They don’t belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for one simple reason….they are too Great and true to Rock to be in a subpar “museum”. The RRHOF is a joke.
Ya know...There just won't be anymore of these musicians ever again....RP is an absolute monster...NO ONE can even come close...Sure you've got your legendary classic delta blues slide guy's, but Mr. Price takes it to another stratosphere!!! I watch this once a day!! Big block chevy on the mat!!!! Being a Chicago native, it's icing on the cake...Why? The two Brit boy's ate, drank and sweat Chicago blues....True to their hearts, no bullshit, 1000% real...not just rip-off's...total love and respect!! Just incredibly amazing stuff!! I'm chokin'-up here....I'm just at the 60 mark and all my hero's are moving on....I feel utterly blessed and privileged to have witnessed so many true legends of the craft...It might be cliche' but, rock and roll saved me a million times over and it still is....My utmost gratitude and thank's to all my hero's that have left such an incredible body of work for all of us to enjoy!!! Rest in peace my friends ( although I gotta believe Rod and Dave just passed on and are still kickin' ass) God love 'em....My god I'm outa control!!! Sorry for the novel.... LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL!!! LATER FUCKS!!!
Nobody ever mentions it,but these 2 Dave and Rod were probably the best combination of lead and rhythm in rock. I mean just listen! They were beyond tight! No other duo I can think of put out such primal energy in their playing. Dave could probably have been a lead in another band. But why when you have Rod! And of course Mr Vegas on that thundering lowend! True God's of rock!! Dave/Rod RIP !
This April would be lonesome Dave's 80th b-day , he truly was a great performer and knew how to move the music and the crowd, but what's tragic is rod prices poor judgement on that fateful day back in 2005 when he fell down the stairs of his house which resulted in his death
Born 11,22 died 3,22.. you know those numbers. Foghat.. fog hat. You know I've always loved them but those are cult numbers and it's been said that everyone in the music industry is controlled.. I noticed the numbers a long time ago. But the name.. fog hat. It's like some weird CiA/5Eyes/skull and bones coincidence. Thoughts?
When I was a Sophomore, in 1978, one of my buddies, since 4th grade, crashed on his skateboard and split his head open on the concrete. His Mom & Brother played this at his funeral and every time I hear Stone Blue, I think of Kevin. RIP, my friend -
Geeze..I forgot how great these days were. People had jobs, theatres and small arenas had great concerts and you could actually see, hear and feel the music. Didn't need a giant video screen to see the band. I wish I could go back to the 70, and 80,s and live for ever in that time period.
I turned on a little radio I found in the garage and stumbled across WLS Chicago radio station and the first song they played was a foghat song....I was mesmerized.....I still listen to them today at 60yrs old
Saw Foghat back up Aerosmith tons of times. Always at least held their own. A few times put on a better show. Foghat wasn't about being the warmup or headliner. They were about rocking out. Lonesome Dave and Rod The Bottle, dynamic duo.
Yep, I'll never forget the night in San Antonio,Texas, in the early 70s. They opened for Humble Pie and blew them off the stage. They're still one of my favorites.
The second concert I experienced as a young man was one featuring Montrose, followed by Foghat, & then Black Oak Arkansas. Foghat blew them both off of the stage, It was on their Fool For the City tour. Still have my 8-track tape. I finally got to see them again back in 1997, at a little club on the Ohio River in Cincinnati called Annie's. It was the original lineup, and the guys were no longer skinny young dudes, but they absolutely rocked the house. The following day, the Ohio River reached flood levels & totally submerged the venue. It is so sad to have lost Dave Peveret & Rod Price. Thanks for the music, & the memories!🎸🎵🎶🎵🎸
I saw these guys about 6 months b4 lonesome Dave passed. I was non stop clapping to every song. Rod through his guitar pick at me and the guy next to me held out his arm to catch it. He missed! The pick was stuck to my sweaty chest.😊😊
Saw them on that tour. BTO and Judas Priest opened. Ticket stub says $7.50. Compare that to Rush’s last tour $175.00. And I was out of town and missed my flight. So me and the wife missed it.
this is great, FOGHAT RULES BLUES ROCK--or whatever you want to call it, great to see Dave.....thanks Dave & Foghat for making life on the planet Earth bearable, let it roll ....let it roll LET IT RRROLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!
Stone Blue is my favorite Foghat record. We never missed them when they came to town. This band had me digging into Savoy Brown as well, another great band.
Got to meet two of my favorite rock guys in Pittsburgh in the 90's I believe. This band needs to be in the hall, period!! If the flock of seagulls for crying out loud are in, then there is something very wrong!
Foghat just isn't foghat without lonesome dave rockin rod. Glad i got to enjoy some shows in the 70s and 80s. Those were some wonderful summer days. Loved outdoor concerts.
Awesome to see it done right live in this world of lip sync and auto-tune. Lonesome Dave had the best voice and Rod Price slide guitar solos freaked me out the first time I heard them in 1978 At the Cincinnati Coliseum (front row!). I am still not freaked back in!
There was an explosion of bands and music that came out all at once in the early - mid 70s and everybody had their own recognizable sound. Many didn't get the recognition for whatever reasons they should of. I feel lucky in a way that I grew up in the 70s and got to witness all this. Edit ; Plus we still had all the great 60s music and even the 50s mixed in. Best era ever in Rock and if not tell me why 70s music seems to be heard the most still today. I just made myself sad 🎵😢💔🔥😺💪
Saw these guys (well, with Craig and not with Tony) in '76. I clapped along with so many songs that my hands were sore for days afterward. BTW Roger Earl is an underrated drummer.
I saw them in concert a handful of yrs ago at the state fair, but without Rod and Dave it just wasn't the same. Wish I could go back to the 70s and 80s and go to way more concerts than I did!
Lonesome Dave has gone to HEAVEN, so he won't be 'lonesome' anymore. He and Rod Price, are trading licks with Jimi, and Clarence White, don't you know!
Best rock band ever. Foghat is the best at blending rock and blues together and Rod Price was the best ever slideplayer, and in my view, the best lead guitar player ever, as well. Incredible player. Lonesome Dave Peverett's voice blew me away with it's power and accuracy at hitting the right notes. Pretty darn good guitarist, too, and a great songwriter. Roger Earl bashes the drums with the best ever, and, Tony Stevens flat out rocks as a bass guitarist. And so does Craig McGregor on the bass. Electri-fied blues at its best. Always been my favorites!
+Galaxyman2903 Thanks, Galaxyman. The current iteration of the band rocks nicely, too. Bryan Bassett is very talented on lead and slide guitar. Charlie Huhn hs great on vocals and guitar, and that solid rhythm section. Rock on!
One of my top 3 favorite songs, maybe the greatest side 1 of any rock album. Rod Price has to be the most underrated guitarists of all time, had his own style, just amazing.
Price-less. isn't is the deepest of ironies, that after 40+ years of legacy - in the end it was only fitting the guys are running thru Mesa BOOGIE amps..and RP's tone is all there in spades. God Bless him RIP.
Foghat wrote the book on rock and roll 😎
NO AUTO TUNE ! Playing the instruments themselves ! And wrote the songs as well ! Bite it modern music! This is the real deal ! Long live FOGHAT!!!!!
Amen
Ladys And Gentlemen This IS ROCK N ROLL...!!!!!!!!!
I think Rod Price was the best slide guitarist ever in my opinion. One of Foghats best most underrated songs!
TheNatureboy64 agreed!
TheNatureboy64 yes!! Too awesome!!
Yes agreed! very best slide work, Foghat awesome! Dave great front man too!
Anyone who didn't see them live surely missed out..
spot on what a player
Why the hell ain’t these guys in the hall of fame ? Just amazing Dave’s vocals here
"Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame" What started out as a great idea, turned into a great big joke.

Amazing... The incredible Rod Price!!! The best...
Rock n roll legends right there- Dave n Rod!☮️

Still hard to believe both Dave and Rod are gone. They deserved to be rocking until their 80's.
So true man. Those two guys go together like soap and water.

The eighties had AIDS.
Vinyl. The Rock and Roll cover. Hooked. 65 still amazed. These guys were fantastic
I'm glad they got original crew together and got a show like this on tape. I seen them 4 times in the 70s. One of the best live show bands ever!

Yes the best slide guitarist and very underappreciated.
FAB guitar work
One of the greatest rock bands ever! FOGHAT is amazingly great! And STONE BLUE is one of the best rockers ever!!
The driving bass and drums propel this song. The beat is astounding. Add the great guitars and excellent singing...wow! I love this band
Now THAT'S music!!
hall of fame band period!!
The great Rod Price, and his slide, with Lonesome Dave on the stick!
These guys sound great live.
Fantastic song with killer guitar playing.
This band epitomizes rock and blues. Lonesome Dave just awesome! Rod Price is the best damn slide I've ever heard! May they rest in peace.
agreed J McGrath!
Fell in love with this song the first I heard. I bought this album without hearing a single song. Dropped the needle and was blown away.
nothing modern day can compare....thank you foghat
Yes Rod was... I seen the original guys in Florida 1997...blew me AWAY🤡777
FOGHAT are in a class by themselves !! Greatness at its finest !!
Can’t say Lonesome Dave was a fashion icon
I saw Foghat blow Aerosmith off the stage... Nothing but respect. The tightness of that band.. unparalleled!! And Rod Price.....yes, nobody better
Saw Foghat back up Aerosmith tons of times. Always at least held their own. A few times put on a better show. Foghat wasn't about being the warmup or headliner. They were about rocking out. Lonesome Dave and Rod The Bottle, dynamic duo.

Completely agree with all those who feel as I do that Rod's slide guitar sets my ears on fire!

That just kicked my butt. They were tight on that song and that slide solo was awesomely awesome 👏👏👍👍
I still listen to this particular video almost daily…
Gr8 Song Stone Blue. Gr8 memories of my 70's at 73. Burn it
Rod Price...You were the best, mean slide, nobody compares...Warren Haynes and all others step aside.
Rod was such a badass! king of the slide, baby....
