been searching for a simple tutorial on how to do this simple thing. 10 min vids, 15 min vids, 60000 char long posts... dude solved my problem in 1 minute
I mean, some shaders are complex. A specular shader for simulating shine on anime hair takes like 12 nodes and that isn't even all that crazy. Better to focus on the process than skipping through details for the sake of pure speed.
Thank you so much for all these tutorials man, I've spent so many times watching these tutorials and can't wait to start actually using the stuff I've learned!
This almost works for me..Whenever I turn the Roughness down, in rendered mode it makes the cube look dark and doesn't react to light. If I turn roughness up, it makes the cubes colors stand out and it looks almost iridescent, just no reflection. I followed everything exactly, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...I'll try and fix it though! EDIT: I fixed it by unchecking scene lights and scene world
Super cool, thanks. Wanted to ask one favor for node setup (and I hate to even ask since you're sharing all this great info for free), but if possible, it would be great to at some point in video, show full node setup all at once (when setup is simple enough). I like to screen cap them and be able to refer back later when needed. thanks
You can also just set the layer weight node into the hue input of the hue saturation node. The colour will then set the starting colour (+ saturation ect.), and the factor will set how wide the hue shift is.
Amazing, started following you the other day and all these quick tutorials have been awesome! i was actually wondering if you could point me in a direction of how to create that seamless backdrop youve got going there. thanks!
Just an assumption but I assume the "facing" from the layer weight node does the work and makes the colorramp add random colors depending on which way the face is facing
Thank you so much for this, as a Blender newbie I'm learning so much. I have one question though, when you want to export is as an OBJ, how do export it with the material attached? My exported file looks grey, I think it's due to the viewport display color, but I'm not sure, any help would be appreciated!
I am also wondering the same. I need my garment to be imported in Clo3d from Blender. And it needs to be same color and iridescent effect when i import in Clo3d. Any suggestions would help Thanks already!
Cool tutorial. I liked the turn table you made, i tried my self using driver, but something went wrong, it rotates back and forth. If you don't mind, could you show us how you set it up. Thanks
No shameless plugins no shoutouts no intro. To the point tutorial that ends in 1 and a half minute. You sir have my respect.
This also works to make a thermal imaging effect, if you set the color ramp to go from red to blue and change the shader from principled to emission
I really appreciate the way you zoom in on how you’re setting up the nodes. Thanks!

The best thing about these tutorials is they’re short. Hate long ass 20 min tutorials

It’s a cube, I deleted all the faces except the bottom one and the back one, then I put a bevel modifier on it
@@TheDucky3D love it, thanks
Thank you ducky, very cool
can conform that in 2023, THIS STILL WORKS
Please can this same technique be used to make a (black and white) negative shader

amazing stuff thanks
Thank yuo good sir!
awesome tyty
I wish you what go a little more into *why* it works instead of only what needs to be done in what order.
Fabsenet I’m not super knowledgeable into the science of blender. I just play around and make cool stuff. I teach visually

thank you so much! for some reason my material turns black when applying this, what could it be?
Whaaat it was that easy

Thanks for the tutorial - this is great. Is it possible to make the material kind of transparent as well as iridescent?
Thank You!!!
Thank you!
