Big fan of the original Rivers of Light but I am clueless what this is exactly... It feels and looks like the heart/essence has been ripped out of the show.
I hate that they changed this show. I loved the original. It doesn’t have the same nice flow it used to. It feels tacky like the Disney animal characters had to be just thrown in here and there. I also loved the we are one song and they just chopped it in half to put Disney characters in where they don’t fit. I’ll admit some new effects are really cool but compared to the last version this one is no were near as good. Why can’t we just have one show in Disney that isn’t surrounded by Disney characters we had illuminations but hey their getting rid of that too.
The added Disney music and scenes do not blend well with the rest of the show. I like the added colorful projections but the show still lacks cohesiveness. If they wanted to add Disney characters and music in they should of started from scratch because this is a band aid on a water pipe leak.
I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but here it is. I think this is amazing. The IPs blend in very well with the theme of life that this show communicates. I know some of it is animation, not real life, but I think they did it in a tasteful way, while respecting the original rivers of light. I feel the emotion that this show conveys. Great job Disney, using IPs the correct way.

I really wish Disney just kept the original version of the show. The old show for some people said it was boring (which kinda was) but music wise, this version is so much worse. The transitions in this version is really confusing and the key changes were just weird. heres an example where they collide the peaceful music to the dramatic scene from the original show. 4:15 The original show, this segment was right after the first narration part and the transition was so good, since it was dramatic, and then it will slowly deescalate and have a fun part where people could dance and clap to. Then there is this scene where they play the original sound track for the next 7-10 minutes or so. Besides the new water features movement they did, it was literally the same. 9:52 At this part, the two vocalists, which are AMAZING, were cut in this scene. And not only that, they literally used the old soundtrack again, and skipped a whole section of the show. Disney, if you try to use the original soundtrack, at least keep it in order like before. At this next scene, they made this soooo bad, I think they brought back the male and female vocalists, who usually sings right after 10:59 , but this time they changed the lyrics, which was ok, but the transition to it was kinda weird which was why I disliked this part. At 9:52, it was the perfect part because the music calmed down, but in this version of the show, right after the calm scene, they played dramatic music and then the vocalist. HOLD UP IM NOT DONE YET 11:30 the male and female vocalists would then sing together saying theses lines " Touch the sea Feel the light Live the fullness of this life Sand and stone Flesh and bone We are one We are one, with the oceans Free to run, through the sunlight Everyone, pure as water Flowing in the wilderness We are one, in elation Sound the drum, a celebration Touch the Earth Feel the sun We are one Touch the Earth Feel the sun We are one" These lyrics are just beautiful, but they just stopped it and played this... You'll be in my heart. This is acceptable for me since its was beautiful with the projection and etc...and then they played this, which just got me mad again with the transitions. 12:05 Bare Necessities is a great song, I love it. Its just the way they played it. I know they tried to keep it like animal kingdom style, but it overall sounds like Bare Necessities with Aladin mixed together. FINALLY DISNEY, A TRANSITION THAT KIDNA WORKED. 12:38 They played the old soundtrack again, but they added these sound affects and Scar just walking down was pretty cool not going to lie. But of course, there is something wrong after that short scene. The music after from the original soundtrack was beautiful. The music was so epic, but in this version, I can still hear the melody of the original, but it doesn't sound as powerful. 13:50 YES YES YES, I love this part. The music and the vocalists sound so powerful and this may be the best part of the show. (wait...I just realized that this is from the original....MOVING ON) At 14:50 I can see Disney was trying their best to make a smooth transition back to the original soundtrack again, but it just wasn't that good. If you listen to it, there is a pretty big difference since it really sounds like two different music pieces being combined, which is happening. In my opinion, this part would be best using the original soundtrack since that violin part was in the original. Here we are at the finale...well...heres something i can talk about forever, but i'll shorten it. The narration is ok, but I preferred the original version. If you listen to the soundtrack of the original version, the narrator's voice was so powerful and it was just amazing. This version of the show, there is something lacking that i can't figure out. It might be the music. The finale song from the original was so beautiful with the vocalists singing, I got chills everywhere....this version...I don't even have words to describe how bad this was. Sure, we all know the music, but Disney should have just kept the original lyrics. Circle of Life just doesn't provide the powerful message from the original show. One of my favorite lines from the original was "We are stronger than we know, together" My overall review of this show would be a 4/10. I see what was Disney was doing to the show, to make this more appealing to children, but the finale song just doesn't have that message anymore and that amazing feel for an actual ending of a show. the music from the original was so powerful and the music just made me tear up. Also, WHERE ARE THOSE ACTORS OR PEOPLE THAT ARE IN THE BOATS DISNEY!!! In the finale, the ending of the show had people on the boats playing the drums with the music which just made it som much better. Now the boats are just empty with projection on the sails.

Disney always making things better, just like they did with Happily Ever After, the greatest fireworks show on earth! I've seen it like 200+ times recorded or live on RUclips. I can't wait for the new Epcot Forever show too! I bet it will be a huge upgrade from Illuminations, just like HEA from Wishes. They are changing every show from being kinda dull to being really entertaining, fun, colorful & amazing. The colors, characters/projections and classic Disney songs make these shows so much better. ✌🏻️ #DisneyDoesItBetterAndBetter
I don't live in Florida, but I saw this show when I went in April, and personally, this version of the show isn't that great, I loved the original, but I've never seen this in person, so I can't really give a full on opinion :/
This is my worst nightmare. I'd been looking forward to seeing this show for years, now I'm finally going in August and they ruin it like this... The new animal imagery they chose is so obviously less impactful and visually arresting I'm actually shocked they thought this was an improvement. Heartbroken rn. I'm too late. Feel like cancelling my Dessert Party now tbh.
There a beautiful song called We Are One in Disney catalog from the Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and that song is nowhere reflected in this show. Such a missed opportunity. Plus, the over-usage of projections in this show makes it a snooze. Do yourself a favor and go jump in the single riders line from Expedition Everest. You can probably cram in 4-5 rides while this goes on in the background, you won't miss a thing.

Adding Disney clips doesn’t make a show better and also changing the score, which In this one sounded like cheap mixes with iMovie sound effects.
