F-86A-5 Sabre vs MiG-15 | War Thunder Duel

The F-86A-5 Sabre is the first variant of the Sabre and can be quite the tough opponent. Although the A-5 lacks good engine power, the leading edge wing slats make the aircraft a lot more maneuverable and thus a very challenging adversary. The MiG-15 on the other hand holds an advantage in its ability to rate fight extremely well. The MiG-15 also has a much better engine, but lacks in the firepower and roll rate department seen throughout the duels.

Sabres are very good at rolling scissors. But when a Mig starts to rate turn fight you, then you're in big big trouble. The first US rate turn fighter jet was the F8U Crusader.

As a well experienced veteran MiG pilot and Sabre Pilot. What I see mostly is Sabre pilots always trying to fight MiGs for the Vertical rather than the roll. Also, extremely dangerous for a MiG-15 to fight a Sabre at low alt. Nevertheless, the MiG-15 pilot at first was a little shakey but as the fight continued he quickly learned "hey let me force this a5 into the vertical". The a5 just doesn't have the engine power to sustain. I can't tell you all how many times I've went against A and F Sabres in my MiG-15bis even in 1v 3 and 1v4 situations and clubbed them 1 by 1 due to fighting on my terms. Forcing Verticals, energy trapping, etc. Also, a slow sabre is a dead sabre if you're up against a competent MiG pilot.

Completely agree. The numbers against you can mean not very much if you lure them into your vertical fight. A slow sabre is a dead sabre

no it's not that it's they definitely nerfed the sabre's engine in the game or buffed the mig's retention because they can climb to space and still easily regain all their energy plus because of the seal clubbing german and russians if u fight someone another teammate will somehow go from 1k to 5k alt and kill you when your fighting someone else
