No one truly knows the extent of impact one single song can have on someone except the one it impacted. This song came out at a time that I definitely needed to not just hear it but to completely take in the truth of the lyrics. God knew that my favorite band had to speak to me because at that time they were just about the only voice I was hearing. I stopped listening to the voices of reason for quite some time. I was contemplating suicide at the time for the first time as a sober man. This band with this song and a little help from Control which came out before this held out their hand and brought me down from the ledge I'd been flirting with. They probably saved my life and most definitely saved my 1 and a half years of sobriety. Today I am over 3 years sober with a new outlook on life and I owe a great deal of that to Mike Donehey and Tenth Avenue North... but as they well know the full credit goes to God. He chose them to be a very necessary and integral part of my journey. My beacon in troubled waters.
I've fallen in love with the music from Tenth Avenue North during the past few months. I was saddened to hear that they will be ending their ministry after this next tour. With the exception of a few other Christian bands, there isn't much else out there that mixes worship and ministry in every song played. These men were truly blessed by the Spirit of God. Thank you so much for your dedication to reaching out to the lost through music.
I feel the same way about Tenth Ave. North. I have NO IDEA why would they want to do anything other than worship God? What greater job in the entire universe? I just don't get it? But I love them whether they choose to stay or leave either way. Their music is so soothing to me.
