  • Podcast 2.2. Kiwis enjoy a reputation as progressive, compassionate people. But the government's failure to adequately address cases of harmful workplace bullying torpedoes that national myth. Allan Halse, the nation's longest serving worker advocate in bullying cases through CultureSafe, his small and successful organization, details how various entities abdicate responsibility to enforce the Health and Safety Act of 2015 and other relevant legislation. It seems callous government representatives seek to deny bullied workers redress. It's a tale of squandered opportunities.

Thank you Allan for the valuable work you are doing in New Zealand. Bullying is a global problem and we have to keep chipping away
at challenging this unethical, ignorant behaviour and work environments that tolerate it. It is unacceptable.

Thank you, from Walter, South Africa. I am diagnosed with PTSD, severe stress, depression. i had worked for a company for 8 years as financial manager. My work place was very toxic. if I may use the scenario, I became zero from hero in the eyes of the owners. This because of a women CEO appointed, who basically used me while needed (I was the go to guy in the company) and then churned me out with all the new appointments she had made. I found your youtube channel and watch regularly, it lifts up my spirits. This happened at the prime of my working career , age 55 this has destroyed me as a person. and everything I achieved in my life. God Bless You.

ja man, its brutal and almost invisible because various forms of cruelty are socially acceptable. Im a south african living in norway and i have been through the meat grinder on several ocassions. The grass is not greener on the other side because many countries dont really protect employees. Its assumed that targets are weak and incompetent and that an individual should be able to fend for himself or herself. I would reccomend body work and cold water therapy to get this rubbish out of your system. You could try "trauma release excersises" by david berceli, i know it is taught in SA. Dont listen to the inner critic, do everything you can to take care for yourself.

I'm listening to this with tears in my eyes. My boss bullied a girl to the point she took her own life. I always wondered why work safe did no investigation into this case as she was bullied so bad. Now I know. My workplace had a policy in place which meant they saw it and walked out the door. I'm shattered with that one.
