  • Rishi Sunak has failed to rule out holding a general election in July, as speculation remains rife over the timing of the national vote.
The prime minister has repeatedly said his "working assumption" is the election would take place in the second half of this year - with the law stating January 2025 is the latest he could call it.
Mr Sunak also spoke to Trevor Phillips about the Rwanda scheme.

They can send African or other black community asylum seekers to Rwanda, so when they are there they will find it easy to get along with people, get work permit and live. other white asylum seekers they can send them to Mauritius, as Mauritius is half French land, they can get job-work permit and live there. UK government should help these asylum seekers get work permit/job (CSR /TSR jobs) too to the country they are sending, they can get a contract singed with some company to give them jobs for 5 years after that they can figure out where to move or stay there if they like it there. A few days of hotel stay will not help them, A job (work permit for 5 years) will help them, they can go to other countries work and live. if they have good communication skills they can easily get call center jobs.
BEST is they can start a call center company in Rwanda( for black community) and Mauritius (for white community)and, instead of spending money on hotel stay they can send them there on work permit for 5 years.

Israel had a "voluntary departure" scheme for 4,000 migrant deportations with Rwanda between 2014 and 2017. Most were driven straight to the border. Almost all are thought to have left the country almost immediately, with many attempting to return to Europe via people-smuggling routes.
Rwandan homes that were previously earmarked to house migrants deported from the UK have already been sold to local buyers. the developer has said.
Some 70% of the 163 affordable homes on the Bwiza Riverside estate have been sold, the developer ADHI-Rwanda said.
On top of the £220 million Britain has already paid Rwanda, the UK government has agreed to pay an extra £150 million over the next three years, and £120 million pounds once the first 300 asylum seekers have been resettled, the National Audit Office (NAO) said on Friday 1st March 2024. Still not one person has been sent to Rwanda.
