- Now this will probably the strangest thing you'll see!! During the SCC500 Deutsche Meisterschaft Rolling50 1000 in Lahr Germany, I have filmed a 230HP Mega Kart equipped with a Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade engine, drag racing against a 400HP Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa!

@@Bokgat The bike had vastly more power, but in physics terms the kart will have several advantages. 1) The CofG is much lower, so it’s far less likely to wheelie. 2) It also doesn’t ever need to lean into corners, so the wheels can be flat and wide, giving much more contact area, and 3) lastly of course it has two driven wheels at the back, not one. As an example, Moto GP lap times are roughly the same as Formula Renault, or only a bit quicker than a super kart, despite the enormous difference in power to weight ratio.
The reason bikes aren’t karts (or single seater cars) is because not everyone is just after performance, some people love riding bikes, in which case a kart or a car won’t cut it! It’s a totally different sensation and experience.
@@RobManser77 hi rob. Thx for that. Yes agree. I prefer the added flexibility of riding my motorbike. Couldnt imagine being stuck in traffic in a cart behind a mini even. It’s what pisses us off about wagons ^ 10.

Would think that cart would do much better with some taller tires. I've ridden a CBR 1000RR. They're wicked . That engine definitely has the power to turn them.

@@BobbyOfEarth I'm sure it would. Those tiny tires are stupid. Killing the gearing. Needs something much taller so it gets some forward motion. Then add some sticky for traction. Probably should add some wheelie bars. Then you could get rid of the rolling start too. Now it time to hold on and hope you can keep it in a straight line.
@@briankennedy5578 Hundred percent agree with you. The wheelspin at the start was ridiculous, and cost him plenty of forward speed. Needs a taller fatter tyre to increase the size of the contact patch and gear it higher. To be fair, that kart is built to race around a track, instead of being a dragster, those wheels make perfect sense from that point of view.
@@darrenjpeters but still there's the gear ratio. That short is ridiculous. And they will heat up much quicker. With a normal cart engine , I can see the small tires. Much less weight to get turning. With that engine , not an issue. Rode one of those bikes. Couldn't get full throttle. Quarter throttle has you on one wheel sideways. It's a BEAST

You hear the result of a turbo @4:17 - it's there, hidden under the fearing. This bike is probably not road legal with 400 hp under the hood- so!. How do you double the output to 400 hp without a turbo? Power Commander - come on :-)))))

At the very end of the video it's awesome. And the go kart engine blows a piston in the very final seconds, you can hear the engine burning up and bogging down and you can see the smoke. The nitrous on the Go-Kart obviously ruined it.

Tim Michaels on the first speed run camera zoomed in on the computer monitor to show the cart crossed @ 227 Km/H But the bike was much faster @ 272! They should've showed the last run also but the cart needed bigger rear tires!

Sure. Can you register the kart and drive to the Supermarket? Where would you put your groceries? Will it pass over speed bumps? Does it comply with design, crash and emission rules.
