It's really not new though, OEM no lift shift has been around for over 10 years with GM. My 2010 zr1 even has it.

I'll be doing a Charger Hellcat comparison as well, but I couldn't get the only supercharged "Last Call" Charger, the Kind Daytona, so I decided to still focus on price point (both Black Ghost and Blackwing being around $100K) in this comparison.

They are built for completely different types of owners. I love the Challenger for the fun factor and smiles. I would love the Caddy for daily life and road tripping. There is no right or wrong choice here.

As much as tire spin exists, the sound, power, fun, and raw speed of the black ghost just takes it for me.

It's the RedEye for me personally, but the black wing is an incredible vehicle.
The Black Ghost is just such a fun and in your face muscle car. The Blackwing is a sophisticated brawler but really competes with the Euro stuff. Charger/ Chally are really just doing their own loud and proud thing. Love it.

I’m a Hellcat loyalist, I drive a Trackhawk, and I love the motor. If the meh interior on the Mopars bothered me, I’d have this or an Escalade V without question. This for the manual especially though, the best theft deterrent these days, and factory no lift shift is sweet. The GM motor sounds so delicious, in the cabin especially. I love the scream of the Hellcat motor, but the frantic hum of the GM supercharger is equally as good, just in a more refined way. I wish I had the money to have a Mopar and a GM halo vehicle.

Many reviews mention the nice turn radius plus the lack of a decent sounding horn. Fortunately, replacing that horn is cheap and easy. How about that C pillar visibility though? I love both cars but personally I would take the Blackwing.
Same exact interior from 2015. At least they could've changed it for the ending, they gave the Durango a new interior just a few year's ago.
They knew they wouldn't need to do anything to the cabin and could keep selling as many Chargers/Challengers as they wanted until both were discontinued. It sucks for the consumer, but makes sense for the company.

I have been driving the 345 version and it's definitely fun to drive. I could only imagine this package. Honestly, if I need 4 seats... I would Get the caddy. If not, I would get the challenger.
That's not fair, One is a family car the Challenger was like the Mustang, Camaro, made for a young family. Daah!
Do you mean not fair in favor of the Dodge or the Cadillac? The CT5-V Blackwing actually is faster 0-60 and has a slightly faster top speed. Also Caddy would mop the floor with the Dodge on a track where handling matters due to the electronic LSD and steering tuning. Honestly probably one of the all around greatest engineered cars America has ever made. Randy Pabst got the CT5V Blackwing within a second of his own lap time in the Porsche 911 GT3 at Willow Springs which is built from the ground up for the track and he was driving the manual which is slower than the automatic.
Love the caddy blackwing you get a lot more for your money I think. I love it.

I own the same BW and absolutely love the car......now if only the snow would melt so I could enjoy it! I would have similar sentiments about the TRX and Raptor. TRX for the raw power, Raptor for the elegance and driveability.

Blackwing for sure, more luxurious muscle if that makes sense. Challenger S/C whine is too much for me..pure v8 sound from the blackwing! Stunning machine.
I expected the Cadillac to be just what it is. I’m actually dreaming about a Ct4v blackwing but would be happy with just a V .
If given the choice of the 2 cars I would walk straight to the Challenger because the Caddy looks like an Easter egg in that blue.

Great review, both are awesome vehicles and one would be lucky to own either of them. They both demand respect in their own right. I do however feel that a better comparison would have been with a Charger since it is a sadan. Just my two cents.

I CHOSE the 2024 Blackwing. That model year doesn't start building til July, but I'm at the top of the list at my dealer.
They've made hotrods something other than desirable.
All 3 pony car makers were light and manageable.
The ones today are huge barges that are as big as the 60's 4 doors of an era long ago...

Coming from owning 2 x M5's, especially the F10 M5, you can tell the Cadillac tries to hit the major luxury appointments, but kind of misses the mark in many areas. The m5 had a power up and down rear trunk, comfort access and soft close for all 4 doors, etc. It's those little things that make a luxury sports sedan feel complete. The Cadillac just feels like a pig with makeup in many instances. I still think it's amazing though due to the fact it comes with the 6 MT as an option. I just wish they'd up the ante on luxury and interior look and feel. Too many glaring cheap spots on the car to substantiate 6 figures.

The only thing I didn't like was that you had the driver seat of the black ghost almost as far back as it could go. Because like you said you're over 6 feet and you didn't have to move that seat back one bit.A matter of fact it looked like you could of put it Forward Maybe.
Great observation! I have a Challenger Hellcat, and it’s best to enter the backseats on the passenger side due to the seat manually slides up for easier entry.
dont get me wrong im definitely a fan of the old school muscle car vibe with mopar but Cadillac been stepping up a great deal lately, the Cadillac is prolly more likely to turn heads going down. the road.
You all can make up all the excuses to buy a marginally more luxurious car but I'm taking the 800hp supercharger hemi monster that sounds like a true beast. As a performance car enthusiast, how could I ask for more? Aside from a stroker 830whp Viper ACR that is lol.

For me personally dodge hasn't done enough, a small boost in power does not garnish a $100k price tag. As a Mopar guy I can't even justify upgrading to the same car for what $40k more then what I paid for in 2018?
The putting the power down is mostly because of the alpha chassis. They are all like that.
