love that no matter what song Matt is playing, he's always giving 110%. shows that he truly takes pride in the drum parts he writes. and giving a beaming smile while absolutely ripping it. love this dude so much.
@@tjwlsdnjs99 Oceans Ate Alaska's wikipedia: "Oceans Ate Alaska are a British metalcore band hailing from Birmingham formed in 2010." I also think calling Chris Turner a metalcore drummer isn't the best description for him but Jordan wasn't technically wrong in mentioning him in this context
Matt Greiner is one of the best drummers to ever live. I put that on everything. He's so much more than just fast. He's unbelievably technical and had an incredible sense for fills. Not to mention the complex rhythm patterns he can basically do in his sleep.
My favrotie thing about Matt is how he layers everything. I like to think of it like he's building a multi layer cake. He adds so many different ingredients (bells, cymbals, etc..) to create these very intricate yet groovy drum beats. truly a visionary and pioneer in his craft.
I’m a guitarist and do some scream vocals but the one thing I always always always pay attention to in any ABR or Trivium song is the drums. Every single time.
This Is one of those videos you can click "like" without even watch the video, c'mon it's Matt Greiner, it has to be awesome. Everything this Man does, makes it with passion🤘🤘🤘
From 0:28 to 0:40 is honestly some of the most insane drumming I have ever seen. To be able to stay on beat with all those different patterns is just nuts. Matt Greiner one of the best to ever do it.
When this song first came out I was blown away by how this song has no coherent structure whatsoever and kinda all over the place. Now this is probably my favorite ABR song ever
More than 90% of the world will never understand the creativity and feeling you get to play and invent music. It is beyond any linguistic and can only be expressed through pure passion and expression! That was 4 pleasurable minutes of life!
I think this just got me back into August Burns Red. I remember how inspired I felt hearing and then learning Back Burner on guitar back in 2008 and this song brought back that same feeling. That's the mark of great musicians in my book :)
idk if I was only me who experienced it but as soon as this part came around (2:55) I literally starting singing the part after 3 mins of no vocals ❤ so glad to have met you in person Matt after your show at the Show Box in Seattle 2015!!
EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE AS ALWAYS BRO......KEEP DEFINING YOUR AWESOMENESS MATT .....LOVE YOUR KIT AND HOW YOU UTILIZE EACH INSTRUMENT IN YOUR SET BUDDY !!!! :)
This man knows how to add that musical flare to drums that sets him apart from just being a part of the rhythm section and keeping time. I’d like to see what he could do, if he’d learn to play guitar (if he doesn’t already dabble with it already).
I was lucky enough to get a blast bell (signed and sent by Matt) and its always somewhere on my kit. This man is an incredible drummer and also seems like a really cool dude
Killer as always. I need to listen to this again with my in ears to actually hear how good the mix is. Even with my inboard phone speakers it sounded great.
Will forever be one of my idols for sure always been following this guy since way back in 2008 when I really started playing heavy and got good. Fucking beast

Not to mention it seems like every song they write, it's like he challenges himself to make each new song more complex than the last haha

So happy with how this project came out. Love working with everyone involved :)
Matt Greiner one of the best in the game.
This might be the best thing Matt has written. It's so good.
I agree. I love his playing but this has everything I could want in a drum part
The Frost!
-I also agree with all of the above-
Who’s interested in seeing a breakdown of how the drums were recorded and mixed?

Yes! The kick drum was particularly powerful! Which is a good thing ;)

Definitely! Toontrack needs to hire him for a drum midi pack!
I was just bout to say how dialed in those tom heads are. And I'm super picky about my snare sound, but his snare sounds amazing!

This is one of the most underrated metal songs ever written.. It absolutely SLAPS!!
This looks and sounds top notch! ABR is one of the few bands that the drums are my favorite part, even though I’m not a drummer
Thanks for watching!
I have the same feeling about Trivium!
