    The new Trax is a very important vehicle. Its nice to see a major manufacturer put out an affordable, enjoyable and nice looking ICE car in this day and age. Working folks and commuters need cars like this and I wish more would concentrate on vehicles like this. Consumers want a more SUV/Crossover styled car and a cheaper new car with a warranty. The Trax fits the bill. Plus you can get it service in most towns in the country.

      I agree 100%! The way prices of everything are skyrocketing, it’s good to know you can still get a quality SUV for less than 30k.
      I was at the Lexus service center yesterday for my 84 year old mom. She has an 11-year-old Lexus with 53,000 miles that she babies, and it still runs like a dream. I took a look at the new Lexus autos. Wow. I will probably not be able to afford one until I’m in my 70s as well. If I’m lucky! 😊

      @@virchewal I have not taken it on any "trails" as I don't really do that. It is not 4-wheel drive or AWD and it doesn't come with those options. I have taken it on many road trips with both interstate and 2-lane highways and it's a great car for that. Decent gas mileage, lots of options and comfortable ride. Bought it in December and it already has 14K miles on it.

    I just bought the activ in Black a week ago, I have a little over 600 miles.
    I've spent the last two days going over the infotainment center learning how it functions.
    I think I've got it down.
    Got in the car today, realize there's a button on the side of the shifter, at your thumb.
    It's a manual shift button.
    Of all the reviews I watch nobody's mentioned this.
    Took me a week to discover it.
    The button function Is describes it in the owner's manual.
    I love this vehicle! Nice ride, really good city mpg, looks great.

    • @juqebaux3912
      @juqebaux3912 9 месяцев назад

      It would have been great if they made it with a manual mode (where you can upshift and downshift the knob) instead of buttons. On my 2013 Cruze it had it and honestly it was a treat to use it.

    • @Red4banger
      @Red4banger 9 месяцев назад

      @@juqebaux3912 Even better would be steering wheel paddle shift.
      Don't know how much more it would have cost to move it from the shift lever to the steering wheel. GM kind of half-baked this one, I guess better on the shift knob than not at all!
      I really like my black activ, awesome car, every option except for sunroof cordless phone charger. With a $1600 dollar GM retiree discount $26008 tax, title, plates.
      Didn't buy the extended warranty, or gap insurance, dealers really push this hard. New cars come from the factory with warranty don't bye, it's a waste of money!

    It's a GREAT car!!! What are you taking about? I'm pretty happy with my Trax, runs great and it's fast, faster than what you say, if you want a car that goes to 60 mph in 3 seconds, buy a mustang but be ready to get a ticket, pretty useless, the acceleration on the Trax is just PERFECT. The ENGINE IS NOT that noisy, well, if you drive a very luxurious car it's probably not as quiet, but no it's not that bad as you say, you are exaggerating! The restarting at a traffic light is perfect also, just as good or even better than a Mercedes, real fast!!! Great car, I bought the 2024 and plan to buy the 2026.

Also would’ve liked another hidden front pocket in the front kinda like a sunglasses case like in the Chevy impala. Please someone correct me about the gas tank closure, I’m annoyed about that. @ILYxIW 10 месяцев назад +13

      I can tell you as a GM master tech that works for the dealers, I don’t really see any issues with them compared to other vehicles we offer it seems above average in reliability. The 1.2l has been out for around 5 years now and hasn’t show any major flaws imo. The 6speed transmission it comes with is a huge plus as the 1.2l trailer blazers had a CVT which has seen some failures, but the 6speed should be bulletproof in comparison. Will it go 250k+ miles? I guess time will tell but for the initial 100k+ miles it’s been showing some promise. I would absolutely stay on top of oil changes religiously with an engine like this though! Maintenance is everything for longevity

    The 2024 Trax is a compelling value for the segment. It looks great. It's spacious for its size. It has decent performance and economy. The real caveat is predicted long-term reliability combined with a short warranty. That's a major area of concern given GM Korea's reliability track record in general, including the prior generation Trax. This inexpensive vehicle might end up costing a lot more long-term than some of its more expensive competition. It should be noted that the 2024 Trax has direct injection and a timing belt instead of a timing chain. Both areas may require additional maintenance costs over competitors that have multiport injection or dual injection and a timing chain.

    For the price bracket, this is the best car you can buy. There aren't too many decent looking brand new vehicles you can for around $20,000 any more. Most "decent" looking entry level vehicles with some options start at $30,000 these days. About 25 or 30 years ago, $30,000 could get you a brand new 3 series BMW.

      from what I read online, GM said the majority of buyers(roughly 70%) didn't want the AWD option.I told my sales guy that and he seemed a bit mystified. But still, make it where the driver can turn it off or on. But then I'm guessing they'd have to bump up the horsepower like the Trailblazer which has the awd. But again, once you add that feature the price naturally goes up.

      Now, as I've mentioned, this is a beautiful looking vehicle. In all honesty.I have not yet seen this vehicle in snow. I can only hope, as a front wheel drive suv, it is, in fact, much much lighter than some of the competitors. Perhaps this will be a brilliant vehicle to own in a winter environment.

      Why would they need to hydrid anything when they’re the only manufacturer offering a wide range of fully electric vehicles?

    • @BTC909
      @BTC909 10 месяцев назад

      CAFE requirements. Lower price. Smaller engine displacement. Hybrids sell quickly. PHEV's are the least reliable of ICE, EV, & PHEV. Wide range? The Bolt EV & EUV are cancelled. Get one before they are gone until it comes back in 202x. The Blazer EV is still under a stop sale order. Good luck finding a Hummer or Silverado EV. Lyriq is really your only option. Ultium is a mess.

      @dragoon666 10 месяцев назад +2

      I rather have a belt then a chain. With a belt if and when it breaks you just replace the belt, with a chain if that prematurely goes you need to replace the entire engine, and most not all vehicle makers are going back to belt.

      @@dragoon666 It's a wet belt, It is a belt that runs through the oil. Look up Fords wet belt 1l 3cyl nothing but problems the belt degrades and travels into the oil pickup bye bye engine. Also this is a interference engine if the belt was to break also bye bye engine the valves and pistons meet each other in a bad way.

    • @bokdcutie
      @bokdcutie 10 месяцев назад

      Chains stretch overtime and makes the engine out of time. The belt may contaminate the engine oil but so does the chain. Metal fragments are more destructive than the belt and oil filter catches it.

    What I don't understand is the fact that the 2022 models and older were the PERFECT crossover, compact size - but now the redesign makes it huge and long. This thing, though still lower to the ground, is no longer compact in my head. Companies just keep building them bigger and bigger and I just don't think you can call this thing compact, it really isn't compact at all. Barely fits in a 2-car standard garage length-wise. I do not get it! like hello? younger/middle-aged people with no kids do not want huge cars. We want something actually compact, but big enough to tote crap around, travel, not have terrible mileage and not have to origami/squat ourselves to get in and out like we would in a sedan model and be able to park easily. We don't want a full-blown SUV which is where this thing is heading for real! You took away my Chevy Spark, so Trax was the next best thing for us until you made them bigger for no reason.

    137-hp turbocharged 1.2-liter inline-three cylinder engine , six-speed automatic over the continuously variable transmissions (CVTs)You don’t have to consider the motorcycle engine with a turbine any further. Have you been thinking about it for a long time? How long will this motor last? A year, two? This is not a Mercedes, where the engine traveled one million kilometers before the first major overhaul. They began to do everything one-time for a short period of time. And the transmission Was it really impossible to install steptronic? The transmission in general with such an engine will die at 80,000 km. Thank you, I’m not rich enough to buy such a miracle for one year. Better classic -Toyota or Honda. These cars will serve faithfully for at least 10 years. Stillborn child. We have forgotten how to make reliable and economical cars.
