to the track as the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland
Why can't they just travel to before the meteor shower? Why do they only warp to within 3 minutes of it. Seems pretty illogical to me
Ikr?
That would be a pretty boring ride that few would wait in line 45 minutes for.
Harry Heywood because the iguanadon's presence would most likely appear around that time
Time travel-related consequences (the short story called A Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury explains & illustrates this very well):
Iguanodon's actions have impacted the tangled web of interactions within the ecological system it was a part of at that time it was alive, with such impact ceasing only moments before its death, which in this case was moments before a meteor shower killed it and all other nearby life
Scientists, including the one guy who had that hare-brained idea of bringing back this Iguanodon with the time travel car, want to be careful as to not impact anything outside of this area & time frame of death, both space & time wise, since doing so could very likely lead to time travel changes in the future
Bringing in the Iguanodon to our time, before its established time & area of death, could for example instead leave plant food to feed another animal that could potentially be a distant ancestor to a whole family tree of people, whom may or may not call themselves the New Hitlers or something, and nobody really wants to risk having a WWIII by accidentally impacting other creatures' lives and deaths, so... No messing with the past outside of very carefully pre-planned routes (which the hare-brained scientist who brought us on this ride kinda ignored)
Dinosaur was one of my favorite movies growing up! I wish I had a chance to ride this growing up, but that was kinda impossible as I lived in California and Missouri!
AWESOME footage!😄
I remember the dinosaurs being a lot bigger when I was tiny.
I remember Mara on Indy in Disneyland being a lot bigger when I was in middle school.
0:35 Excellent advice, especially when being chased by dinosaurs
The ride seems a lot tamer. Also, they should actually maintain this ride. When I went on the first encounter with the carnataurus wasn't working. He just didn't come up.
Omg I remember going on this as a kid. I think the Animal Kingdom had just opened recently when I went. Still have one of the Tee Shirts
え〜普通にめっちゃ楽しそう✋🏻
Just a thought
Why does everyone hate the dinosaur ride it's an amazing ride I will always ride it!!
if I've Was There And I Encountered The Carnotaurus I Would be Like "RUN IT'S GODZILLA!!!!!!!!!!!"
I realized the Styracosaurus isn't moving its head as much as it should. Hey Disney, get off your high horse/lazy ass and do some maintenance on these dinos!
Still my favourite ride ever
Years back me and my friends were just screaming about how we were just trying to deliver a pizza on this ride
it was fucking stupid but it was funny at the time
The Indiana Jones ride extends to the side a bit for the bug room, but yeah, they're pretty similar.
Indy kinda scared me once. I even got scared when the eyes on the face started to glow and flash as he talked.
It would be cool to see a side-by-side video comparison of Indy and Dinosaur to see which parts align similarly on the track.
I'll try to compare (Indiana Jones parts in parentheses for reference):
-Time warp (Hall of Promise)
-Slow portion (Gates of Doom)
-Autopilot to first carnotaur (Mummy chamber through beginning of bug room)
-Sauropod (Bridge: the track even dips there identical to Indiana Jones)
-Pteranodon cave (Snake temple)
-Charging carnotaur (Stall and rat cave)
-Third carnotaur to iguanodon (Dart hallway)
-Final time warp (Rolling boulder)
+AdrenalineAddict610 Thanks! I've never been on Dinosaur.
@@A_A610 Time rovers. (Jeeps.)
Time travel door. (Chamber of Destiny.)
Return to the present. (Indy with the Boulder.
fun fact i went on this ride on a school trip and had an anxiety induced seizure! good times.
Great video! What camera did you use?
Awesome!
The title of this video is litterly the definition of tea!!😂😂😂
Anyone else thinking of yelling "Oh c'mon! Leave us alone!" at the Carnotaurus when it shows up a third time, roaring at the top of its lungs?
You didn't turn the camera around. The Carnotaurus chases you! That's what makes it so awesome!
What point? I wanna see when i go!
Carnotaurus starts chasing the vehicle when you lose traction after passing the Compsognathus. Your vehicle switches to 4 wheel drive and escapes just as Carnotaurus begins to overtake you. It's a great (and chilling) effect.
When I was on that ride, I was like "Aladar, where are you!"
I said something similar. I said "Don't worry Aladar! Your fan is here to save you! You're safe now! I got you Aladar!"
Well that's easy for you to say
I remember when I was 6 going on this ride and tucking my head into my moms shoulder and crying so much that it was wet
映像が綺麗!
It’s like a mix off Jurassic park,space mountain,Indiana Jones,and Siri ;-;
I Like your description ^^
Reesey And Her Crazy Videos!! Pretty accurate
So, does Disney not care to maintain there attractions in animal kingdom? The yeti on Everest is broken and the first encounter with the carno on this ride is broken too?
First animatronic was temporarily down for refurbishment. It was put back in a few weeks ago.
As far as Everest, the design of the ride makes going in and repairing the figure and extremely intensive (and expensive). If it were to be fixed, it would be with a huge refurb akin to Space and Thunder Mountain at Disneyland (down for more than a year, extensive track replacement, et al).
It's not even worth fixing in its current spot. The train flies by so fast. would be better to place it where one could fix one's eyes on it for at least 2 seconds.
agreed, the spot where you go backwards, come to a stop, then fall through the mountain could be a better place to see the Yeti at its full animatronic splendor
+SoCal Attractions 360 That 4K Excellent Low Light was awesome! How did you do that?
It looks better in the video than in real life
I cried on this ride a few years ago 👍
Wow
Wat een coole achtbaan
Wow, I went to this attraction and in the end I covered my ears, there was only a bomb
I like the part at the beginning where if wobbles the car around lol
I don't remember the ride being this bright in person, is it the camera?
+ihatemadmoe No. The ride is not bright. It's our excellent camera that capture good footage in low light. If it wasn't for our camera, this video would be completely useless since you can't see anything in the dark even smartphone can't record this ride in the dark.
What camera do you guys use?
what kind of camera the footage is amazing!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
#bestrideevar
Wah. They extended the refurb on this ride so it won't be open till after we leave. Was hoping to ride this one this year.
I'm pretty sure this is literally the same ride as Indiana Jones but made with different designs. in the Indiana Jones one, the beginning is the same, the dino was made into a boulder going towards you, the dinosaurs were not there, the asteroid part was not there and others. either I'm correct or Disney made another version of this and made it into Indiana Jones.
it's the same track layout
Leilani Z. Its a very close track layout but not the same
It's the other way around, Indiana Jones Adventure was the original ride. So the correct way to say it: Disney made a Dinosaur version of the Indiana Jones ride. I'm just glad Disneyland has Indiana Jones and not this. It's way too epic over what was essentially a ride based on a flopped movie (Dinosaur).
I take it half of these dinosaurs are from The Universe of Energy ride at Epcot, huh?
Guernicaman no
Guernicaman no but it would be good to give em a home there when the universe of energy closes
This ride was built & finished before The Universe of Energy's close, so no
good idea for including more dinos, though

If it were up to me I would have rescued the sauropod which is a titanosaur called saltosaurus. It is,an armored sauropod from Argentina a country in south America.
the new one is 100% better in my opinion
bro its been hella long since ive been there
Who else was dead scared of this ride but remembered that Bill Nye USED to be in this
Lol that one guy "I freakin love this ride!" Lmao XD I wish I could ride it, but it would be too expensive to go to Florida :/ Disneyland is in a neighboring state so it doesn't cost as much.
Why do they allow it to be so quiet in there? You can hear all of the ride mechanics and hydraulics. Surely just some loud ride music would cover most of that up?!
Yeah, it's the same layout. :3
If you ever go on this ride and you are easily scared, DO NOT SIT ON THE LEFT.
Why not
Looks like the same track layout as Indiana Jones Adventure at Disneyland.
it is
The thumbnail looks like the dinosaur is reacting to the ride😂😂😂
I remember going on this ride and the dinosaur would pop out from the right side, so I sat on the second left. They changed the dinosaur to run at you on the left side. Soooo I think you can guess what happened. I was freaking out. I was 8 years old, a big old dinosaur running at you, it’s dark. Uhhhhh.. Edit: Also the ending. Um.
I love this ride. I really hope the current refurbishment doesn't destroy this ride.
mabye they might reactivate some things
The Gallifreyan Gamer I hope they make it like it was when it opened with the faster moving animatronics as well.
Anthony Ianitello YES that would be TOTALY amazing
She must be used to saying hey big daddy lol
Y’all know this is just a Jurassic park ride
I’ll probably ride this again when the virus is over probably in September
" my ears "lol
We need someone to make a Halo warthog ride like these
Every time I go on this ride I smell syrup. Am I the only one??
The track layout is the exact same as the Indiana Jones ride
hey big guy
omg the people on this ride are hilarious
Dino was really scary when I was little now nah it's no biggie
this ride was good but it felt like i was gona fall off
*Which is Better* ? ...
*Countdown to Extinction or Jurrasic Park River Adventure* ?
Why would they choose to travel back in time right before the asteroid hits?!
The scientist guy wanted to get Aladar (the Iguanadon) and he could only detect Aladar's presence in that stretch of time.
One of the only rides I’ve almost puked on!
The layout for this and Indiana Jones Adventure are the same. It's the themeing that's different.
no I see it too. the set up is similar
1:56 It, is time, to get really really serious
You know what if that will be nice if they can make Disney’s Dinosaurs 🦖 Ride at Disney California Adventures if they can change Soarin ride how about Dinosaurs 🦖 ride at Disney’s California adventures just like the one in Walt Disney World resort in Florida that you are showing me!
Too bad you didn't have image stabilization.
