Got a buick as a loaner as my 80k+ MSRP HD truck is having warranty work and am pleasantly surprised. Engine/transmission is smooth, handles corners well and feels agile to steer, tracks straight down highway, absorbs bumps well, feels quick (enough), and I got almost 40 MPG on a highway trip. Good backseat space with no floor hump... fits 3 childseats using seatbelts. Decent trunk space. Immediately noticed that sound system isn't the best, but afterr some tinkering with settings, it's decent (B- in my mind...usable). Looks nice and seems built well and things feel solid/simple. Price only 28k... for a cheaper Trax, this is really hard to beat...really good car for 25k...maybe even at 30k.
I was really struggling to find faults... no AWD (who cares unless you're in snow states....all AWD systems in most cars/suvs are 95% FWD anyway), no towing (not good idea with small SUV and most ppl don't do that), and not a huge road family road trip car (most ppl only go on vacation with kids 1-2 times per year). It's made in korea, but seems built better than american cars.
If anyone is in the market for a car, I'd give this one a hard look. Unbelievable value and it will make you question why spend 45k+ for something else when a 25k car is this good.

None of the other reviews mentioned rear visibility out of the back of either of these choices. This feature is very important to me and I thank you for mentioning it before I have to run to the dealerships to find out for myself. That approach just isn't convenient for me. Again, thanks!

I’m semi retired and have worked part time at a jeep dealer for 7 years.A compass with the same equipment as my envista is 34k.My envista was under 26k. I know the Jeep has awd but For 8000 more I don’t need it.

Good comparison but what about powertrain longevity? 1.2 turbo with a timing belt concerns me & only 5 year 100000 kilometer powertrain warranty.

Bought a Chevy trax 1RS it’s beautiful from the outside and the nice 18 wheels but the down side of it has a physical key 🔑 to turn the car on the infotainment system screen is very small and it has a analog cluster 😂 I regret getting this trim model and now I’m looking to trade it in sometime later on the road for the Buick envista hopefully the 2026 is announced and they can update the infotainment screen like their siblings the envision and enclave full screen mode

At the 16:26 mark you comment about the d-shaped steering wheel of the Buick, but the video shows the d-shaped steering wheel of the Chevy. Personally I am not a fan of the d-shaped steering wheel at all.

I looking to downsize to a crossover subcompact for ease of city parking to replace a 9yr old Camry LE. Comparing these to Honda HRV, Mazda CX-30, Toyota CorollaCross. Agree with post that the Encore GX FWD 1.2L CVT should have been included in comparo. Going to wait to see what Buick & Chevy changes for 2025 models. Hoping they add rear wiper and offer 1.3L 3cy turbo with same 6sp-Auto on Envista. Looks like from online articles on GM/Chev/Buick-Korea 1.3L available inTrailblazer, EncoreGX have a timing-chain vs 1.2L's timing-belt. Sharp vehicles all three.

Neither the Trax or Envista have AWD. You’d have to step up to the Trail Blazer or the Encore GX if you want AWD.

Like you guys but do you suggest to buy an Envista for the sole purpose of having the Watts suspension. You spent 1/4 of the review on the subject. So what to do?

The DRL’s for all Buicks just seem so high and disjointed. Would like to see it integrated with the grill more for a more sophisticated face.

Normal transmission are quite nice compared to a belt driven CVT.
1.2 turbo charged engines are not very nice regardless of what they hooked up to.

Not sure why there’s a need to compare. The Envista beats the Trax on everything except on pricing (Trax is cheaper) and cargo space (Trax has more).
