Much different compared to Ireland we just simply have to do a simple reverse around a corner which is very easy once you get the initial turn in point to not start out too wide before straightening up
The only way you're going to learn how to operate these vehicles is practice, practice, practice and practice some more. As an example, a 60' Articulated MAN Transit Bus take it off a fuel island and to the back row and BACK it into a standard width parking space 65' long and don't hit the fence at the back of the parking space. Did that daily for years. Or participate in a BusRodeo and have a REAL right hand turn into a bus stop and be within the 6" measurement for both front and rear tires on a single lane into a two lane and not cross into the opposing traffic lane with a 40' transit bus. I'm a retired transit bus mechanic and supervisor. LOVED the work.

You mentioned the marker on the final part of the reverse, but not that it should be level with your wing mirror when you stop,at least on a typical single decker.. Also start with a one and a quarter turn on the steering wheel as a guide.
The markers on our vehicles are specifically placed to make sure the vehicle is in the reversing area at the end of the exam. We don't count turns on steering purely because the approach can be in different places when they come up to the cones because of this if you teach counting turns the student can compromise yellow line at the beginning. 👍👍
I have heard that the DVSA are thinking of dropping the reversing exercise from the test. My opinion is that at most bus stations you have to reverse out of a bay. I have my bus test on the 10/11/2021 lol
Unfortunately Andro thats not correct, Instead of the DVSA assessing the reverse it will be assessed by the training provider. Still to the same standard.
That's a great question, I'm guessing. There cannot be too many guidelines on the ground. Having the cones gives the student a hazard to observe and avoid rather than following lines on the ground. Thank you so much 👍👍
A step by step video on how to reverse would much more beneficial. My instructor told me to do two dry steering, take one turn off when your one foot away from the yellow line and keep reversing until you see the cones
There are many different ways this can be taught but try steering can damage the concrete and put flat spots on the tyres so it is not something we teach. 👍👍👍

Hi Nithish, you need to apply to get your UK licence first. That can be done here >>> www.gov.uk/exchange-foreign-driving-licence
@@NationalDrivingCentre thank you NDC

Failed my PCV driving test today because of reversing. I had 1 minor throughout the test.
I asked my instructor for help with reversing yesterday due to lack of confidence and she said no.
Failed due to hitting the first cone ( lonely B cone)
I would advise more instructions and practice prior to the test. 👍👍
@@NationalDrivingCentre They have booked me another test for end of this week.
I tried the full lock method and messed up.
Will any examiners mark you down for leaving the engine running when you leave the cab to check the finish position?
When doing my Cat C it was drummed into me to turn the engine off whenever I left the cab so I feel uneasy about it?
Good practice to turn it off but as long as the handbrake is on and in neutral, you'll be fine 👍🏼
@@NationalDrivingCentre thanks for clearing this .... gives a lot confidence to know
