I remember when this movie first came out I read a great review. The reviewer went to see it with his young son. When it was over he asked his son if he liked it and his son was in awe and said something like, "It's exactly how I picture it in my head when I play with Lego!"
I agree reason why I like the Lego movie franchise it's teach the values of family just like how my Little Pony friendship is magic teaching friendship
Don't normally like 'lol random' type humor but it fits a setting where nearly every fictional character exists in Lego (and is Awesome). Take it from Captain Metalbeard; instructions are just guidelines anyway.
Meh, that's an overplayed saying...any style humor is good if done correctly
I absolutely LOVE this movie. It's one of those fun random movies that has a good message and a ton of entertainment. This is one of those movies that surprised me so much because when I first saw it I didn't expect much, but I was blown away. Really, really good movie and I love the reaction and the discussion

I figured this would be fun to watch but I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much! I really like when Will Ferrell does more serious characters too, I'm not a big fan of his humor all the time but I still think he's a great actor. Totally loved the animation style as well, how literally everything was Lego and even sound effects were made by the kid who was playing with them.

Finn told Emmet he was the hero, and Emmet moved on the table.
Hearing you reminisce about Lego before the show is why the show exists. Watch any of them, they are generally great.
Will Ferrell was one of the heroes of this movie. Just the moment when he realized that his son was so creative and talented, but had made him into the bad guy, because that was how Finn saw him. In just a few minutes of screen time, he made the whole movie make sense in such a meaningful way.
One of the greatest animated films of recent years
Fun fact, the program they used to animate and CGI this movie is the actual Lego program that Lego uses to design sets. Even though all the Legos look real in this movie, it was completely CGI.
I heard one thing about Lego bricks that really impressed me - the standard size of the bricks hasn't changed in decades and the quality control is such that a brick made today will still perfectly fit a brick made decades ago - all with that satisfying "snap" that we have all come to expect.
When I heard that I was really impressed. One might wonder how hard it is to make plastic parts that actually fit together. Well, a few years ago I was playing a newer edition of the classic "Battleship" game where you stick the plastic pegs into the holes. Half the pegs wouldn't fit into the holes and the other half fit loosely. Halfway through a game someone bumped the table we were playing on and a bunch of the pegs fell out of their hole. Totally useless!
While a lot of the animation is CG, they went to the effort of putting fingerprint marks on the lego to make it look more realistic
Fun Fact: the movie’s animation is mostly computer animated while some of it is stop motion
