Just to make it clear The ZX14 does have a turbo, i know because i was riding it. I have been new to the turbo world and have had some learning curves. Both Cory (Bussa driver ) and I are friends. We both are quite capable and have had several 8 seconds runs. If you are a racer you will know just how hard it is to accomplish this and to be consistent. Both Cory and I and the rest of our group all share the same passion and we are at the track racing for the fun and the enjoyment of the power and speed these bike can produce.
To me,the make of the bike is irrelevant. When you are at the staging line your heart will be pumping and your concentration on the tree will be the same regardless of the make of your machine. "An 8 second run is still an 8 second run"
"An 8 second run is an 8 second run". I could not disagree more. A 9 second bike can beat an 8 second bike when the reaction time is as horrible as the Busa rider's. The hard work on the track is over by the 100' point.

@@johnjones5977 has it occurred to you they are not really racing each other heads up. They are just trying to improve their own times. It makes little difference when you leave the line, time only starts when you break the beams.
It's easier to do a consistent run, when you are not totally concerned about reaction time or leaving at the same time as the other rider or driver.

That Kawi has a great launch...just can't hold on for the finish. I'm a fan of twitch as a road rider, but you have to respect long legs in this situation.

Check the lag on the Busa then it takes off. That first riders response is impressive fantastic launch.
8.98 is quite a bit quicker than 9.18, but if you leave that late...or is it a staggered start?

Just a note: The Kawasaki has launch control. Ohh, and great rider.
Can't believe these guys are running stock wheels/rotors. A set of Rotobox CF wheels on the ZX-14R would eliminate nearly 17 pounds of rolling inertia, per Brock's Performance website numbers. Yeah expensive, but so is a turbo kit.

Side-pipe bikes aren't necessarily turbo charged. You can buy Sidewinder exhaust systems for drag bikes. Check out Brock's Performance if you don't believe me.

That thing is moving out but it is running a turbo on it from the sound of it and looking at the trap speed compared to the 14 in the 1st few races.
Its defiantly a turbo Busa you can see the turbo exhaust on the right side .
Try riding either of those down the street. Was that bracket racing? The starts looked like it.
I could never get better than high 10's on my 929 but I wAs walkin it the whole track
Hell I got two ninjas 01 zx6r and 04 zx600e and I still think(I know) my 91 gsx750f katana would leave em both in the quarter mile but stretch it to half mile and the Kawasaki's would walk away from it Suzuki has great low end and decent mid range but kawi rules mid range and top end I also had 94 rf900r Suzuki(I sold) but same as my old katana red light to red light not many could touch it and twisty back roads that kept us in lower gears my Suzuki's ruled but out on highways or long straight roads the ninjas are boss (they have an extra gear 6) but Kawasaki always felt weaker to me even tho on paper they got more HP the zooks just have more torque especially in low gear

fitting a quick action throttle makes the hayabusa a transformed bike.mines derestricted and changed the gearing I could do 95mph in first gear now I can do 120 mph
this has to be bracket racing, there is no way the busa driver is that bad.

I always feels like all Suzuki mamufactured bikes has good top end speed and low end torque.....I owe Indian made Suzuki GS150R and GIxxer bike....I always stay behind in short race but wins on highway in long run.

sudhir kumar their names are only to be remembered, and that doesnt mean to be a legend. Just like motogp rider, many names that can be remembered but only a few riders who can become a legend.
ZX-14R is harder to boost/tune, from what I've read. Hayabusa obviously has proven itself as a bulletproof engine.

It's nice to have someone who sets it straight. I'm one of the riders in this video and although I'm far from a great rider I'm out there as much as I can having a blast and getting better performances the more I practice. We are videoed often and yes... criticized, scorned and then one in a while praised :) In the end we do what we do not for others but simply for some personal sense of achievement and we get to know some great people along the way. We love our sport and encourage anyone with the desire to come join us.

But in this comparison, if both bikes were stock, the Busa gets her ass handed. Of course a turbocharged bike has quite the edge.
The H2 is a $25,000 supercharged bike that barely beats $15,000 1000's. That's embarrassing. Add turbo or supercharger to to a busa and it destroys the $50,000 H2R. The HP4 is in the same price class as the H2, and it's faster without a supercharger.

So do all you guys know the stats on these bikes?? I do. I'm the rider of the busa. Yes my starts SUCK. that's why I'm at the track practicing. I have stock gears, first turbo bike, built myself. The ZX does have mods, gears, air shifter, ect and more experienced. But all you keyboard warriors know everything right??? Lol

Southeast has so many fast 1000's, you can pull up a ton of grudge bikes in the 7's my friend. tons of street/strip bikes that run in the 8 second zone. tons of engine builders that can build u a high 8 second bike. look at Brock Davidson built a stock bmw with nothing but bolt on's that was a mid 8sec bike. he also did a zx10 that was an 8sec bike. check RUclips, there's plenty of proof. or come on down 2 ga,sc,nc, or al & see 4 yourself. FLA got quite a few also, don't doubt it cause it ain't on video. most of them won't let you see the times anyway, check grudge bike racing & see how many of them gonna sho you a time 🤔🤔🤔

Maybe... Truth is I am on a diet and have dropped 15 pounds but he has gone 8.79 and my best is 9.13.
Thanks , I am trying 16, 45 ratio currently , it's gone a 1.43 in 60ft with a 44 sprocket... still playing with launch rpms and shift points. I have a stock header and have the PC5 but I haven't had a map made on the dyno yet ... maybe when I get a pipe. Running very low fuel amount and experimenting with fuel types. I'd love that high 8 sec pass :)
Gearhead Garage you would be surprised what a QUALITY pipe and a GOOD tune can do. Canned maps for the PC5 leave to much HP on the table. Look for a used Ti Akrapovik. Really the only pipe worth buying if you want more than to sound good. And the Titanium race pipes are around used. Can probably pick one up used for $800 or so. Another thing you can do is strap down your front end. It's a kit you can buy. Comes with brackets and special tie downs. Helps with the launch. Also weight savings by getting a Lithium ion battery. Probably drop 10 lbs right there. $100 for that. And if want to get serious, replace the rear shock and linkage with a strut. Probably save 15 to 20 lbs there as well. Cheap but effective things that can be reversed easily.

Busa rider is a noob, plus he needs to learn how to realise the bike quickly... He won the race and smoke the 14 guy, but if he know how to realise the bike, he don't even need to see the taillights/backlight of the 14 rider in the first place or in the race.
