everybody is saying this song is about losing a loved one; unless i'm completely mishearing the lyrics, its much more complicated than that. from what i hear, its about a father who was absent from his child's life. later in life, the father tries for redemption and asks for forgiveness, and the son struggles with his feelings about his father.
    "you chose to leave"
"you disregard the damage you impart"
"my judgment is clouded by the blood we share"
"i didn't skip a beat when i heard the news that you, you couldn't make it to your feet"
"just another day of not knowing what to believe; another tale, another story"
"i wish i had the words to say i love you, i'm not sure i understand what those mean when i'm thinking of you"
"i have no words for you"
"when i needed you, you wouldn't even hear it"
"you made your choices, you'll live with them even if we're gone"
unless i'm completely misinterpreting this, and he's just mad at his father for "leaving" by dying.
regardless, clearly lots of pain in this. its a powerful song, and an absolute jam.

I think rather than him being mad over his dad "leaving" by dying, he is mad because how much he was neglected by his dad throughout the years and so he tried to not to get saddened by his demise but no matter what it's still his dad, as said in "my judgement is clouded by the blood we share"
So he is mad at him for the way he treated him through out the years, lines like "I wish it had turned out different" and stuff like that through out the video.
And in the end even if through all of the neglect, he still forgives him and kisses him goodbye because no matter what he is his "ancestry

It’s a rough ride through chemo, radiation, etc. just hoping for it to work. My family was hit when my father was diagnosed. Cherish every moment and the when they say that laughter is the best medicine, it’s true. It can make a sour moment in just a bit sweeter. This band got me through so many emotions when my dad passed. Praying for you, your family, and your father.

Lost my ma, pops, and granddad to cancer all by the time I was thirteen and watched all the horrors that come with the disease but the gentleman above me is absolutely correct that laughter is one of the best tools to utilize in keeping your shit together. Surround yourself with decent folks who have good senses of humor and listen to heavy fcking metal and you'll be ok. Best wishes to you and your pops.

a lot of people forget about the anger that comes along with the sadness and guilt when someone you love passes. Anger at them of a sort for dying. An anger at the people around you for carrying on with their lives unabated. But mostly an anger at world for being such a cold and painful place. I have only known of one other band to have presented it so well: Adestria with More than you Know

    ABR hitting way to close to home. This is literally my relationship with my mother. "I didn’t skip a beat when I heard the news that you couldn’t make it to your feet. All I have is apathy, just another day of not knowing what to believe. Another tale, another story;
A lifetime of perjury. I wish I had the words to say I love you. I’m not sure I understand what those mean when I’m thinking of you."

I feel this is one of the darkest, most personal songs we've released."

The hollow point may have ripped you apart
You disregard the damage you'd impart, actualemnete ya estoy mas enfocado aunque tengo bajones en los que los canalizo con musica, comida y compañia de amigos porque desafortunadamente ya me quedo claro la naturaleza hipergamica de la mujer.
