".. I'll treasure the chance to be wrong once again, my friend.."
that line hit me hard. Dam it Solas I will save you from yourself my crazy friend!
That line hit me really hard :(
+TBRH4EVER I chose the ''I'm going to stop you'' but that line also hit me hard my Inquisitor and Solas were good friends.
+TBRH4EVER I am not ashamed to admit I teared up a little at that.
+TBRH4EVER Yeah that line hit me in the feels. DAMMIT SOLAS! bros for life. :(
Give me my Masterwork Tier 4 staff of dragon bone back you damn egg!
This is the best comment I’ve ever seen.
Boi same
Same thing happened to me in my first playthrough. I just wish that they would put them back in your inventory. Not lose them forever.
@Samaritan bruh!!!You a fool!😂😂😂
@Decapatain Cuppajoe he was the only one I used and now Vivienne needs it!🤣
Solas is so tragic on many different levels. He is truely a fascinating character and he will be amazing as the antagonist. One who you can sympathize with and understand.
+readalot And hopefully decapitate. I don't want to toot my horn but I played with inquisition with 0 spoilers or hints and knew he was some type of anti hero. I didn't know on what scale, but I never trusted him.
+readalot I couldn't agree more, he's so deliciously tragic and one can easily understand all his suffering, his guilt, his sense of duty and desire to right his wrongs. And even though he goes about it the wrong way, you can clearly see that he's not evil, like Cole says, he doesn't want to hurt people, he just doesn't see any other way to save his people.
+FluffyNinjaLlama Ya, It's in refusing to listen to his friends and try to find another way, that although he may not BE evil he might become evil. GAH i just want to know what happens next! they better make another game and SOON!
+readalot Antagonist? My inquisitor would join him the first chance she gets.
As would mine even though she is Trevelyan/Cullen but i really REALLY doubt that will be an option in the next game.
"You don't need to destroy this world. I'll prove it to you."
"I would treasure the chance to be wrong once again, my friend."
These final lines are so beautiful
🐰
sadly murdered by the veilguard. its an ok game. just didnt do justice to the story.
Literally canonically everything is on fire
Man...the voice acting, the music, the animation of the characters' expressions, the writing. This whole scene just comes together so well. Perfect final note for Dragon Age Inquisition (and much better than the ending to the main game).
redhawkmillenium Who's ready for the next Dragon Age?
Agreed, though the ending for the main game had my hyped as fuck, this is much better!
Agreed on all counts, but especially the writing. The dialogue is exceptional.
They better not fuck up
@@evansheehan9258 Everyone niw that they've announced it
Is it bad that I find Solas's friendship more powerful than his romance? Seeing him show this level of respect to a human, he shows the same level of respect, guilt and fondness that he shows to a romanced female elf. It's powerful, as much as I love Solas as a character, he is indeed, biased towards elves, and anyone would hold bias to one they truly love, their significant other. Like the friendshipped Solas made him start seeing things in a different light. Sure, a romanced female elf does too, but she had the advantage of being A: An elf, and B. Solas's girlfriend.
It just felt more earned to me.
That and I fucking love when Solas says *_"I would treasure the chance to be wrong once again, my friend"_* It was so powerful imo
I completely agree.
@Burnt Potatoes hey you take that back he's not an egg!
i one hundred percent agree...seeing solas gain respect for a member of a race he once considered inferior hit me harder than the romanced elf version
@@HeyItsKelly1 i mean, it is an advantage seeing how you can only romance him if you're an elf
This is part of why I didn’t feel compelled to do a solance romance playthrough. The one with my inquisitor who romanced bull and wanted to be everyone’s best friend to a fault genuinely hung onto solas every word up till then cause it opened up so many more possibilities in his mind for how mages could have a better existence without everything go to shit. He was a human circle mage and the stuff they taught was so rigid and confined. This blew his mind. I watched videos of the romance and I appreciate what it adds but it’s not for me. Nothing’s gonna live up to the first playthrough before I knew the twists.
Even my pushover softie who listened to solas about just about everything chose the “stop him” choice instead of the “redeem him” choice. I still feel conflicted about that in hindsight, but I kind of like that ending for that friendship. Finally put his inquisifoot down and held true to personal ethics he’d compromised on through the whole game when under pressure.
Kinda wonder what that save state’ll do to my da4 file...
"I would treasure the chance to be wrong once again, my friend". This line hit me so hard. Not only does Solas/Fen"Harel" call you a friend. his emotion here shows part of him want's to be wrong. He doesn't want to do what he feels he must to restore the Elves. ;-;
Neither did the Architect but the difference is that the Architect learned from his mistakes and realized the grey wardens were the best chance for his people's survival. The Architect despite all the shady things he has done and all his mistakes realizes that the other races can coexist and he does not have to destroy the world but rather end future blights. He wishes to keep his subjects alive and rather than being evil he is curious and really does not know right from wrong but at the same time he realizes that as long as the blights continue all races including the darkspawn will suffer. Truthfully I think Solas is what someone like the Architect could have become if they failed to move on from the past and look toward the future. That is why I love the Architect in dragon age origins awakening a lot more.
The Architect is an interesting character and while i do believe he wants the best for his people... after reading The Calling... well for the sake of spoilers i wont say anything but lets just say he is always dead in my playthroughs
@@Bhoddisatva Exactly so darkspawn are by their own nature a plague, the blight is proof enough it corrupts everything it touches. So while i can relate to the architect on a many things and i honestly believe in him, i find him to be way too much of a loose card, besides giving the darkspawn an intelligent leader doesnt seem like a good idea
@@zacklint313 Agreed. For all his pretentions of rationality he and his darkspawn are still the products of their instincts. I don'
t trust them to control their instincts.
@@funnyblog100 The thing is that the darkspawn aren't even a race...they are twisted parodies of other races in thedas and are a literal living cancer a "blight" on the world they spread their disease whether they like it or not....the architect isn't as innocent as he plays either considering he lies to you...alot
1.He says he sent darkspawn to vigil's keep to request aid yet his followers attacked from the dungeons and kidnapped and murdered wardens not to mention the speaking darkspawn there intended to capture you
2.He says he doesn't take living wardens and yet you can find a living warden that has been abducted and had his kneecaps shattered in his hideout.
3.You can find his laboratory where you find out he is kidnapping people (like velanna's sister seranni) expirement on them and infect them with the taint.
Thats enough reasons to kill him even without knowing he tried to infect the entire world with the taint and that he is responsible for the fifth blight and probably all blights since he apparently is a goddamn TEVINTAR MAGISTER he is on the threat level of corypheus and i'm 100% sure he isn't dead even if you kill him.
Solas being Fen'Harel is one of the best plot twists in any video game. He almost slips up multiple times during the main game, so it didn't really come out of left field, either
Yeah, the closest he came to slipping up was after the main quest ‘Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts”, he mentions that he has missed court intrigue and when you ask him about it he backtracks and it’s the only time he ever disapproves of you asking a question.
@@yang6642 If you romance him I think he comes close to outright telling you too, but chickens out at the last minute and pretends he was gonna say something else.
Also all his knowledge about how to be a leader and run a resistance were pretty sus for loner who apparently just liked to spend majority of his time in the fade. I always like the convo he has with Sera about how she could turn the Red Jenny's into a major force to be reckoned with.
Playing through a second time with all of his blatant foreshadowing lines was a real treat lol. "Only an ally can betray you, and a betrayal is always worse" guy was begging to be found out lmao.
Cole also almost outs him during their banter!
@@PKFl4sh And he almost outs himself in banter too :) Relistened to Varric ones this week and he just straight up talks about the elven gods being mortal etc lmao
Just wait, it'll turn out that andraste was a blood mage all along.
+deathpyre42 I'm positive that she was a mage. As for blood magic.. who knows.
In the temple of sacred ashes there was a script that basically portrayed Andraste as an elven mage that communicated with spirits of the fade.
@@MrAlexanderLang Awesome! I missed that completely
Im not sure about the maker and all but: there was something special about her. Its not like she was the first magic user. They were fighting fucking Tevinter. The golden city existed and there are plenty of lore evidence but also deductive reasoning for this. There is a maker of some sort or form in almost every lore of the game. In a world that everything has pieces of truth to it: Old gods that are very important but we dont know why (i think that they were locked beneath the earth purposly to slow down the dark spawn.) Elves that have mostly half truths lore but also has a beginning of creation and thr Avvar who seems to be a more believable of everyone's.
What if andraste was solas sister in disguise or a fen harrell agent
I'm not too worried about losing my arm, Dagna could probably forge something to replace it. That'd be awesome actually
If a dwarf could make an anvil that can turn dwarves into golems, they can come up with some kind of replacement arm for the inquisitor lol.
Easiest thing for Knight-Enchanters. Make a prothesis, shove your spirit hilt in there. Bam, you're golden.
why just an arm? Could be an arm cannon... Or rocket punch... Or retractable blades... or chain-blade-sword.... or a hand puppet... or...
If you join the Red Jennies you actually get a crossbow prosthetic during the ending slide for Trespasser
So wait can magic not regrow limbs? That never seemed like a limit for DA's magic. I always thought a mage would find a way to regrow it.

“i would tresure the chance to be wrong once again my friend”
best bromance
That is one of the best lines in the whole series.
"Don't make me fight you" is probably the most hilarious way they could have phrased that option.
I wonder what Morrigan thinks about all of this that's going on. Does Solas even know she uses the Eluvians as well. Maybe they met at the crossroads, I imagine it would be an akward encounter. Especially after how she made sarcastic remarks when Solas was discussing anything to do with Elves. The shock of her realising Solas is Fen'Harel, haha. I hope we see her again in the next game.
+Amaan Mahmood Flemeth passes on her immortality from Mythal, to Morrigan
Kurt CoBane Really, I never knew that. But I thought Morrigan didnt want to take in Mythals soul.
That was a condition of Solas absorbing flemmeth, as long as flemmeth can pass on her immortality to Morrigan Solas could have her power if you remember the scene after Morrigan drinks from the well, she's connected to Mythal after doing that
Kurt CoBane Oh, so basically because Morrigan drank from the well, both Mythal and Flemeth passed their immortality onto her. Does this mean that Solas isnt allowed to harm Morrigan as well?
Can't say for sure, but you know Flemmeth, she'll have a plan, wether mythal is best friends with fen'harel or not, mythal cared about people, so she'll have a plan against him
4:51 "I lay in dark and dreaming sleep while countless wars and ages passed. I woke still weak a year before I joined you.
My people fell for what I did to strike the Evanuris down, but still some hope remains for restoration."
I don't know about you guys, but the rhythm this is spoke in sounds very poetic and melodic. It sounds like a poem about a tragic story.
+Rohver Sounds like iambic tetrameter to me.
+Rohver The voice actor Gareth David-Lloyd was doing marvelous work throughout the entire game, but damn! Saying he shines in this scene is such an understatement.
+ArashiGalaxy
pentameter.
+Rohver
solas speaks in iambic pentameter. he avoids contractions and also tends to speak in an eloquent way instead of simplifying it.
+Baked Potatoes Yeah, probably. Sounds like something from Shakespeare.
The game series has spent all this time making you face the unintended consequences of your actions. Then it introduces an antagonist who made the only decision he thought he could make long ago, and in so doing doomed the world he loved.
The game series impresses on you the idea that being a Tranquil is a fate worse than death, to the point that it doesn't seem terrible to put Tranquil out of their misery. Then it introduces an antagonist who sees all the world as Tranquil.
Well done!
Well the game failed to impress that idea on me then because the Tranquil don't seem that bad. It's only those who were forced upon for unjust reasons that makes me give sympathy to. Many, many people even today seek tranquility. Literal monks spending hours, days, weeks, years trying to achieve that perfect state of mind. And most if not all failing even when given entire lifetimes. So seeing people who have achieved that invokes some envy from me instead.
@@leoncoben6983 tranquility in DA is more akin to a lobotomy
@@leoncoben6983My guy, characters who were tranquil and then recovered said they would rather die than be tranquil. It is literally worse than death, and all your attempted real world equivalence is meaningless.
@@corneliaaurelli1603
Being possessed is worse than be tranquil
@@leoncoben6983 It doesn't mean "tranquility" though... did you play the games?
I think this will be the best antagonist ever in game. not only that he wants make his sins undone. i am sure he will feel guilty someday for the human world and maybe do the same thing again and so he enters in an endless circle of destruction and building. a tragic maker.
I can imagine that...
I love how he decides to save the Inquisitor, he has to know that they are the greatest chance Thedas has of stopping him, and yet he does one final kindness for a old friend even though it may seal his failure.
I dont think he's worried about a fight. Did you miss what he was capable of. casually by looking in any direction?
@@nelson_rebel3907yet, he needs to do a great deal of many things to achieve his goals.
I dont think its him under estimating the inquisitor.
Hence why he said: it would be easy to tell you too much.
Or
I would treasure the chance to be wronged by you again, my friend.
Hes confident but conflicted. he knows the inquisitor will be in his way. I guess he *wants* to be proven wrong, his values somewhat changed but he's ultimately stoic about his decision and the likeliness of him winning.
Looking at the many dreadwolf trailers...he seems to succeed.
You know, Javik and Solas are actually quite similar. Both are relics of a time long past and both of them also expressed disappointments regarding what has become of the world upon their awakening. In fact, I believe Liara once said to Shepard that Javik would gladly sacrifice the people of today's galaxy if it means bringing his people back.
"YOU WERE MY BROTHER ANAKIN!" Oh dragon age 4 is gonna be a doosy
Well😂😂😂
It sure was! A huge steaming pile of doozy.
With all the betrayal and tragedy so deeply entrenched in Solas' character, I can't help but see him as a Shakespeare-esque villain, who's arc can't end in a way that isn't tragic. His quest will likely tear him apart, and ultimately, there may not be a way for you to save him, his people, and Thedas all at once.
Am I the only one who doesn't want to kill Solas and even want to see the Veil torn down? Or a peaceful coexistence? Or talk him down?
+Norina F No you are not. There are some people including me that agree with you. I want to save Solas.
+Norina F
You're not alone. We did prove him wrong once, we can do that again.
+Norina F I'm at this weird mix where the number one thing I was is to save the situation and bring him back. The second option I would choose, and would most likely give my a huge deal of satisfaction, killing the fucker. Brutally. When my besties turn to bastards I am not a happy inquisitor. Unless you do it in the more literal sense, Like Alistair did xD
I just dont understand why tearing the veil down would destroy the world, would it not bring it back to what it should be?
Not to mention that it will bring back the Elven gods and might demand his shiny egg head. Wonder what will Solas do...
Is it okay that I found this more emotionally impactful than the romance one?
Yep. I played first as F Lavellan, romanced him, then did it as a M Trevelyan. The 'my friend ' line hits different. Its respect, despite his previous bias. It's an earned moment, and I loved that.
... playing a character that's basically like 'dude, shut up' is hilarious though.
11:20
Cullen: That was our only map
Inquisitor: I know that.
Cullen: Jeff stayed up all night making it.
Inquisitor: I was just trying to set the mood!
What I love about Solas is that he feels like a DA protagonist himself.
No different than the Hero of Ferelden, Hawke and The Inquisitor.
He made the best decisions he could under the worst of circumstances.
He fought a war to free his people from the self-proclaimed elven gods and once they took things too far by murdering Mythal, or the equivalent of that since we know the Ancient Elves were outright immortal, he created the Veil and banished them on the other side. Then with his powers spent and having no wish to rule the now free Elves, he disappeared and slept for centuries.
He had no way of knowing that:
A) The Elves, most of which had spent their lives as slaves and just wanted to be free, would turn on each other in a bloody civil war that destroyed their civilisation.
B) That the Veil would effectively cut off most people's connection to the Fade, effectively creating a *whole world* of Tranquil in comparison to the Ancient Elves
And to add insult to injury, the Elves would regress and forget so much of their own history that the false elven gods are immortalised while Solas is villified as *The Dread Wolf* a trickster and a devil of elven lore.
A hero who is remembered only as a boogeyman.
So when we meet Solas here again, knowing his history and knowing how he feels that he just made everything a thousand times worse than if he had done nothing at all is kinda tragic.
And the fact that, if you become Solas's friend throughout the main game, Solas feels legitimately conflicted about his intentions just adds so much to his character.
He hopes, he *wishes* the Inquisitor can prove him wrong because he's grown to respect them. Because unlike most others he doesn't see them as a shadow, a Tranquil , they are somene he *respects* for their curiosity, open-mindedness and the desire to preserve and remember history so that the same mistakes won't be repeated.
And ,even more than that, he sees the Inquisitor as a *FRIEND*
Something all his planning didn't account for, because he didn't even think it was possible.
Despite the polarising opinions people have on whether they like Solas or not, I think we can all agree that he is literally the most well crafted antagonist in Bioware's history and one of the best in video game history.
Beautifully written, Solas is definitely the most captivating character Bioware has written so far. I'm nervous and yet eager for what DA4 will bring.
I think when the Inquisitor says ``Then we will find people he doesn't know´´, they mean the protagonist in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. So yeah we will probably be working directly for the Inquisitor as their Agent.
Just notiested that in the end on the map, lower right from the dagger, the is a dot signed as Solas.
Have a city with name like yours..Best place to hide ever X))
''I had plans'' was such an epic line.
I NEED DA4 NOW PLEASE.
I feel the same way
+Giannis k. True
+Alana Vee (hxcfairy) It would be just thrilling to have all 3 of DA universe heroes united in DA 4, to have your Warden, Hawke and the Inquisitor together, fighting Solas :)
+alekselektra that would be awesome to have them fight together. but I finally convinced myself the HoF will never be seen.
+Giannis k. i love DA2 personally
Anyone else suddenly remebered Morrigan's goodbye in Origins? "Live well, my friend. Live gloriously."
Solas asks you to take his hand. Your hand gets taken instead. XD
He should've said "give me your hand" hahah
This. All of this. That last shot of Cassandra, Inky, Cullen, Harding and Leliana, is who should have been the main cast for DAV. Yeah, sure 10 years passed but a direct continuation of that ending shot should have been the game we got with everyone staying true to character. I will forever be mad we got Vailguard instead of the Dreadwolf.
YES .😢 if you read the comics of the initial project designed for the fourth chapter you understand when it was better than veilguard
The art book shows what that plan originally was and it kills me. I am living the delulu cope in fanfic.
"I am not Corypheus."
Sure your motivations are different, but your methods are the same altogether.
"When the sun sets were both the same out of the shadows out in flame"
+Caio Trubat he is referring to that he takes no joy in his plans after experiencing the value in this world.
+B. Oliveira Yeah. Corypheus wanted to fix what he thought was wrong with the world. Solas wants to destroy it altogether.
+Macder10 Doesn't fucking make it alright. That'd be like saying Handsome Jack is a good guy because he wants to "help" Pandora. If Solas *truly* didn't want to hurt anyone, he'd drop the whole thing and leave the false gods banished where they are.
I think you got it backards...
"when all fail amputate" surgeon at skyhold
Is anyone else having a flashback about Sandal's vision from DA 2?
K-Fro Beyotch more like a flashbact of anders blowing up the chantry
I'm so emotional right now. Solas, why do you need to ruin peoples lives so gracefully?
Because every other option was worse
Because the other option was allowing the evil gods to destroy the entire world. Not just elven society. Of course it was impossible to forsee the rise of humans. That was never part of the plan. That is the piece he wants to fix.
@@099Nitro I disagree. I don't think it's the rise of man that distresses him so much, moreso the treatment of spirits and how everyone is now disconnected from the fade. You don't need to tear down the veil to help the elves and unseat the humans from power. You do if you want reconnect everyone to the fade and allow spirits to return to their natural state (in fact, the two may be one and the same).
I'm sorry but I can't stop laughing at _[Attack him]_
That last line was totally a reference to the protagonist of The VeilGuard. "Find people he doesn't know." "Someone they won't ever see coming."
Honestly, I thought my Lavellan wasn't going to get along with him, but then he started calling her Lethallan, and it hit me: they're probably really good friends, maybe even best. She probably even sees him like an older brother or mentor.
Why do i feel like this is a better talk than when you are in a relationship with him?
The slight trembling in his words all the way through is KILLING ME. Especially after playing the Solavellan route. The grief, the regret. You BELIEVE he doesn't want to do that, not just postures. Man, Dragon Age is such a great series, Inquisition especially.
I love the conundrum of Solas meaning Pride in the Elven language and he took pride in being called Fen'Harel. With his connection to other spirits, especially Wisdom and Faith, I wonder if maybe he is a lot more like Cole and that he is actually formed from a Pride demon. Pride demons are corrupted Faith and Wisdom spirits. just food for thought lol
I am quite torn with the Trespasser DLC ending. My Inquisitor has been trying to promote equality for the oppressed, especially mages and elves, only for my wisest companion and best mate to want to destroy the world. I don't want to fight against the elves, and I actually would want to join them to reclaim their glory or establish their own kingdom but destroying the world is still a no-no. Fuck
I knew the elven gods where just mages, I knew it
Daniel Pahman just like the tevinter old gods were mages that stormed the golden city
+Tristan Riffle No, the Tevinter mages who stormed the golden city were priests of the Old Gods, Corypheus was The Conductor of Silence, a priest for Dumat, The Architect was The Architect of Beauty for Urthemiel.
Very fucking powerful elven mages. And one of them created the Veil.
And the Magisters were said to have blood sacrificed seven-hundred elven slaves in order for it to have worked.
Elven mages so powerful that the difference between them and what you would call a 'god' is irrelevant. At least to anybody on a merely human, or dwarven, elven, or qunari scale.
"War breeds fear. Fear breeds a desire for simplicity." Damn that line is actually hard as shit
This is some Naruto Sasuke shit going on here, only better written.
jdgjordan exactly what I was thinking
True
Not really. Solas is far ahead of the game here.
Hes practically invincible really
lol
Not exactly, if someone would defeat Solas, it would be the new protagonist of Dragonage 4. Inquisitor would probably play the role of Hawke in next dragon age game.
Solas mentioned a war leading to the Evanuris being seen as God's...
War against who... or what? Makes me shudder to think of something worse lying in wait.
my guess is the Evanuris went to war with the titans and through that war they became gods
War against the Old Gods? Perhaps that esplain why the Old Gods are sealed in the Deep Roads.
Let's fucking kill the Maker himself. Level up your game, Bioware
Morrigan mention that the Elves were in war with themselves, not with humans. That ´´we misunderstood everything``. that happens in a cut scene in Skyhold after she drinks off the well of sorrows.
@Negasso Kadir we know for a fact Dwarves had little free will. They were servants of the Titans. Their children but part of this hive mind. When they were killed by Mythal and company, they were freed so to speak.
Ugh I hope they release the music. I think the song playing for this scene is so beautiful...
"They killed Mythal...a crime for which an eternity of torment is the only fitting punishment." You don't say.
Jesus Christ it's 2021 and I'm still choking up whenever I see this scene
“War breeds fear. Fear breeds a desire for simplicity. Right and wrong. Good and bad. Chains of simplicity”
Whoa…
6 years have passed. Yet it feels so recent....
so dragon age 4 will take place in the Imperium? SWEET! always wanted to knock those magisters down a peg or five.
And maybe the Anderfels, to Weisshupt! See what the wardens are doing since we haven't heard from them since
demonangel918 yeah maybe! and maybe run into hawke again! if he survives Adamant he goes to Weisshaupt and tears shit up according to Varric
Its gonna end up something weird like, we help stop the hundred year war between tevinter and par vollen, make the qunari and magisters work together and pull all effort into murdering solas
@@demonangel918 great news. it takes place in tevinter, the anderfels (weisshaupt), and more! so you got it right
@@7PlayingWithFire7 holy shit I was right…
"I destroyed the world trying to save my people because they killed Mythal. I see now that this was a mistake, so I've decided to kill Mythal and destroy the world in order to save my people."
Incredible logic, Gandalf the Bald. Truly a brilliant mind.
Priorities change overtime. Mythal is a fragment of what she once was, and Solas has seen the ultimate price of his old choices. Moreover Mythal - or whatever is left of her - made the sacrifice willingly.
Somehow this is far more touching and tear-jerking than the romance version. Like two blood-siblings bound by friendship forced to fight on opposite sides.
Also, +FluffyNinjaLlama, is this any different if you're an elven mage that didn't romance him? I always felt he still had a crush on my lady lavellan :3
It kinda makes you realize Corpheus and the war was the best case scenario.
So..the only way to stop the mark from killing us was to remove our own arm? Could be worse, still if one crazy dwarf managed to make Bianca image what they could cook up for the Inquisitor
Ohhhh.....Dagna!! :DD

Making an automail like Ed had from Fullmetal Alchemist, perhaps?
Maybe, maybe there'll be magic involved and you grow it back or something..still here's hoping for automail
+Beowulf I'm hoping various attachable daggers (my main inquisitor was a rogue.) Kind of like a pirate, only more deadly and badass :3
brit saunders Yeah that would be pretty badass, having a fully customizable arm for all your needs..of course if we're getting to develop our own attachments (if they're a thing) I'm totally developing a sword arm that doubles as a cane
I know every Dragon Age game has a new player character, and I like that. But still, with the way this ended I hope the next Dragon Age once again has the inquisitor as the player character.
Me too, the Inquisitor and this whole group of characters in general is so good I die
Agreed
Thing is if you remember the inquisitor lost his/her right arm In tresspaser DLC I don't know how combat effective the inquisitor would be in a 4th game especially if your inquisitor is an Archer or dual daggers fighter.
joseph swiger It would be fine if you're an archer, in one of the ending sliders (if you are a rogue and join the Red Jenny's) you will see the inquisitor with a crossbow prosthesis.
If you're a warrior you could probably get a prosthesis you can click/mount a shield on. If the inquisitor can get a crossbow-prosthesis then a shield-prosthesis doesn't seem so far fetched anymore.
As for mages, well they can basically summon a lightsaber out of their wrist, literally. (Knight enchanter ftw)
I've seen people who lost limbs do incredible things.
Edit: Here's the slider I meant: 3.bp.blogspot.com/-sFtSbYQDnXg/VfB_OmNNICI/AAAAAAAABuM/nstQXwVg0G8/s1600/EpilogueSlides_Sera2.jpg
***** Yes! The inquisitor, even without their arm, is totally capable of being a badass again
I will redeem you, you asshole! Finally finished this game after three dang years. Loved it.
In all seriousness, i really liked Solas. I imagine my rogue elf found his stories fascinating, and thought of him as a sort of Elder figure. He looked up to him, and hearing Solas say that he would destroy this world broke his heart a little. He will bring Solas around or die trying.
This is one of BioWare’s best twists. The last one was meeting Sovereign in Mass Effect
It's the Reapers all over again, man it might even be worse than that.
I say worse. The reapers was just a machine that needed to be shut down for good. This is a character I truly love and enjoyed and i want to convince him not to do it. If killing him is the only way then it will truly be a difficult decision to make
It's like a Reaper pretended to be human, only for you to find out it was Harbringer the entire time.
But the game seems to want us to be sympathetic to this "buT 1 d0n'T t4ke Pl3zuRe iN wHaT I mUsT d0" ahh traitor? Ridiculous. 😒
Here's my edit to the final scene.
Inquisitor: "Then we find people he doesn't know."
Inquisitor: "We will save our friend from himself. If we can."
Cassandra: "And if we can't?"
Inquisitor: ".....Then we give him peace....."
Knife to the map
Inquisitor: "We go to to Tervinter!!...."
End
Cassandra: "And if we can't?"
*Inquisitor slits his own throat with the knife*
End.
If Merrill is revealed to be an Agent of Fen'Harel in the next game i will personally destroy Bioware ;-;
Nah, she’s too pure and sweet for that
Lol
Solas would never use Merrill because she ,no offense to those who lover her I love her too, represents what solas doesn't like about the dalish
Welp hope none of y’all left Hawke in the fade
@@GenshinLover283 . She is not pure she is a blood mage, she haa always been idiotic. And definitely I can see her becoming an agent of Solas.
watching this is so sad after all these years...
In my game, Solas had high approval of my human warrior Inquisitor, but she was at the end of her tether, furious with him and determined to kill him. The dynamic was amazing
So basically Solas is on a whole other level of self-flogging that Blackwall couldn't dream to accomplish.
After all these years the only character who stayed in the corner of my mind was solace.
So it was Solas who killed Felassan at the end of "The Masked Empire" novel, for failing to get access to the Eluvians from Briala. Perhaps at the time, having just barely awoken from his slumber for a while, he still was open to the concept of punishing failure with death.
+Catalin Chirieac Felassan's empathy towards Briala and the city elves was a threat to his plans, so he killed him.
Honestly I love the friendship route with him and a human inquisitor more than any elf romance route. He believes the elves should be brought back to thier old glory even if it means the other races need to be gone but here's someone of another race he thinks lesser of actually caring about him and showing him kindness and friendship making him doubt what he feels like he must do and even seeming to value the inquisitor's friendship and a part of him even hoping for the inquisitor to prove him wrong. It hits harder than an elf route imo.
I hope in the next game we play as the inquisitor again. It would make it more impactful. I don't want to play as a new character that has no connection to Solas or anyone else.
If Solas was a romance option for a human female Inquisitor, I feel like that would’ve been the hardest hitting route of them all
Oh boy I got some good news for you
@@KKitana1995 What is it? Admittedly I haven't been keeping up with Dragon Age news lately lol.
@@theblackcatofchronoswell we will play as new character sadly, but our inquisitor will appear in the next game and we have to recreate them again and solas and other false gods will be the villain
@@bettercallmeki Yeah I do remember hearing that much before. They'll probably be treated like Hawke was in inquisition. It's a shame I would have liked a continuation of the inquisitor's story with Solas, maybe another confrontation between the two, but at least they'll still be around I guess.
DRAGON AGE 4 IS GOING TO BE FUCKING LIT
Holographic Games Just like your profile pic lmao
Any news or updates on that? I'm seriously wanting the next game now.
Cussundria Kneal All we know is that Dragon Age 4 has been confirmed to be in development.
Yeah they've started at least, I saw a post on Tumblr
This made me sad but in a different kind of way than the romanced conversation. This one sorta reminded me of meeting up with an old friend and hearing that they aren’t doing so well. To say the least in this case lol
If only your companions were here for this. I would pay to see their reactions, especially Vivenne and Dorian.
Bro at 10:00, this always gives me goosebumps and I almost tear up😪. I remember my character saying that phrase to Solas with a passion and hearing Solas is response was lowkey gangster... I miss the memories from this game
I don't know about the rest of you, but you know what I would have liked to see?
Solas's reaction to a HUMAN woman flirting with him...
The almost endless possibilities...
Think about that for a bit...
Seeing all this amazing buildup for dreadwolf to then only have it thrown away by the shitshow that is veilguard. Heartbreaking 💔😔
The is something about the descriptions of world before the Veil that remind me of Aboriginal Australian's Dreamtime.
Considering the aboriginal style of Elven artwork in Inquisition, that does not seem to be an accident.
Jjames763 Which Aboriginal art style would that be? As it doesn't look anything like any of the Australian Aboriginal art styles I've seen.
God, the writing was so good in this game. The dialogues were just beautiful. Sophisticated. I dont expect this coming back in DAV. So far dialogues felt much more simple in all the showcases we have seen. Not on the same level as DAI. It breaks my heart.
rewatching this after veilguard - wow we got so little in veilguard. I feel misled and robbed.
I feel like Solas has a very biased opinion of the Evanuris. He sounds like he gives Mythal far more credit than she deserves. I want another opinion, a man who's name means "Pride" can't be taken at 100% face value.
Obviously not, but can anyones? Who is without bias? And what does time do to those biases save strengthen them?
If you read some of the texts for the evanuris it will show you that some of the things they did were ghastly. Mythal treated her people not as slaves but as people who need help. The other evanuris ended up "killing" her. So there really isn't much leeway for the other evanuris to be anything less than what solas states.
Solas is already reminding me of Hades from Final Fantasy XIV because of his motivation to bring his people back. Let's hope the boss fight against Solas is just as hype
Who else is back here while counting down to Dragon Age Veilguard?
Damn Elves.
+The Ebony Warrior See? THIS is the sort of shit that makes me love the dwarves so much more.
+MrSpartan993 No Dwarves where I live. Only what they left behind.
+MrSpartan993 But what about the maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagical ones?
Pretty much. Elves: Dreams of godhood, where they keep destroying the world. Even when they like you, you still aren't of any real value to them.
Dwarves: Dig deep, mine gold. Make shiny stuff. Leave them alone and they'll do the same to you. Piss them off and they'll burn everything. Earn their loyalty and they will die for you.
Yeah, I'll take the dwarves.
Who got enslaved by human primatics shits that never rests and like to fuck everything they don't know about.
Frick, the music really HAMMERS the tragedy of all this.
"Because I am not a monster. If they must die, I would rather they die in comfort."
Behold: Solas - the King of Cap 🧢
The guy's lying out of his ass! He doesn't see anyone around him as a person! 😂
For a future dragon age here is what I want:
1. Tevinter shown with complex issues.
2. More varric.
3. Blood magic explored.
4. Returning characters from previous games.
5. Better jumping mechanics.
6. Better horse mechanics (even breath of the wild did that better).
7. Different origin stories like the 1st game.
thanks a lot---!
i finally got around to watching this! i thought seeing the romanced version is enough...but i saw this post on tumblr, where a person ahd made gifs comparing solas' expressions when talking with his friend and talking with his beloved. gave me so many feels, but also mad eme very curious. his expressions were different, clear for some lines, and slightly for others.
+Midori Can you link it please?
+Midori Nevermind, found it. Amazing!
it is amazing, isn't it! ah----my feels----!
+Midori I think Solas animator is a Solasmancer! :) I mean it's a beautiful thing, all his romance scenes are gorgeous, even when you just look at Solas & Lavellan walk side by side, it's precious, like they're constantly bumping shoulders and brushing their fingers together, it's a work of art. Those animations are also part of why Solavellan is so special.
yes, the attention they pay to detail is amazing! i'm totally glad they had pushed the relase date of the da:i release down, so as to enable us to have the solas romance, and by extension, the romantic dlc scene too! i truly applaud the passionate and skilled staff at bioware!
here's my theory :
1) if u chose to kill solas u need to disband the inquisition , so that he wont know ur plans and cant stop u.
2) if u choose to help him change his mind u need to keep the inquisition , so that he could know the good ur trying to accomplish.
just my take on it
That doesn’t sound like a bad theory to be honest.
Trespasser DLC was the best among all the DLC's in this game. Patrick Weeks did it again.
Usually I would dislike someone like Solas but he was my favorite character and it broke my heart to found out he was the cause of this. I can't bring myself to kill him. He's still have good in his heart. I hope I can change his mind
The music in this scene is terrific.
I think, personally, this segment is better than the romance one. It actually feels like you're on equal footing with him, if that makes sense. Reminds me of the time with that spirit friend of his.
Such a fascinating character. Love the music and visuals.
"They killed Mythal... The crime, for which eternity of endless torment is the only fitting punishment"...
And he intends to suffer it - if you romanced him and asked to join him, he actually reveals that there's "only one end to his journey" or smth along this line. His dearest friend came to him and died in his arms, entrusting him with both power and responsibility to make things right, compelling him to go on with his plan with her very life .. and of course he can't help but blame himself so much more now... The tragedy of this man
They sold me the ending of the game for a separate price tag in the DLC.
And God, how I love it.
After veilguard I am so dissatisfied, tevinter is not explored, there is no archon, the black divine, the magisterium, slavery, racism with the elves, dorian is wasted, there is no war with the qunari, now the bad guys are only the ataam it's all so simplified. The Evanuris are ridiculous enemies, they have the personality of a bad marvel movie, the choices of the previous dragon age are irrelevant and characters like morrigan are cameos without their personality... the writing has standards and good writing requires talent, veilguard for me is not the sequel to inquisition, it's a fanfiction that wastes a potential because bioware is no longer bioware.
Yeah, honestly i enjoyed veilguard for what it was, but looking back on what we were set up for: its disappointing as fuck
Live well, while time remains.
"Shivers"
1:23 INQUISITOR: Actually, I'm just going to kill you right here and now, if that's okay with you.
SOLAS: Nuh-uh. Bioware says you can't.
INQUISITOR: Bioware says a lot of things.
They both just look to the camera for a couple seconds
I'm still so disappointed that they sold this as a DLC instead of including it in the original game, because it basically explains everything. It explains more about the anchor and basically everything you wanted to know after being left with a cliffhanger concerning Solas at the end of the main game. This is the ending that the main game deserved because it just ties everything together. It basically sets the plot for the next game and it's kinda shitty to put that into a DLC. Also I'm especially bitter that I'll never be able to experience it myself, as the only platform I can play Inquisition on is my PS3 for which they didn't even release Trespasser lmao.
I love the complexity, the nuance of this character. I can't wait for the next installment
So Trespasser sets up a future DA game where Solas is the antagonist and it takes place in Tevinter? If Dorian is the leader I approve.
