It was quite the day out in the Wapta Icefield on day 4 of our Canadian Rockies roadtrip! We set off to hike to Berg Lake via Bow Lake but ended up accidentally summitting The Onion! How did we end up doing that!? I've heard people get lost trying to find The Onion and here we are finding it accidentally LOL!
Last time we travelled to Alberta, we tried to hike to Berg Lake but took a wrong turn and ended up at Bow Glacier Falls...This time we try again and we end up summitting a mountain....But it was totally worth it as the views are absolutely amazing! Over 800m elevation gain and 18km+ to reach the summit... Stay tuned for the next video as the adventure continues! (I am very late uploading videos...OOPS!) Till next time...Cheers!

I lived in Jasper for 40 Years and hiked every trail in Jasper Park except one, Moose Lake Trail which was a swamp on the East boundary.

I hope you get to go! It's definitely worth the trek. Would be even cooler to book the hut and stay in there for a night the scenery was amazing 👏 🤩 I didn't know about staying in the hut till we arrived. All the best

I've been to Berg Lake but it was the one at Mount Robson in B.C.

I was coaching you all the way up. Next time get proper footwear. Bring some moleskin in your pack. It was 1950 m to start.

Thank you so much for the support it is Appreciated! I bought hiking shoes once in Alberta since I forgot mine at home. I usually always wear hiking boots with ankle support. First time buying shoes instead of boots and let me tell ya...never again! I have never gotten blisters from any pair of hiking boots I've owned but these were a killer for sure... these weren't even cheap either they were from sportcheck! I've had walmart boots be better than these.. no good 👎
