  • [4K] Dinosaur Ride-through in Disney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Ride is very similar to Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland. Is it me? or is the Dinosaur ride track almost identical to Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland?
    Disney's Animal Kingdom is a must visit when one visits Walt Disney World. Why? There are a brand new land called Pandora that's based of Avatar with 2 new attractions that just opened this past May 2017.
    "Take off on a scary, prehistoric tour aboard a rip-roaring Time Rover to save a dinosaur from extinction." - Walt Disney World website

    One time while riding this during my ICP the narrators voice suddenly stopped working when we entered the cave and it didn't come back the rest of the ride. Nothing was more chilling than driving through the dark and hearing nothing but dinosaur growls and footsteps!

    • @Harrieta1337
      @Harrieta1337 6 лет назад +50

      IMO, they really dumbed down the ride. The ride movements used to be very aggressive (they still are somewhat) but it's not as jerky as it once was. Also, the first carnotauras encounter they moved the Carnotaur way back, it used to be above the vehicle now its 10 feet away, and you used to be able to hear it chasing you but I think they removed those sounds. They really toned it down for kids but it's still great as it will ever be.

    • @TesIaEvents2023

    • @TesIaEvents2023

      This list is the ride experience from the time it was Changed to DINOSAUR from Countdown to Extinction so this is the changes from DINOSAUR from 2000 to 2016:
      #1 The large door at the start of the ride was originally closed and has the EMV revved up then the door opened, now, it simply always remains opened and the lighting is brighter to show you the path, thus ruining the exclusive time-travel effect.
      #2 In the following room that looks like a giant toaster oven there were different sound effects and most of them were played at very high volume and once you saw the strobes and headed out, there was always a very loud " CLACK!!!! " to signify your entrance into the past, this is now gone.
      #3 When you see Hadrosaur you could hear it moan and once you see the first raptor growling at you and Dr. Seeker says " NOW! " originally there was a meteor that hit the tree in front of you with a loud explosion to signify impact, this and the sound effects of the Hadrosaur, are gone.
      #4 When the EMV gets stuck and the Carnotaurus is getting ready to chase you, the sound effects of the tires screeching frantically as you try to get traction to leave is gone.
      #5 The sounds of the Carnotaurus are slightly altered and toned down as you are chased in the dark.
      #6 The Pterodactyl and Compsognathus were static but illuminated by spotlights as you drove under them. Although they were static, they still had sound effects and were practical. The Compies now are animated on two separate screens and look completely fake and are poorly animated and pale in comparison to the rides various animatronics.
      #7 When you have the up-close encounter with the Carnotaurus, he is standing up and then proceeds to lean down to roar at you and you were also blasted with air-cannons and the volume was much louder, now, he is statically leaned over with no air-cannons and lower volume.
      #8 The laser-net that captures the Iguanadon was not used and has been missing since the rides original years from 1998 - 2000 but is now back.
      #9 When you approach the final encounter with Carnotaurus you take a right turn in near pitch-black darkness with nothing but the ceiling illuminated and you dip down on the final drop and go under the Carnotaurus with loud sparking sound effects and huge ' BAM!!!! " as you re-enter the facility, now, the bottom of the drop is laser-lit with a dark teal laser-light aiming at the bottom of the drop to indicate the length and as you go down and under there is a new star-field that was never present and the sound effects are altered and not as loud and no big ' bang ' as you re-enter the facility.
      #10 Finally, the ride was given a new lighting scheme and many of the dino's repainted.
      So there is my list of changes, I hope you guys enjoyed! I really wish the ride was still like this.

    When I went on this ride for the first time I knew what to expect so I wanted to sit in the middle to not be as close to the dinosaurs. My friend was like, “What’s wrong with sitting on the edge? I’ll just sit on the edge and show you.” Then as soon as he sees the first animatronic he looks at me and says in a worried voice, “I can see why you didn’t want to sit near the edge now.....”

    • @derekhauk11
      @derekhauk11 7 лет назад +6

      rct3isepic Semantics. Obviously they changed the theming and design of the outer shell of the vehicle, but the tech and track layout were already in place, the EMV ride vehicle itself is the same.

    • @rct3isepic
      @rct3isepic 7 лет назад +1

      Derek Hauk yes. But a lot of people think the shells are identical. To the point where Disney themselves released a pack of ride vehicle die cast with a repainted time rover calling it the Indiana Jones vehicle. It's kind of frustrating because I have wanted a model of the Indy vehicles for years but nobody makes them for sale.

    As a paleontologist I appreciate them including lesser known dinosaurs like Alioramus, Styracosaurus, and Carnotaurus, but "hadrosaur" isn't a species, it's a family of hundreds of types of animals, and "sauropod" is such a big group I don't even know what they want it to mean other than "long neck."

    The giant Carnotaurus at the end is still my favorite part of any ride I’ve ever been on!

  • @hebablo
    @hebablo 6 лет назад +82

    Great updates but there are still 3 problems I have with the ride. 1. The metal silver door has been removed and no longer opens. Seeing the past already ahead of you ruins the effect. 2. The pterodactyl still doesn’t swoop down and that is a shame. 3. The Last carnator used to stand upright and come down at you, now it seems to have bad back pain and is permanently hunching over. Hope they fix the last few remaining problems and make this ride perfect.

    • @Harrieta1337
      @Harrieta1337 6 лет назад +15

      Sadly, they toned it down to not scare kids as much. The first Carnotaur encounter he used to be right in your face but now he's moved back 10 feet. Also, you would be able to hear the Carnotaur chasing you when during evasive maneuvers, but they removed those sounds as well.

    • @Harrieta1337
      @Harrieta1337 6 лет назад +4

      redjaredits Yes, that’s why they toned it down. Because they didn’t want to deal with parents complaining about it frightening children. It’s still pretty scary, but not as scary as it once was

    • @willausterman3104
      @willausterman3104 6 лет назад +6

      1. The jungle isn't visible in person, that's the good low light function of the camera.
      2. The pteranodon effect kept breaking and wasn't worth the constant downtime to fix such a small effect.
      3. I just rode the ride recently and I swear that last Carnotaurus still moved. Maybe I was too distracted or maybe 1. It wasn't working when this video was shot or 2. The camera angle made it look stationary.

    As a 7 year old, this was the scariest ride I had ever been on. Having no concept of what an animatroni c was, coupled with the dark scenery and extremely loud jungle ambiance, I spent my time on this ride with my head tucked into my shirt like a turtle. Upon rewatch, this is definitely what developed my irrational submechanophobia/megalophobia. The whole video gave me chills from head to toe.

    Time travelers: place all loose items in the pouch in front of you, fasten your seatbelt, and remain seated with your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the Time Rover. And please watch children.
    (Spanish Safety Spiel)
    Time travel commencing in T minus 10 seconds and counting.
    This is Seeker. Listen up: we’ve gotta get in, grab the iguanodon, and get out before that asteroid hits. Let’s roll!
    Okay. Now, let’s go get that dino. Computer, what’re you tracking?
    Styracosaurus.
    Not our dino.
    Warning. Meteor shower in range.
    Just little ones.
    Alioramus.
    Hadrosaur.
    Raptor.
    Time to get serious. Locking autopilot on homing signal-now! Hang on! I’m tracking a big dino on the scope. Could be ours. Computer: full stop. Identify.
    Carnotaurus.
    Definitely not our dino. Go! Go! Go! Another big guy comin’ up. Computer, slow and identify.
    Sauropod.
    Still not our dino, but at least this one’s a vegetarian…]
    Asteroid impact in 90 seconds.
    We’d better move it.
    Pterodactyl.
    Incoming!
    Asteroid impact in 60 seconds.
    We can’t stop now. Keep going, keep going!
    Compsognathus.
    Computer, what’s happening?
    Loss of traction.
    Four-wheel drive! Move it!
    Warning. Meteor strike!
    Evasive maneuver! Right! Left! Right! Left! That was close.
    Computer, now what?
    Carnotaurus.
    That’s it. Abort mission. Abort! Abort!
    Iguanodon.
    Forget it! Get them out now
    Asteroid impact.
    Brace yourselves! This is it! They’re not gonna make it! They’re not gonna make it!
    Mission accomplished.
    You made it! I knew you would. And guess who made it back with you?
    I better find him before security does. Thanks for everything!Please gather personal belongings from the pouch in front of you, and remain seated until the Rover comes to a complete stop.

    I know this ride gets a bad rap from a lot of people but it's been one of my favorites since Animal Kingdom first opened. I always really liked the part where you have to go into 4 wheel drive to get away from the carnotaurus. If you listen, you can hear the thump of his footsteps as he's chasing you to the next area where you stop and they snap a photo of everyone making a dumb face.
