    Bret the hitman hart figure wcw looks like Howard stern

    Despite being a huge fan of the WWF, I actually felt that the WCW figures- especially the Smash and Slam series- were much better, primarily because they included the action figure and something extra. I had the DDP figure, and he came with a barricade, while Goldberg came with a rubber cheap version of "Masked Wrestler" (who looked a lot like Rey Mysterio) and had a replica of the WCW Championship.
    The one I wanted the most, though, was the Scott Hall one- he had the table and the Sting mask. That was great!

    • @Autobot_Megatron
      @Autobot_Megatron 8 лет назад +1

      For me personally, I loved the WCW figures because the extras that some of the figures came with were either ringside collectables or just nice little extras to have (though later on they started getting a bit crazy- I remember the WCW Chris Jericho figure that came with a lion and a stool; or Bret Hart being dressed as an actual Hitman lol). I remember thinking that if I wanted to have a referee action figure, I had to have the Kevin Nash figure (I think he came with a referee lol). The WWF figures- again, I loved and had a bunch of them too, but as you said some of the extras they had were a bit wacky for my liking- like, what was I going to do with a dirty toilet at ringside? lol =)
      My only other gripe with the WWF figures of the late 90's was that they had prefixed limbs- so performing some moves/poses (like the Stunner, for instance) required you to hold onto the figure's arm over the head of his opposing doll just so the stunner looked right lol. Another thing I like doing was figures as if he were about to pull of his finishing move, which I kinda found a bit difficult to do with some of the WWF figures.
      And damnit, they NEVER got The Rock right lmao; I felt the only figure that kinda look accurate was X-Pac- and that was because he was wearing sunglasses lmao =) Austin looked decent, but he always kinda looked a bit off- at least to me.
      Either way, having a mixture of WWF and WCW action figures was a total dream. I loved having WCW vs. WWF matches- and buying a new action figure kinda felt like having a wrestler singing over to join your company hahaha! Man, we definitely had it great back then! =)

      +TheJ024 I had/have 2 Scott Hall figures and loved that he came with not only the Sting mask, but a breakable nWo table! I also had the "Hollywood" version of Hollywood Hogan and he came with a directors chair and a movie camera! Also, Buff Bagwell came with a wheelchair lol! Still have all of the figures but can't find the damn accessories... 😔

    • @Autobot_Megatron
      @Autobot_Megatron 8 лет назад

      ***** lol, how I envy you =p I could NEVER get my hands on that Scott Hall figure back in the day- he always seemed to be "Souled Out" ;)
      I was fortunate enough to get my hands on the standard Hollywood Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage one- I needed the steel chair and stairs ahaha! Sting was another favourite of mine too- I loved how he came with the leather jacket and baseball bat. And man, I had countless hours reenacting that Bret Hart/Sting match for Halloween Havoc (though I loved Sting, Bret Hart was always my childhood favourite, so he often won those matches lmao). Meanwhile over on the WWF side, I never got my hands on that Triple H figure that came with that super soaker water cannon like gun...:)

    • @NikateeN
      @NikateeN  8 лет назад

      +TheJ024 man I forgot that sting came with the jacket. That thing was hard as hell to get on! Had to turn his arms all the way backwards and squeeze them in to get it on. I always thought I was going to break him. I had almost the entire Wolfpac but never had a Konnan... Not even sure if they made a Wolfpac Konnan I could never seem to find him. I had almost all nWo guys and very little WCW guys so I usually just made up my own nWo invasion to the WWF story since I had a ton of WWF toys.

    • @Autobot_Megatron
      @Autobot_Megatron 8 лет назад

      ***** LOL, I actually ripped the sleeves of that jacket because I tried to put it on my Bret Hart figure hahaha! I didn't take into consideration that the Bret Hart figure was a bit bigger than the Sting one and that the jacket was only meant to be for the Sting figure- but I was too stubborn because my Bret Hart figure needed a leather jacket!
      Looking back on it, I wish I collected the Ring Fighters figures, just so I could have a miniature ring to compliment the WCW ring I had; but at that time, the only one I wanted of the four was Bret. Speaking of which, do you remember the Slam and Crunch figures that WCW would later release? I bought the Sting one because he came with the dumpster, so I thought I could have dumpster matches...imagine my disappointment when I realised how wrong I was lol

  • @HandlebarOrionX
    @HandlebarOrionX 3 года назад +3

    I miss ToyBiz. Their TNA toys were some of the best of all time except the 6 sided rings with no weapon compartments, no bounce gimmick and the posts were like hell to pop in. Not to mentions their figure belts for both WCW and TNA were so much better than the Jakks WWF/E ones in that they were more detailed and easier to put on

  • @javis88h

    • @collectingmythoughts991

      Toybiz was def. a really good company. Aside from the action features on the figures I really did like what they brought to the WCW line. Happy I collected so many of them.

      javis88h definitely, i still remember having goldberg in jeans,kevin nash, bret hart,ddp with motorcycle, kanyon with stair steps, unmasked rey mysterio, wolfpac macho man, sting wolfpac, scott steiner, the referee with blue shirt and a ring with the button hidden in the middle that would count the pin, good times man i tell you, too bad there's not much action figures like those today even in other brand such as marvel

    This is really weird cause I remember me and my brother having each a Bret Hart action figure that came with with a corner of a ring. The weird thing is we're from Costa Rica and what was really known around here was WWF, I'm talking about 2000, I didn't even know what WCW was. I think it was one of the Toy Biz ones because they had all the moveable parts, and I don't think they were unofficial cause they were really high quality. And around the time my cousin got the Scott Steiner one (identical to the one shown in the video). My uncles were huge WWF fans and they didn't know who Steiner was. I just don't know how these figures ended up being sold in my country since WCW never broadcasted TV shows around here and with nobody having internet to at least know it existed.

    Smash n Slam Scott Hall is in my Top 3 Figures of all time (wrestling or otherwise). Nailed the face, body type and the vest being separate rather than painted on was shocking quality. Have all 3 variations hanging around the house to this day. Makes me happy I guess. Razor4Life

    Man, once I got the WCW figures for my 6th birthday in 1998, it was unbelievable!!!! They were by far better than the WWF figures I felt. The WWF figures were fun but as terms of scale and actual likeness, WCW destroyed WWF as terms of figure quality. It really wasn't until later in 2000 when the TTL figures from WWF had Real Scanned technology that they were better than the WCW figures.
    You did forget the Grip N Flip figures in which they are silly but, when you're between 6-10 years old playing with them and owning them, they were awesome! Same goes for the giant talking WCW figures. Good times, great video!

    My favorite of the wcw toyline were the ones that actually talk. I remember i had ddp and sting. I at first i thought they only just speck random phrases but one time i pushed them both at the same time and the spoke to one another. It was freaky but awesome at the same time. I love how once they are flat on their back you hear a referee give the 123 count and a bell ring. Best of wcw toys imo.

      +NikateeN Yeah I can't argue on that they we're sure fat.I remember I had an Undertaker and I think it was part of the Bone-Crushing Series or I think that's what it was called,But he had bendable legs and he would make bone cracking sounds.

      It's funny I had my figures out about 2 years ago and I started to shoot footage of the toys for a vid and half way through I thought "why the hell would somebody watch a video about my old toys?" And I stopped... Lol!

      I was thinking the same way about my videos too-especially me basically being an amateur at it lol....I started my channel a few years back and had it empty for a while. I just recently worked up the nerve to start uploading. But it's def. been a lot of fun for me so far sharing my thoughts and collections. Hopefully with time I can grow my channel more.

      Jack Halls, I've also created a set of videos on my channel giving my thoughts on my collection of Toybiz WCW figures as well as my Hasbro WWF collection if you were interested in giving them a view. My latest video covers the Toybiz Smash N' Slam Wrestling ring.
