Hi Simon, Piribebuy is "my valley" too... lovely city, the countryside is pastoral and picturesque, you have history, folcklore, music, crafts, and the friendliest people you'll find anywhere.
Dear Simon, Thank you for sharing with us your beautiful slice of God's green earth! I can't imagine a scene more lovely or peaceful. Greetings from the piney woods of Georgia USA! Peter
@@mariapazgonzalezlesme thabk you. It is always pleasing to hear rhat someone enjoys my channel and my words. Others have said I have a narrator voice. Just need to find someone who wants to pay me for it 😁😁
Tienes que ver la vista aérea de Asunción, la capital paraguaya. A pesar de ser una zona urbana, está plagado de árboles. Pero las ciudades del interior son mis favoritas!!!
@@concernedcanadian8460 Yes a heavy clay that turns to mud in heavy rain. Most days great on a bike and have learnt to let the water soak away before heading out after rain
Thank you for sharing the beautiful nature on your door step Simon. I have a question: can you walk right into the countryside? Are there footpaths like in England, or is it more like in Scotland where one is allowed to walk almost anywhere as long as it doesn't disturb someone's privacy? Thank you.
Yes and no. Out in the countryside up into the hills, no problems but where there are houses all land tends to be owned by someone. Often footpaths cross peoples land and if they pass within sight of a house it is polite to ask permission first. Almost always given but if it is a known tourist sight they may well ask for a small payment
There has been a fair bit of work on the infrastructure so the electric is pretty good. These days tends to be if there are high winds during a storm and a cable comes down somewhere. Normally back on in an hour or two
@ I had directvexperience of that, every day last year many times in a row, and many times for a half day or even longer. In village next to Piribebuy. Also water problems there, but we had a well, fortunately. The best chipa is in Paraguari, though! 😉👍👋🏻
@@garygranato9164 Hi, for me personally no, because I have no standing water near my house, but they are in general pretty common and things that just have to be lived with
Do you have a backup power generator, in case the electricity goes down? I know it is terribly hot and humid in the summer there, and you must need AC.
@@AnnetteSimone I have bought seeds in many times and never had a problem. I have books, 20 years old but these things don't generally change, which make no mention of any restrictions
Hi Simon I'm about to retire next year and my youngest still has one year of college anyway, but Paraguay is definitely where I want to be for my retirement. I don't have much to invest but I was looking for someone that can help me find couple hectares so I can grow my own stuff if possible. Is there any way you can give me your WhatsApp number so I can get in touch with you once I'm there I'll appreciate it

How are those dirt roads on your little motorcycle, especially when it rains? I'm imagining it gets pretty slippery. Is that clay soil?

It's just the electricity goes out every day in the rainy season, because the infrastructure is so old there's always a problem to fix. Be prepared!
