It’s a flat track bike, which is why he rides with his foot down and can gamble more with traction, also why he can hold a faster line without the risk of dumping th bike.

Purpose built machines excel in their natural habitat. Needless to say, had there been a right hand turn in this race, it would have ended a lot differently. Still good fun to watch🤘🏽

Yes and no. That bike was very unstable at those angles I noticed several times that he almost lost it but due to the skill he was able to keep it going. This was a great run

It wasn’t the bike that actually won this but the ability to use his foot to touch the ground to help rotate the bike and hit the apex of the corner better

Everything about this is hilarious! The football pads, the grandpa posture, the sound of that cruiser, the bent handlebars, the fact he smoked those street bikes and especially the comments.
Great video but I see a lot of comments suggesting that number 5 was the favorite to win from the beginning. This is false. His bike (Suzuki AR600) is specifically designed for this track and everything about it from the small gas tank, tilted handlebars, no gauges, no rear suspension, etc. is meant to be fastest around a paved oval track of this length. This demonstration is meant to portray how specialized the bikes and riders of this race format are. Still a great video with talented riders and it's hilarious to watch a dude with a 50hp bike casually go past motorcycles that look way more impressive.

Number 5 even starts last to make his victory even more impressive. He is so laid back in his yellow shoulder pads like he is chillin not racing. Imagine how the 2 race bike riders felt as he blew them off with those crazy bent bars and thin tyres! You are now a hero legend number 5 the funniest race I have ever seen.
That's just a function of how this purpose-built bike is made. it's built to put him in a comfortable position on exactly this type of circuit, where you only turn left, and spend a relatively small amount of time in the straights.
they feel nothing as its a dumb comparison "look at this purpose built bike beating bikes that arent designed for this purpose" put that circle track bike on a road course or supermoto track and it would loose by a much larger margin
Those guys were not “race bikers.” One of them totally blew the launch and they were both hanging off like monkeys and gave up on leaning more once they got a knee down. Riding in a circle is a tire race. You’ve got to leeeean more.

not even close... under that jersey is steel armour, armadillo style. Very weird, very specific to a particular kind of race. Despite the armour, they NEVER crash (so the documentary said).
I'm pretty sure those are that way on purpose. Notice how they are level when the bike is leaned over. My favorite part is his riding position everyone else is tucked in and it looks like heat on a ride through the Countryside
I like how number 5 seems to casually drive back to the pit at the end, the guy looked completely relaxed from begining to end, he makes this look so easy althouh level is high... pure mastery.
Well, the handlebar makes it easier for him to maintain an upright position and with it closer to ideal center of gravity - its effectively easier to corner with this bike than with any of the others.
@@hardlybentspoke1506 none of the riders get much respect from the actual race. none of supermoto riders counter leaned. They just sat neutral and acted like they were on a cruiser or some shit. Also, this track is horrible for GP bikes. Cant really fault them when their bikes probably are suck in 1st gear on this slow/small/simple track. This was either for show (to exploit fans that do not understand lean on certain bike types) or those are some of the worst supermoto racers around. Id believe the latter since this is in an Asian country. They are notoriously shit at bike racing when compared to anything in the EU/US.

Narrower tires have better turning radius, so more maneuverable
Lighter rotational mass means he can accelerate out of the corner faster with less power
Tire surface to weight of the motorcycle ratio probably plays a role as well here.

Herman Munster is pretty good on that bike.
Great video but I see a lot of comments suggesting that number 5 was the favorite to win from the beginning. This is false. His bike (Suzuki AR600) is specifically designed for this track and everything about it from the small gas tank, tilted handlebars, no gauges, no rear suspension, etc. is meant to be fastest around a paved oval track of this length. This demonstration is meant to portray how specialized the bikes and riders of this race format are. Still a great video with talented riders and it's hilarious to watch a dude with a 50hp bike casually go past motorcycles that look way more impressive.

優勝したバイクはオートレース専用バイク。
左回りの傾斜のあるコースなので路面と水平になるよう左ハンドルを高くしてます。
あと、タイヤも路面に食い付きやすくするために断面が三角形になってたりと色々とオートレース用に工夫してます。
やっぱ自分の土壌で戦うのが一番ってことやな

Number 5 even starts last to make his victory even more impressive. He is so laid back in his yellow shoulder pads like he is chillin not racing. Imagine how the 2 race bike riders felt as he blew them off with those crazy bent bars and thin tyres! You are now a hero legend number 5 the funniest race I have ever seen.
That's just a function of how this purpose-built bike is made. it's built to put him in a comfortable position on exactly this type of circuit, where you only turn left, and spend a relatively small amount of time in the straights.
they feel nothing as its a dumb comparison "look at this purpose built bike beating bikes that arent designed for this purpose" put that circle track bike on a road course or supermoto track and it would loose by a much larger margin
Those guys were not “race bikers.” One of them totally blew the launch and they were both hanging off like monkeys and gave up on leaning more once they got a knee down.
Riding in a circle is a tire race. You’ve got to leeeean more.

I like how number 5 seems to casually drive back to the pit at the end, the guy looked completely relaxed from begining to end, he makes this look so easy althouh level is high... pure mastery.
Well, the handlebar makes it easier for him to maintain an upright position and with it closer to ideal center of gravity - its effectively easier to corner with this bike than with any of the others.

@@hardlybentspoke1506 none of the riders get much respect from the actual race. none of supermoto riders counter leaned. They just sat neutral and acted like they were on a cruiser or some shit. Also, this track is horrible for GP bikes. Cant really fault them when their bikes probably are suck in 1st gear on this slow/small/simple track. This was either for show (to exploit fans that do not understand lean on certain bike types) or those are some of the worst supermoto racers around. Id believe the latter since this is in an Asian country. They are notoriously shit at bike racing when compared to anything in the EU/US.

It's called physics. The bike and rider had a better setup for the turns over a particular distance. Pretty cool to watch how that worked.
