Took your advice and kicked PA to the curb after nearly a 5 month wait and called Tony up at Talon Tunes. He answered right away and I will be in possession of a Maverick Compact in a couple of days and a sniper barrel kit coming from Airgun Depot.

Strap goes over head and around 1 shoulder to place rifle carry on your chest to easy carry or shoot with while attached. I use them alomost twice a week when I back pack into woods and jungle to my leaner stands here in Florida. It makes any weight rifle manageable with 1 or no hands and easy to shoulder butstock to shoot instantly.. Frees up your hands to range or scope while walking.. Best hunting carry device ever made.

have the same gun and actually have a pard 008 on it as well. It's my night gun and have a m3 with a nexus on it coming. The pard makes it light compared and I have bipods on them. At one time had the titan on the maverick and that was getting on the heavy side. The best way to hold them is upright so it's facing toward sky. easier on the wrist.

This longer barrel should clear the DonnyFL FX moderator that I already have and the 480 cc carbon fiber bottler that I am planning to buy to upgrade and replace the smaller 400cc aluminum bottle that comes with the VP model 👍😉. The other option is to buy the European version called the Maverick “standard” that already comes with the 480cc carbon fiber bottle from the factory and its not restricted if you buy it from Spain NOT from the UK that comes restricted and only aloud to use them with sub 12 pounds of energy. European airguns from Spain have them in stock and ready to be shipped to the any place in the states.
good review my friend, as a Maverick compact .22 owner I recognize what you say. Although I love this gun, I cannot help but find it "delicate". That's the only reason why I bought te compact so the shorter barrel makes the gun more rigid and can handle a "bump". I also added a carbon liner to firm things up even more. I have the Leshiy 2 in .30 and it's bilt quality is of another level. Not as accurate but very stirdy.
@@midwestairgunner8500 I see no difference because I don't shoot groups. I only shoot a few pellets in paper to zero my scope. It's not my thing to shoot at paper with a 2500 Euro air gun. I also don't like to hunt animals (big or small) the only thing I want from an air gun is to be able to hit 2 inch targets at 65 yards maybe to a 100 yards. I like to shoot at things that pulverize or shatter 😜So I'm not the one for the best advice my friend. Adding the carbon sleeve was just to make the gun more rigid. Not that I'm beating up my guns but when a gun falls over or I accidentally hit a branch with it, it should hold zero, period! Yes you can go 100% Matt Dubber and shoot squirrels, pigeons and groundhogs at 150 yards from an open wide space, but that's not my thing. I don't hunt animals at all. Look up a video called "EDgun Stalker Land Cruiser crash test". Not that you should treat your gun like this or that every gun should hold up this kinda abuse, but I would like to see the manufacturers focus more on rigidity.

Looks like u have the Donny for sumo blocking the 480cc bottle. If u try the tanto it will work with the big bottle. Sumo is 1.6” dia and the tanto is 1.22” dia. Just fyi

So...this may be long winded but you asked. I record with the Dreamline in winter as that is my starlings in the barns gun. They roost in the barns in winter so the Pard goes on the Dreamline until spring. I purchased the Wildcat in .25 and wanted to see how it shot at the dairy besides getting all the raccoons. So the Pard went on that one from June until October. I only used the Wildcat 2x at the dairy's but got a lot of video, that is why the videos of the Wildcat. The Maverick is my favorite dairy farm gun and I used it all last summer - but no video due to the Wildcat. This summer you should see more with the Maverick.... ☺
Thanks for a great video. I am new to PCP air rifles. Questions, when not use, do you release the air from your Maverick so the internals are not under pressure? Also, I do not understand what the 21.50mm hammer spring setting? I know you can adjust the screw under the setting wheel and adjust the number on the wheel. Thanks!
Thanks Happy Camper for the comments. No, you never release all the air as that would allow the O-rings to move around and possibly not seal the next time you fill. As for the hammer spring adjustment, you can adjust that thru the power wheel at the back, but you never know what it actually measures unless you take it apart. If you do want to go back to your factory setting that is the overall length of the adjustment screw.
Beatiful compact. I love any compact PCP. I own a EDGUN Leyla and Leshyi. Its just way more convenient having small compact guns when hunting. Very nice Maverick my friend, and the Pard is a dynamite scope, I was gonna buy the Pard, but then I decided to but the Delta Striker HD.
@@midwestairgunner8500 I love it the glass is crystal clear with such a big wide view, but most of all the center of the reticle lights up as a red dot with like 10 brightness levels. Just have to put that red dot on target and boom its down.
The very first two were as follows. Introduction thru a neighbor to get me permission. The second one I stopped on the road while the farmer was coming by on his tractor and spoke to him about all the birds on his farm. After that it has been them getting me access with other farmers they know.....
I like the .22 more than the .25. Yes, I have shot slugs and they shot fine. As most of my shots are 50 yds or less, I saw no need to spend $0.10 per shot on a bird. Regular pellets at $0.04 were just as good...

IT is an ok gun. The weight is still a major issue. 8lbs in this small package is heavy. Scope's weighing between 1.5 and 1.8 lbs really adds to it. I added the 1 point sling and that helped to carry it around the barns. My Dreamline is a better gun to weight ratio. Would I buy it again? Probably not.

@@markstreight939 I used to limit my use of the .22 in the barns to only if my shots were longer than 50 yds and/or if there was a steel backstop behind the birds. Now that I have found the H&N Hunters, they allow me to shoot without worrying about going thru the roofs or sides. Of course if you miss, that is a different story. 😬 I was going to get the wildcat, but not enough shots per fill.

I did purchase a 1 point sling attachment and it works extremely well. So much easier to carry around now.
Donny makes multiple models. The Tanto and KOI are 1.22 diameter and fit with the longer bottle.

You might try the early style ‘ pull out barrel shroud’ that early FX rifles had.Then you can use the big bottle.
A friend of mine has that on his Impact which is an awesome shroud. Didn't know they came separate.

You could use a narrower suppressor.

Utah Airguns only charged me a $300 deposit. My Maverick came in within 2 weeks and I paid the balance and gun was tuned and shipped.
