    LYRICS:
The cold comes with a sting, a sting across my hands, cracking and breaking like the weight upon my chest. It took me years to figure out it’s what I needed to survive. My resolve will be revived. I discovered the cure for my misery by spending time with the unforgiving, something so much more graceful than anything living. Alone with the wind is where I hide, as I find my place among the stars. This moment makes me feel alive. It's what I need to survive. Time stands still as my thoughts stop swimming. My muscles may ache, my tendons may break, but tearing myself down to nothing has allowed me to become something more than this. Something greater… This is where I may seem lost, but I promise you I'm more awake than ever. I'm facing up towards the never ending expanse, and finding my place among the stars. Alone with the wind is where I hide, as I find my place among the stars. This moment makes me feel alive. It's what I need to survive. Open soul, open mind. I'm finally focused on what's inside. I've gained a new perspective.

August Burns Red, Erra, and Between the Buried and Me. At least according to my taste, these three bands are so good they make most of the rest of the genre a redundant snooze. But to each their own, of course.

Everything they have done has led them to this point right now. We are finally seeing the TRUE ABR. It has elements of everything from thrill seeker to sledding hill etc. I feel as though they have found themselves and this is the start of something great. It is so rare for a band to evolve exponentially while still remaining true to everything. These guys have transcended and are so far ahead of the competition it's ridiculous. So refreshing to see a band change without going generic or ridiculously experimental to the point its not enjoyable. I wish more bands took the approach these guys have, ABR have become savants at their respective roles and refined and added so many elements to their sound without alienating fans of their old albums and still satisfying people who want change. The album is absolutely phenomenal.

Tdwp IS definitely up here as far as bands that keep pushing the metalcore scene further. I really can't put them next to ABR cause it's kind of two different universes. ABR is more on the progressive aspect of metalcore. Tdwp brings a lot more elements to their sound but not as riff central as ABR does.

Nick McKinney honestly I did stop listening to them for a while, just found them a bit repetitive at the time when that whole scene was big. Checked out Invisible Enemy and thought it was pretty awesome, so I've been going back to my roots so-to-speak. They've stayed true to themselves and their sound, and they've naturally progressed that.

I normally don't post things like this, but this song has such an incredible message to it. There's been so much anger, hatred, division and evil in the world and I feel like we've all been letting it slowly control us in one way or another. I've definitely noticed a bad change within myself. Hearing these lyrics though have inspired me to "focus on whats inside and gain a new perspective" and to just life the best I can. A lesson I had learned a long time ago, but have so easily forgotten. Thank you for the awesome track and excellent reminder ABR. Music is a powerful tool.

I feel so old now.. I was moved by ABR in 2003 being in 3rd grade.. Now I'm 23 and they've come so far.. In middle school and high school I was obsessed and listened to them every day, completely moved and inspired and they did so much for me emotionally, mentally, especially musically. My father and I bonded over them and he ended up loving metal because of them and we played songs like composure and meddler together. This was at a time where they were definitely known but not like the behemoth they've become.. But I always knew they'd be. I've seen them live 35 times and I'll never forget their importance in my life. Even though I listen to so much different music now they will always be my number 1

The cold comes with a sting,
    a sting across my hands,
cracking and breaking like the weight upon my chest.
It took me years to figure out
it’s what I needed to survive
it’s what I needed to survive.
    My resolve will be revived.
I discovered the cure for my misery by spending time with the unforgiving,
    something more, so much more
    more graceful than anything living.
Alone with the wind is where I hide,
as I find my place among the stars.
This moment makes me feel alive.
It's what I need to survive.
Time stands still as my thoughts stop swimming.
Time stands still as my thoughts stop swimming.
My muscles may ache, my tendons may break, but tearing myself down to nothing
has allowed me to become something more than this.
    Something greater…
This is where I may seem lost,
but I promise you I'm more awake than ever.
I'm facing up towards the never ending expanse,
and finding my place among the stars.
Alone with the wind is where I hide,
as I find my place among the stars.
This moment makes me feel alive.
It's what I need to survive.
    Open soul, open mind.
I'm finally focused on what's inside.
    I've gained a new perspective.
    I've gained a new perspective.
    Open soul, open mind.
I'm finally focused on what's inside.
    I've gained a new perspective.

After hearing the full album, I can confidently say that The Frost is the worst song on the album, and that's a compliment considering this song is so advanced for it's time. I can't even begin to describe just how ground-breaking this album is. If you thought FIFAP was extraordinary you''ll be left speechless by Phantom Anthem.
