@@alaslipknot Yeah, it's a really powerful technique. Adds subtle jitter to anything organic. Cranked up, it reminds me of oil paintings, fingerprints, liquid surfaces... Afaiu it's exactly what the _Distortion_ slider on some nodes does - but by manually adding (spatially correlated) noise to vector coordinates you can distort any texture.
Related: You can quantize/pixelate textures by using the Voronoi's _Location_ output. That "snaps" the input vector to the nearest cell's center. (Set random to 0 to make the cells square.)
We are so spoiled with all this incredible free information provided by you and other amazing Blender RUclips artists. Thank you so much I can’t express how grateful I am for people like you sharing your knowledge!!! It’s also incredible that we all have free access to a software as powerful as Blender. I hope this never goes away!
This is exactly why I watch tutorials like this: I know my way around in blender and its nodesystem, but I would have never guessed that you can literally use mapping information in a mix RGB node. It makes sense if you think about it, but I never came up with this idea😅 That trick to get some detail into the cracks is awesome 👌👌 Thanks for the tutorial!
For those who are sad because of the final of it; check the Ambient Occlusion under the Render Settings, this will make the cracks more dark (you can't do it with bump node as Ducky did, because his AO is already opened) Ducky doesn't tell this. But! Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial man! I love your channel, great works!
me seeing a random model render like this and be like "omg whoever did this is a great 3d sculpting artist" Ducky3D: "now we're gonna go to the shading tab"
If u knew how much concrete ive had to bodge together with dodgy maps etc...... boss level tutorial, great explanatory style, and teaching, highly appreciated mate.
I so badly wanted to make cracked asphalt and I tried so much stuff, but thanks to you so much , I now know how to make the noise affect the edges of voronoi or basically any texture , I was tryna plug in the factor of a mix having the noise and voronoi plugged! Thanks alot Sir!
I recently joined your patreon because it really caught my attention this tutorial, please keep making shader tutorials, you are making it easy to learn! I did couple of good materials thanks to your tutorial in just a few minutes, thank you!
Love watching rewatching, attempting, then rewatching these tutorials. Your channel has come such a long way in terms of presentation and production value. Ducky 4 Blender Pres!
Thank you!!! Very easy to follow and you explain everything in a reasonable time. Not too short like a 1 min video and not too long like 30 mins of random unrelated stuff.
I'm new to blender, these tutorials are so awesome and inspiring. Something like this went over my head but with all your amazing content I'm sure I'll get there soon!
I've watched many of your videos for blender, and you always explain them excellent! Good job I couldnt of learned blender without this channel. Im still learning modeling as well and still find new things!
Simply a fu***ng Monster! I bow before your skill. T I've been following you for a while, and when you post videos on procedural materials you're a bomb! Please continue to publish them🙏🙏🙏
Wow this is a really great tutorial Ducky! Its insane how complicated all this seems and how many nodes you need for one texture.. Thanks for teaching us, it's pretty overwhelming
:O) not in 100 years I would think of how to create that. The only thing I altered is a little roughness glossiness. Concrete is mostly a little glossy in the plain parts. But- really great.
for the ones that can't seen crackle, go to the third option of the Voronoi Texture, it's "closest" by default, set it to the last option in the drop down that's "crackle".
Good tutorial!! I found that you can plug a noise texture and a colorramp into the strength of the 2nd bump node (the one ouputting into another bump node) and make the cracks less evenly dispersed.
Pretty interesting, Concrete can be little bit more rough sometimes, but it depends on the finish and the mix, very interesting work , thanks for sharing
Really cool techniques to get the quality final result, with plenty of scope to create many abstract and interesting variations along the way! Smart 🌠👌💯👀😎💡
I need to make a cracking floor model for my new music video, identical to Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" Music video at 2:26. Is this something you'd maybe be interested in helping with!???
Amazing. Best node videos on the interwebs. I hate to beat a dead horse, but could you provide a screen shot of your node layout at the end of the video?
great versatile set up. I guess you could make a bunch of materials with just a few value & colour tweaks. Tarmac, stone, dried mud, gingerbread...probably.
Thanks, Nathan, this was exactly what I was looking for here on YouTub! Very well explained, I subbed. I hope you are planning more procedural shading tutorials like this. 😀
I've learned a lot about designing materials from you, and I'm still learning.
JM Bell sweet
Same
Came for how to do the cracks (4:57), but then I also learned something about mixing noises in the part before.
Thanks for making these!
i know right! it never occured to me to put anything between the Texture coordinate and the Mapping nodes

This entire video changed basically how I'm going to look at texture nodes. Fantastic work. Very informative.

Voronoi texture node seams the secrete sauce of the Ducky materials! :) Well done again! :)
yo ducky went and hearted all comments legendary!
except for yours

I've looked at this tutorial for several different materials I've been messing around with. Thank you!
Just want to leave a comment to feed the RUclips algorithm and give your content the attention it deserves!
Your tutorials are so good! Simple yet effective. I've learned so much from you.

wow you went through this topic like a hot knife through butter... well done 😎🤓
This was a great tutorial. perhaps the best one on the subject. Thank you!
Woah, super cool. I love the trick of the noise texture right in between the Texture coordinate and the mapping to control voronoi. Veeeery powerful.
Great as always
Where's that Tick ✅ Daniel, you need one

click crtl+shift and drag on nodes to add mix rgb with the nodes

Gotta love the procedural shading tuts.
this channel is just what I'm looking for, thank you so much!
Subscribed on seeing the thumbnail.
Very impressive! I always think the material can't get any better and then you add another node. Thank you for sharing, I subscribed immediately
I am from the future 2022, this still works, thanks a lot!
Bloody amazing my dude! Needed this for some client work, just in time thank you!
This was really well paced
Damn I’ve been lookin everywhere for a cement material and my wish has been granted.

Great tutorial but I am messing/ missing up somewhere at the end
...could you please post the Node set up for checking values?

Great tutorial! Thanks a lot
thank you so much , the result was satisfying
Great tutorial. Learning a lot and more to practice. Thanks
why did you added 2nd bump node to the normal of first bump node ?
I really loved thisss, such a great tutorialll. Very satisfying, convincing and high quality :))
