First Solo Trip Guatemala Pt 2 PACAYA VOLCANO PUB CRAWL! Claro Sim Card Buy but Sickness Strikes..
Really nice description of the areas you visited. Could you please tell me when this video was taken?
It was taken in August. In these places it really depends on the year what kind of weather you will experience. One year can get snow in July in Alberta rockies and the next can be warm till September. Really different year to year. Just fYI of course 😁
This trail is on my bucket list! Looks like quite the trek but you made it!
I hope you get to go! It's definitely worth the trek. Would be even cooler to book the hut and stay in there for a night the scenery was amazing 👏 🤩 I didn't know about staying in the hut till we arrived. All the best
I was coaching you all the way up. Next time get proper footwear. Bring some moleskin in your pack. It was 1950 m to start.
Thank you so much for the support it is Appreciated! I bought hiking shoes once in Alberta since I forgot mine at home. I usually always wear hiking boots with ankle support. First time buying shoes instead of boots and let me tell ya...never again! I have never gotten blisters from any pair of hiking boots I've owned but these were a killer for sure... these weren't even cheap either they were from sportcheck! I've had walmart boots be better than these.. no good 👎
Reminds me of my back yard.
I lived in Jasper for 40 Years and hiked every trail in Jasper Park except one, Moose Lake Trail which was a swamp on the East boundary.
I've been to Berg Lake but it was the one at Mount Robson in B.C.
I hope to visit that lake as well next time I go out west. I just love the rockies ❤️
I have been up several times, looking forward to doing it again this summer
Me too love that hike
Súper aventura, me encantó el vídeo 😊
Muchas gracias amigo! apreciado!
No puedo esperar a volver a Costa Rica ❤️
How rough was route 239? I've read it's very bumby and uncomfortable in some/most parts. I plan to using that ruote driving back to San Jose in about a week
It was rough at times but not as bad as I thought it was going to be actually. It does take more time to get to the other side than taking the highway but it was 100% worth it! If you're starting the road from finca la palma the first hill up I believe is really uneven half pavement half dirt with ruts but after that its bumpy but very doable even in a car IMO.😁 If its raining a lot and theres lots of mud then use caution
It could be a lot riper the soursop. Almost black outside. Do a milkshake with soursop or an ice cream I love tubing
Thank you for the suggestion! I will definitely try it. Is it sweeter if it is darker?
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom a LOT sweeter it tastes like ice cream
I will definitely try it again thanks
Bienbeue au Guatemala
Muchas gracias! Me gusta Guatemala!
Yes the driver must speak basic English
Yes he did but very very minimally. Not even the hotel people in Guatemala city spoke English(or so they claimed)... luckily I know enough Spanish to have basic conversations and to get around I didn't mind that they didn't speak English it actually encouraged me to practice my spanish 😁😁😁
Antigua Guatemala s safety city, Guatemala city is dangerous at night
Yes I felt really safe in Antigua and can definitely see how the city would be dangerous. What a vibe!
Such a lovely upload my friend.
Thank you so much definitely appreciated!
Thanks for taking us along! This is the kind of channels that get me motivated to do more boating/fishing/camping! :)
Absolutely my pleasure! Glad to get anyone motivated for the great outdoors and this is definitely a great campsite if you ever get the chance to visit. Appreciate the support thank you so much!
Lovely location...😊 take care...😊
Thanks a lot 😊 Appreciated!
Awesome video and location... I just came across your channel by chance and decided to watch it.. I subscribed already..😊 take care...😊😊
Thank you so much for your kindness! It definitely was a beautiful campsite I hope you get to visit one day 😁

😮ПОтрясающе! Молодец🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ класное видео и путешествие!
Thank you so much! Greatly appreciated😁👍
Great video. Sorry about the phone. That really sucks. Maybe it'll find it's way home one day. Cheers.
Thank you so much! Thankfully he had insurance and was able to get his phone replaced so that's good I suppose 😁👍
🙃 *promo sm*
Do you think you were just experiencing altitude sickness?
I think it was due to me actually coming down with a nasty flu before I left for Guatemala. It didn't hit me very hard till I got back but I highly doubt it was altitude as altitude sickness typically only starts higher than 2000m and Antigua is 1500m.
What time does the train go by
Hi what date of May did u travel?
Hello! We went May 12th till the 29th 👍
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom thnk u, and u went all the way to westfjord in 2 wd no problem in May ?
@@chalidalimjeerajarus8068 yes it was no problem at all except going to minnibakki beach I dont recommend going down there unless you're very confident in your driving. We almost got stuck at the beach but thankfully made it out. Everywhere else was dry and good to go. 👍 They are paving the westfjords now and at least 1/4 of the roads were paved when we went and probably much more now as well.
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom will be there at end of May. Thnks for the tips!
@@chalidalimjeerajarus8068 you'll have the best time! 😊
Stunning Glymur ❤ This is where a drone really comes in handy.
Yes it was so magical! I was kinda afraid of losing the drone though tbh because of the canyon and all the birds. It was definitely worth the risk though 😁👍 definitely top 3 in all of Iceland epic Glymur ❤❤
Another great vlog. You really go for it which is fantastic. Definitely going to visit this canyon in May. Have been to Hengifoss and it’s one of my favourite waterfalls.
Thank you so much for your kind words I definitely try to see and do as much as possible when I am exploring. Wish I could keep going back it's just magical in Iceland. Coming from Canada though its very $$$$$ as Canadian dollars don't translate well to the Icelandic Krona. I am determined to go back though one day to explore the highlands
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom yes Icelands expensive for sure, but worth it for the experience. I’ve done both Campervan and car with Air BnB on my trips there. They both have pros and cons. You can do Iceland on a kinda budget. I don’t really do the excursions and do mostly self catering which saves a bit.
I'll check out the air bnbs thanks! I definitely loved the campervan experience though it's my favorite kind of trip so far 👍
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom agree a canpervan is probably the best way of seeing Iceland due to being flexible with where you stop. I did the ring road in a smaller camper than yours but it was still great for me and my gf.
@@welshlad6427 i planned on doing a smaller campervan but since we were there for 17 days and my bf is 6ft tall I upgraded to the high top. Definitely worth it but either way any campervan will do 😁👍
Great adventure it certainly was. Love the canyon walk with the 3 waterfalls. I’m heading to Iceland in May for my 6th visit and looking for new things to see. Think I will check this out. Thanks for posting ❤🇮🇸
It's definitely not a well known touristy spot and it was absolutely amazing! Don't know why more people don't go there but that's fine with me as we had it all to ourselves... take the trail down to the riverside to get up close with the second waterfall 👍 Just make sure not to cross the bridge with your car as it cannot support it just park in the parking lot on the right side. Hope you have the best time in Iceland I cannot wait to go back one day😁
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom thanks for the info ℹ️ 👍
Great info for the shitter lol!
Figured someone might want you know Lol!
Hi. Liked your video. I'm planning to visit Guatemala maybe next year and would like to visit Pacaya and Acatenango volcanos. Just a question,. How long takes to make this hike from the entrance to the pizza place? Thanks for the video.
I didn't end up doing the Acetenango hike due to my illness but the Pacaya hike took around 50 minutes to an hour to climb up. Hope that helps and hope you have the best time in beautiful Guatemala! Acetenango is definitely much harder and I have heard that Acetenango takes 5 to 6 hours to climb 👍
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom thanks for the info. Maybe next time for the Acatenango.
@@hookedontube indeed!

Yo soy de Canada 😁
Gracias por visitar mi país saludos 🤗
De nada mi amigo! Tu país es muy bonito y impresionante! 😁
Yo hablo español bueno?
Muy buen español lo escribes muy claro felicidades 👏 👍
👍👍🇬🇹🇬🇹🇬🇹♥️
Awesome video, thanks for sharing your experience getting to these places 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you so much for your nice comment and you're definitely welcome. Hope you get to go enjoy that amazing beautiful country!
People there should be able to speak a little bit of English if they have to carry people to Antigua or some touristic places 🇬🇹👌...
The people at Selina hostel in Antigua definitely spoke English but everyone else I communicated with including uber drivers and restaurants and even hotels in Guatemala city claimed to not speak English or spoke very little. Little to the point that it would've been difficult to communicate if I didn't know some Spanish. I actually enjoyed it though because I was able to practice my Spanish and better my skills 👍😁 I absolutely adore Spanish and hope to be more fluent in the future. Can't wait to go back to Guatemala
♥️♥️♥️👍
Welcome to Guatemala 🇬🇹 ♥️
Thank you very much!! Guatemala is such a wonderful beautiful country can't wait to be back 😃

How nice to know our drone has company. It seems to have drowned almost at the same place :D
Luckily we didnt end losing it as somehow freakishly instead of falling into the water it regained itself and flew over the wall crashing into the dirt on the other side. It's definitely retired now though because of that...We were so lucky as the drone had all the footage so far for the trip that I had forgotten to back up... lesson learned for sure! 🤦♀️🤦♀️ Sorry to hear you lost yours it is a very dangerous area for drones it seems with the weird wind channels
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom Ours flew directly into the wall on the other side (why do they call it smart features, this wasn't smart) and dropped into the water. I swam in the canyon to try and see if we can recover it, but no chance.
@Hike For Happiness oh wow! You actually went in the water!? Dedication at its best must have been freezing. Was the water as brown and rushing as when we were there? It'd be scary to jump in the current would definitely take me down! Hopefully you didn't lose too much footage. You're definitely right, the drones arent that smart lol! Studlagil canyon should be renamed to drone's death valley XD
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom it was stll nice and milky blue. You can actually see it in one of our most recent videos (Geothermal activity...). It was freezing and I was shivering for the entire evening, but I lost a lot of footage. 5 day of footage to be exact. I didn't move any footage off the drone. One mistake I am not going to make again.
Awe that sucks so bad sorry that happened at least you tried! I will have to check out your video. We went during spring so I guess all the glacial and snow melt caused the waters to be higher and muddier than in summer. Still magical though and definitely worth it!
Fantastic. Did you visit Hofsós and the coast around to Akureyri ? Just returned and started watching Entrapped on Netflix. Couldn't believe that it's set in Siglifjordur where we'd stayed 2 nights earlier.
Yes hofsos was absolutely amazing! We were blessed to be able to visit the entire island minus the highlands during this trip. Dalvik north of Akureyri has to be one of the most beautiful places in all of Iceland... I have a playlist with all our adventures through Iceland if you're interested! Did you guys make any videos in Iceland? Feel free to link some here I love Iceland!
@@Travel.Equals.Freedom no videos as such. Really loving yours though. I think your natural pools are much more fun than the commercial ones. We've only done Seljavalalaug on the south coast which was great, especially when it started snowing while we were in it. Keep them coming 👍🏻
MyLifeAdventures! that is superb video-work,👐
Thank you so much! Highly appreciated :)
Did you cross the bridge?
Cant say for sure could've taken a boat 😂🤔🤭🤫 Have you done this hike? If so, did you take the bridge?
HOME!!!! ❤️ love the video! Well done sunshine! Haven’t been up there in 30 years!
Thank you very much!
Mom grew up there, spent some summers there, great fishing, great camping,, last time there i was alot younger,
That's awesome
OMG! Amazing!
Thank you very much! Hopefully I am improving over time :)
Nice video! Did you guys book the trip in advance or wait till you got to cusco to book? Looking to book the same company.
Thank you very much! We booked literally the day before going lol I dont recommend that but I wanted to shop around and didnt trust giving them my money online for some reason. We paid for our tour, waited some hours for the meet up to explain everything and for them to get our info, and then it was off to trekking the next day as I guess they managed to squeeze our group together. The only positive thing about booking last minute I found (and that might of not been the reason) was our group was small. 8 people including the guide! Most groups were 12-16 people so it was nice to only have 7. Keeping in mind for this company the max ppl is 10. You're gonna love it!
Great video 👍🏼👍🏼 I subscribe 😊😊🔔
Thank you 🤗
Beautiful takes and sites, some would make great Christmas cards.
I think so too! Thanks for the comment!
Is this real life?
It definitely is if you're ever in the area or live in the area I highly suggest not only summer hiking but winter hiking. The beauty is beyond this world and a lot of people miss out because they don't hike in winter. Hope you make it here one day!
