Innovative way to transcribe the convex shape, but it is not practical without a small (but important) tweak...
If you do not allow about an eighth of an inch margin around the perimeter of any flooring (tile, wood, laminate, etc), then as the humidity fluctuates, that pretty inset cut may buckle - along with the rest of the floor. What you should do is take a jamb saw and cut the bottom of the mouldings (where the baseboard meet the floor) a sixteenth of an inch higher than the height of the flooring that will be installed; then, use the trick this video demonstrates to cut your flooring to the convex outline of the corner; once that is done, trim about an eight of an inch off the perimeter of that flooring section, and slide under the moulding.
Note: if the area in question does not allow for an easy placement of the flooring (since it will be slightly wider than the room with the baseboards attached), remove the baseboards, lay the flooring, and then reattach the baseboards.

Make sure you use a big fat permanent marker for all your detail work. Also, try to mark your ruler just in the general area where you think it should be, then swipe a nice fat blob of ink somewhere in that general area. Ambiguity is the key to great detail work.

@@lesliesweeney368 quite often I'll be working on an existing home with the trim already installed, so the easiest way is to undercut the door jam and trim, and then slide the flooring underneath of that. This process is critical to keep vinyl flooring from curling up

This is really overkill but using markers is perfectly fine since they wash away in seconds with some denatured alcohol
You could do the first one without a ruler 😂 just a straight edge to match the edges, no measurements are needed

Отстой. Вырезать угол "елочкой" на кусочке линолиума это круто. Ты сделай такое на куске 4*6 метров.

Also I bet you spend more time and money at Lowes buying markers and rulers than you actually do on a job site, or you're the boss of your company and you're trying to impress the new 18 year old guy straight outta high school working his first real job. Now go caulk that vynil down make sure its pretty you know take 20 mins doing it and give us a thumbs up when it's done.
