+Ludauss Sten is awesome if you get his friendship high. His love of cookies gets me. Iron Bull is much better but Sten is better than Vivienne in so many ways. I didn't wish for an opportunity to kill a companion with Sten the way I did with Vivienne.
Considering most people actually like the choices the game provides 1 - funny/sarcastic 2 - arrogant tyrant 3 - honorable "lets save the world" thing 4 - mkay.
Da2 did it FAR better. Hawke's lines and tone changed depending on your personality and it could be changed over the course of the game. By lines I mean the automatic responses he gives that you can't choose. So you could start out as a hopeful hero in act 1, bitter and sarcastic in act 2, and angry and vengeful in act 3, or any other combination. You could literally give your character an emotional arc over the course of the story and have it reflected in game. If that's not roleplaying I don't know what is.
YEP, apparently the ingame screenshot of DAV are much more closer to the darker aesthetics... But the trailer companion is pure GARBAGE. I needed to watch this one to remind me what a good trailer is.
I played all Dragon Age games and loved them all. Thank you for this beautiful universe. I really hope we are far from the end! I can't stop playing them again after all this time and always find something I did not know about, there are so many details... I love you, DA teams. Thank you for making me dream.
MrFlashu2 update I've played it four times through now haha I did play origins after my first DAI playthrough. DA2 also. I think DAI is my favorite though.

After watching this,trailer after having played the game I noticed something, during all the teamwork scenes in the trailer it's always two characters who don't like each other much Vivienne & Iron Bull- Vivienne routinely pits down Iron Bull whenever they are together (at least that's what I gather when the party's walking around and talking Blackwall & Dorian- In Blackwall's own words: "Dorian? He's arrogant, he preens himself, but you don't need me to tell you that, it's not like he hides it" In general they don't get along Cassandra & Varric- Those two have basically been at odds since DAII, Cassandra kidnapped him and interrogated him, but also Varric remains routinely sarcastic and evasive around her Solas & Sera- (That scene was sort of hidden in the back if you didn't see it) Sera sees Solas as a stuffy and boring stick in the mud too lost in the past, and Solas however seems to see Sera as the representation of elves having lost their past Looking at this I actually quite like that detail, in my mind it seems to,suggest at the idea that not everyone in the Inquisition gets along, but when the chips are down and there is battle to be met its members will unite in the name of a common cause.
+Maia- San He is bowing before a powerful woman because in the Qun, powerful women are the priests. Tamassrans. That is the female gender role. They control what the Qunari will do. All the other Qunari follow their orders. They are the head of the body of the Qun.
+Dropkick Piper I know this was commented awhile ago, but in banter between Vivi and Bull she asks him if there was anyway she could assist him in combat and he says that ice is good because he loves smashing frozen enemies into pieces, like here in the trailer~ ;P
Gameplay and combat were okay. But what puts this in my top three games of all time is the characters. Jesus Christ the characters. So fleshed out and down to earth. Even the ones you don’t like you can’t say it because you don’t know enough. Each one has a soul and personality. A true joy to see them banter while we traveled the wilds

It is a very typical Bioware game. Corridor maps (well, DAI less than DA2 and DAO), somewhat decent combat, good story and superb companions with a lot of character and great interaction.
To those asking where our sneaky boy Cole is: 0:37 If you look to the middle-right of the screen, you cans see him behind the Inquisitor. I suggest slowing down the speed because it's hard to see him before he vanishes. And 1:03 look behind Cassandra and Blackwall you can see a faint outline of him before he becomes visible.

The areas are all there, Hinterlands, Exalted Plains, Emprise de Lion, blah blah, but it's cool seeing the characters do their moves. Solas with a Fire Wall, Sera doing a Leaping Shot, Dorian doing a ton of Necromancy, Blackwall with a Shield Bash, Cole using Stealth. All so badass.
Also Vivienne using winters breath and Iron Bull using in (albeit very exaggerated) crushing blow, and the inquisitor using the signature mark of the rift
Gangerworld I think the way Cole Slips into stealth in the very first Moment the companions are seen and moves away, fits very good into his character of "the helpful ghost", also note how he Comes back to sight once the greatest threat appears.
Dropkick Piper Bull actually tells Vivienne that he likes it when she freezes stuff. I also really love seeing Solas in the trailer, kind of adds to the lyrics of the song.

if you only knew how many times I replayed this game and keep finding random stuff and missions I never did before even after all this years. what a game.
I played all races and all classes, and everytime it's a different experience. My favourite one was a female mage Qunari, nobody likes you! You're a woman in a world of men, a mage in a place where magic is feared, a giant beast from an invader culture, and even to that culture you are a traitor.
But... But... The tone here is nearly identical to the Veilguard trailer, lol. I remember people going mad over this trailer for similar reasons people are going mad now.

Back here after watching the new Dragin Age: The Veilgaurd trailer.... Now this trailer gets me hyped for a new dragon age game, unlike that mess they just released.
I'm sad that the successor ended everything that this wonder built, they had history in their hands, besides I'll miss the Qnaris as they were. I hope they remake the game as it should be.
Here because failguard did me dirty as an avid DA fan since DA2, and I needed to compare trailers cause it felt like a completely different game. I wonder if the latest series of DA books are going to be better than the next game installment. One can only hope the lore of the world will keep me going.

@@shini1908 Aside from Varric and Scout Harding returning, I don't dig the new characters at all. Obviously we don't know them yet, but they have very dull designs and you could probably guess what kind of personality they have. It'll probably be like ME andromeda how the characters range from pretty okay to down right boring. Here's hoping the gameplay trailer will be good atleast.
@@shini1908 yeah I did. It had a nice artstyle aswell, 2 was starting to look dated even at the time. I really enjoyed cassandra, Varric has always been great, Solas "egghead" is a great character, iron bull and Dorian are pretty cool. Cole and blackwall were just okay, I do like blackwalls romance though. The only characters I didn't care for were sera who I thought was annoying and Vivienne who was just rude, I didn't like her attitude. The supporting characters like leliana I've always liked her, and Cullen is great, I wish they were party members but oh well. Josephine was also a fun character. Overall the inquisition characters were a giant step up from 2's characters, I'd put them slightly below the origins cast.

I hope there's a time when your whole party fights together, like in Origins and 2. Origins' was pretty minor, but keeping your whole party together to fight in 2 was supremely cool (trying to keep this as un-spoilered as possible, cuz there are people who haven't played Origins and 2. If you are one of those people, I'd suggest playing them before Inquisition, but you don't have to :) Cheers)

Even with the pop music this trailer is still better than Veilguards. I think it's because it keeps the dark fantasy vibes and not Disney/ Pixar.

apparently the ingame screenshot of DAV are much more closer to the darker aesthetics... But the trailer companion is pure GARBAGE. I needed to watch this one to remind me what a good trailer is.

Here because failguard did me dirty as an avid DA fan since DA2, and I needed to compare trailers cause it felt like a completely different game. I wonder if the latest series of DA books are going to be better than the next game installment. One can only hope the lore of the world will keep me going.

@@h445 DAO and DA2 trailers were far superior, but this in comparison to Veilguard looks a lot better. It at least has some seriousness to it and everything doesn't look so damn cartoonish.

This is what dragon age should be. Dark fantasy, badass heroes fighting against the darkspawn, and a protagonist who leads them. Not that awful trailer for the new one.
i also came here for the same reason, this was not the best trailer ever seen by any means but it captured the spirit of dragon age, unlike that unwatchable heap of dung we got yesterday.
@@shini1908 Aside from Varric and Scout Harding returning, I don't dig the new characters at all. Obviously we don't know them yet, but they have very dull designs and you could probably guess what kind of personality they have. It'll probably be like ME andromeda how the characters range from pretty okay to down right boring. Here's hoping the gameplay trailer will be good atleast.

@@shini1908 yeah I did. It had a nice artstyle aswell, 2 was starting to look dated even at the time. I really enjoyed cassandra, Varric has always been great, Solas "egghead" is a great character, iron bull and Dorian are pretty cool. Cole and blackwall were just okay, I do like blackwalls romance though. The only characters I didn't care for were sera who I thought was annoying and Vivienne who was just rude, I didn't like her attitude. The supporting characters like leliana I've always liked her, and Cullen is great, I wish they were party members but oh well. Josephine was also a fun character. Overall the inquisition characters were a giant step up from 2's characters, I'd put them slightly below the origins cast.

Yeah I sort of think of them as Medieval buddy cops. Varric is the charming comical relief and Cassandra is the strait woman.
yeah, maybe if you use them together enough by the end of the game they sort of get along, like Avaline and Isabella.

Dragon age 2 = Dark fantasy
Dragon age inqustion = High Fantasy
Dragon age Veilguard = Disney Fantasy

I hope there's a time when your whole party fights together, like in Origins and 2. Origins' was pretty minor, but keeping your whole party together to fight in 2 was supremely cool (trying to keep this as un-spoilered as possible, cuz there are people who haven't played Origins and 2. If you are one of those people, I'd suggest playing them before Inquisition, but you don't have to :) Cheers)
